She looked like she wanted to cry when you gave her the color she wanted. Satisfying to see someone get their hair done and be happy with the results. A lot of hair stylists have no passion for hair and just take as many clients as they can get paid for. Respect your craft and you’ll get long term clients who know you have their full trust in them.

From what I've seen online, it says he charges $1,000 per session.
So, if you are able to find clients that can afford that kind of money, of course you can take your time and give people a better experience.
Unfortunately, that's just not possible for an average client.

There's not a "who" taught him. As a hairdresser its our passion that teaches us. What I mean is, you have such a strong passion that you learn from everything. Classes,videos,other hairdressers,trial on your guests,etc. And you get inspiration from so many different things. This is the greatest career cause you're constantly learning. Nothing is ever the same. You make people feel amazing and confident. Hope that helps you understand a little of how our brains work. There's never just 1person that has taught us.

My wings just grew after a personal apprenticeship in a salon by a hair master, so I’d say he taught me because he has an Extraordinary gift of teaching.
He's been doing this for so long now. He just continues to learn as he goes. Plus he has a natural knack for it.

I went to get my haired colored today, the salon used Guy Tang's Raven. It's such a beautiful purple and my hair feels so soft and is so vibrant. This was my first time really dying my hair and I was so happy with the result. So I just to say how amazing this product was.

I always listen and save Guy's videos. He's the best, hands down. I have been inspired to start the process of going blonde, eventually to go a gray purple color. So true, but unless you’re Guy Tang most clients aren’t willing to pay about $2,000 for a color correction and extensions in one session. I love that he gets to do it all in one day so we can watch, It just doesn’t always play out that well for us out here in the real world. 😂 Or maybe it does if you work with a wealthy clientele. I hope you wouldn’t consider my comment hate, just from my perspective. 😊

Hana Rose yeah she was a difficult case, not everyone would feel comfortable attempting to correct it for fear of damaging her hair any further, it was really damaged. She did need to cut about 2 inches off, looks like he did that, but I know what you mean. I’m just speaking in general about any color correction service. 😊 Yes Guy knows his shit, the hair wizard!😃
Hana Rose yes it is, especially in California and even more expensive in LA. 😊 Yup in LA just a blow out is $90 to $100 and it’s nothing fancy either, at least in my experience.

She had bands of almost BLACK hair dye. She's probably done dozens of home jobs and then expects a stylist to be able to get her blonde for like $200.00. I'm not saying she hasn't been to bad stylists, but 100% she's part of the problem.

Id much rather have someone put in the time and effort really watching my hair and giving it exactly what it needs for amazing results with little damage! Yes! I hate photo shopped pictures clients bring in! My pictures I take are organic and sometimes still doesn't show the absolute true color in person.

yeah I agree alot of the times it's the lighting,when I do the finished look under florescent light it doesn't show the true color unless I bring my client outside with a mirror then they can see the true results.

Lmao exactly, some people don’t have patience with their hair. Like sometimes going platinum/ blonde takes sessions . Especially if you keep tuning it into a color correction. She clearly kept adding a dark color after every time she got it processed. She probably wouldn’t like and then put dark on😭 which could explain why she struggled so much and had so much going on in her hair.
Emily EStefania when I first started getting balayage, we were putting a color close to my natural color at the root, then having to break through it to balayage after it grew out. So, I just said “I don’t have that many grays, forget that because it makes it harder”.
I knew I liked styling/coloring hair, but seeing how much I can transform someone the way you did in this video really motivates me to keep learning and really fulfill my potential 😭 amazing work ❤️

This is an amazing tutorial. Every step of the way I was like "Oh fuck I've seen this before it didn't go well", then you over came that, then another "Oh no this happened to me too I was stuck" and you managed get beyond that too! Thank you so much. This hair nightmare was such a great experience. I can clearly see why so many stylists and colorists failed. Master work!

Amanda Terry Guy did an amazing job on your hair. He actually chose a fabulous colour to work with your eyes and skin tones. The level 9, I thought, was too light, but what he finished with was perfection. Well worth the sore butt for sitting in the chair for 8 hours, and it just added to Guy’s arm size! No wonder he looks like he doesn’t have to workout! Beautiful, and well worth the wait. Amazing.

I am so here for how happy she is! I was looking for ideas due to being bored out of my mind during this pandemic. I haven't tried coloring my hair is like seven years so now I'm taking the plunge. Thankfully I have dark blonde hair so lifting it up to get the color I want won't be so scary. Just seeing how happy people are is getting me excited to try out one of my dream colors.

It's not that he's the only 1 to be able to fix it, you just need to have the large amount of $ to be able to book a stylist out for 8hrs or you may be able to do it in sessions. You can also book a free consultation with a stylist to ask them all your questions, get a quote on $ & time, and look at their portfolio. Def do your research. No harm in having a few consults& picking the right stylist for you. Good luck!

"I'm just ready to be something different than what I've always been" Story. Of. My. Life. I've tried to ask for drastic color changes for years & constantly told that its probably not gonna happen with my hair. 🙄 so disappointing. This gives me hope that someone out there can make my dreams come true, lol!
My hair was super long, about midway down my back and naturally jet BLACK, like so black it was somewhat blue in certain light. I was going gray pretty fast and I just did NOT have the energy to do the roots every week or so since the gray was SO noticeable against the black. I decided I would just lighten my hair enough and tone back to a dark blonde/light brown so the roots wouldn't be in such contrast to the rest of my hair. I seriously bleached 3 times and my hair didn't lift a single bit! It took me 3 months, bleaching about every 2 or 3 weeks to minimize the damage and having to rock some very bizarre colors during the process but as you can see from my picture I finally got it to a platinum blonde but because of the massive damage from overprocessing it to the point that it felt like him when it was wet, I literally shaved my head except for the top part which I just left in longer layers, though it wasn't necessarily long lol. Anyway that was a year and a half ago and turns out, I LOVE having a blonde pixie cut lol... If you want a change go for it, just don't attempt to do any bleach or extreme chemical work on your own unless you have a solid working knowledge of chemistry and color. My mom was a hairdresser and taught me enough that I can eke through the processing only having to ask a question or two along the way. Going to a lighter shade is difficult sometimes for people with darker hair but it's super easy to go back to a dark color if you aren't happy with the results lol!

Wow Guy has really grown up! I remember watching him a lot in hairschool, but it was a lot of fashion color and a bit chaotic. Now though, he is doing a LOT MORE practical color correction and making GREAT REFERENCES for professionals!

What color remover did you end up using in the beginning?
The beginning was definitely therapeutic for me. I am a hairstylist and I’ve had Lupus since I was 16 recently my health has declined and I’ve had to undergo surgery. I’m giving up on myself and I don’t know how not to. I feel less than because I physically can’t do what my colleagues do. It has put me in a very deep deep depression and anxiety to the point where I’m reluctant to even do hair anymore. It’s such a terrible feeling.
I love watching your videos. It reminds me of who I believe I used to be and want to be again in a healthy way. I love your color line and so did my clients. Custom extensions and wigs would come out so true to tone. I’m praying for a change.
