Emily is very talented; her voice is crystalline! She's a helluva piano player, too. There will be quite a future for this gal if the industry can figure out how to deal with her.
Hi Harri it's Mick in the UK. Thank you Harri and thank you Clint. This is such a good cover version with Emily's vocals crystal clear as usual. What we have to remember here is that there is no professional recording studio, and no session musicians, just Emily's home studio and lead guitarist Simon Tomkins who is also Emily's guitar teacher. Emily arranges the music and records everything herself. So please give this fifteen year old the credit she deserves. So thank you Harri for your fabulous, positive reaction. Take care, kind regards, Mick.
You know it's my pleasure to send these in Mick when I see the great reactions, as you have said before she is worth it. I hope she gets a chance to see them as well, maybe after Norway.
I had this on my wishing list. Mike Oldfield composer, guitarist and multi instrumentalist. The lead singer he used for a while was Maggie Reilly, from Scotland
@@agnetesorensenelbom5085 It is but how nice to have another version 40 years later. Quite often on Emily's channel she will get a comment that the cover she has done is better than the original and more than once I have seen her reply "Nothing beats the original" wise for a teenager. People sometimes forget that one reason the song is covered is she loves either the song or the artist.
Each time you give us more Emily, it's never a disappointment but always a joy to hear her doing another brilliant cover. Her youthful vocals are so beautiful and rich. Beautiful. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Clint. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks for the reaction Harri, the original was written by Mike Oldfield but sung by Maggie Reilly and it is a great song. I love to see these songs redone by another generation, and this girl just has a golden voice. Again Simon Tomkins accompanying her on the guitars and her Mum does her videography so sometimes I think those 1000 watt smiles are for her, regardless they are great to see.

She used To Be Mine is one of my favourite songs, and if you see my post about the song on Emily's Official Fan Group you will see that the story behind the song is even more tragic than the song itself.
@@mickcollins5748 It’s my favorite song by Sara Bareilles. No question. I think you have checked out the choir that I follow in Waterford, Ireland, called Mount Sion choir, and there’s a young Irish lass that sings it, and she is in a busy restaurant, wearing a waitress uniform, and it really adds to the atmosphere of the song. Of course she is no Em, but nobody is. She does a good job though.
I am signed up but never got a notification. Harri, she has more than a dozen original songs, just pick one, they are all good.😉 They are all different styles though, she doesn’t lock herself into any particular genre, unless you count ‘excellence’ as a genre.
"Ain't bad"? It is incredible considering Emily hasn't gone into a professional recording studio or used backing tracks, or session musicians. Take care.
It ain't that good either. Pretty much the same as the original. The backing track isn't special either, there's plenty of free backing tracks on the internet.

This song was from one of Mike Oldfield's golden ages when he paired up with Maggie Reilly of Cado Belle. This was a wonderful song when it was released in the early 1990s and has lost nothing since that time because of the simplicity of it so the pure vocals and great guitar work are timeless. This was a better cover than I expected it although as far as I remember it is pretty well a carbon copy of the original. As you say, the interesting part will be when she actually puts out original songs so that we can tell that she has her own musical ideas that she can share. Emily is a talented young lady. However, Maggie Reilly who voiced this song originally for Mike Oldfield on his Crises album has never been equalled and is worth you giving a listen. That said, Emily Lunge’s covers of Beatles classics are fabulous, as are her works with Sina “Drums” Doering. 👍🏻
If you liked this, you’ll LOVE the original Harri. Emily is good, but the original is so much more powerful, of course because Mike Oldfield is on the guitar.
Why reacting to a cover instead of the original one? Mike Oldfield and Maggie Really should have been the featured ones. The cover is just fine, doesn't add anything original worthy of praise.
Well, he reacted to the cover because I requested it because I am a fan of this young singer. Before I heard her version I wasn't familiar with the song, I am sure with over a million views there were many like me who went back to hear the original , which is terrific by the way. Even Harri didn't know the song and if you watched the video you would have heard him say he was going to react to the original as well. In every video description Emily includes if there were other tracks used and in this one drum tracks were added but if you watched the video you would have seen the inserts where the lead guitarist was playing, his name is Simon Tomkins. Following this young artist who has done over 160 videos has introduced me to a lot of music I otherwise would have missed and I believe she will be a name to watch not just for excellent covers but for her own music. If you checked out her channel I would find it hard to believe you wouldn't find things you like. Take care
