Finally got a chance to check out your review! You were really thorough and clear in covering the knife and the video quality and editing is fantastic. Thanks for putting in the time to do such good work on this review, and of course I am very pleased that you like the Turok! This kind of thing means a lot to me and KA-BAR too, as it really helps us get the name out there. Thanks again and keep up the great work! Subscribed! 👍 Jesse
Hey Jesse! thanks for stopping by, and I appreciate the feedback. I was just giving credit where credit's due. Hopefully I'll get a chance to check out the Choppa sometime soon as well, I've definitely got my eye on it. Keep up the great work sir!
Just found you..!!! New Sub here..! Nice review…! I’ve been on and am still on the fence on that knife..! 👍 Anyway I personally like knife reviews and pretty much anything in the outdoors..! Glad to meet you Homie..!
After literally WEEKS of thinking about what knife I should get as my survival knife I have finally made my decision and bought the Turok! I'm currently waiting for it to arrive. I thought about getting the BK2 and the regular Ka-Bar USMC as well, but since the BK2 is slightly too thick and a little small I decided to skip it. As for the regular Ka-Bar people advised me to not use it as a "survival" knife because of the tang (I'm still buying one in the near future though, that knife looks cool as hell and it's a classic!). My conclusion: the Turok is the best of both worlds! It's an inch longer than the BK2, but not as long as the regular Ka-Bar so it's a little more practical, not too thick, full tang, good sheath (although I'll modify it a little) and it looks cool! It's like the BK2 and the regular Ka-Bar had a child. What more can you ask?
Hey Oliver's World, I hope the Turok works out well for you! (I suspect it will :) ) It's definitely a slick design, and it's still going strong for me. Thanks for watching!
I think you chose the right brand for a survival knife since they make great looking knives and I have the BK-2 made by them and love it so much. I have other knives and most of them are American made like Gerber, Buck, and Schrade which is made in China. The last knife I purchased was a Case pocket knife which can be used as a backup pocket knife for cutting food, and for other small tasks as well. I love what that knife can do and it is built like a tank and I love the sheath it has too and like the one I have is that the knife is easily removed, and inserted into the sheath. You should not lose the knife and the design of both the knife and sheath is great and you made a great investment in buying that knife.
I think it's a great knife. Don't pry with it though, I broke my tip prying in some privet the first time I tested it. This was Privet which is pretty soft wood. Kabar replaced it so thumbs up and in a survival situation it was still a functional knife. Alfie Aesthetics broke his Bk7 tip in a similar scenario and they both have similar tip grinds. That kind of 'fighting' tip is just not meant for even light prying IMO. You got away with it but in a survival scenario i just wouldn't do it unless necessary. Everything else about it I love and the sheath is killer for the price. I'm keeping my replacement for sure.
I like your attitude. You are modest, and sensible and lay your cards on the table. Your dislikes/likes are clearly stated and your reasons behind your ratings understandable. A very enjoyable showcase, sir. Regards, Virginia Cork
Those fuzzy gloves are dangerous with knife work way to slick for me esp with grivory scales. This is a cool knife , the whole package for the money is awesome. The reason I like the Kabar and Becker series is that they have a 20° grind which bites into the wood. Great review, knives don't need to be so dang expensive to perform esp with wood crafting. A solid USA 1095 or 420HC like Gerber's Strongarm will do everything you throw at it, super tough steels and they strop right back into shape with ease.
Loved your review. I just picked up the Turok and love it. To me it checked all my boxes that I was looking for and to know that steel is well tested also helped me pull the trigger. The ultramid handle scales did concern me at first but after using it I think it will do just fine. Im a new subscriber and look forward to many more of your reviews.
Daniel Stocksdale I’m glad the Turok is working out well for you, it’s definitely one of my personal favorites. If you ever do find the scales to be a little slick I just added a 2” band of hockey tape around the center of the handle, which gives me a little more confidence when it’s cold and/or wet out. Thanks for watching!
Happily Ever Outdoors Yeah that is what Im leaning towards doing. I know that knife will work great for me for years. Im surprised more people haven't caught on to what a great knife this at a wonderful price. Hard to beat.
I love mine Jarosz has a channel and he ground the top edge to a 90 degree for ferro striking I think the sheath is a bit cumbersome but it sure won't fall out!
I would have to agree, the sheath is very practical albeit maybe not the most comfortable and easy to use. One of these days I would like to find a leather sheath to fit it, or have one made. Thanks for watching!
You did a good job on this video. And you seem like a nice guy. I found the Ultramid (nylon) scales to be grippier than the Becker scales. The Turok is very nimble and fast for its size. It's an almost perfect combat weapon.
Thanks for the feedback, I truly appreciate it. Believe it or not I have yet to handle one of the Beckers, so I can't make the comparison myself. The Turok is definitely one of my favorite knives, and I don't think it gets the attention it deserves. Thanks for watching, and for taking the time to comment!
Great review Bro, since I first watched I now own one , and it is Even MORE than I was expecting. I own many knives and for Under $100 I couldn’t recommend anything STRONGER or More DURABLE! And the sheath is very well thought out. I mean “it’s a Ka Bar” nuff said !!!! SEMPER FI
Given the design of this knife I wouldn't recommend using it for stabbing and prying, but as you can see even with more of a "fighting-style" tip it didn't break. Thanks for watching.
It’s up to you, only thing I would keep in mind when comparing the BK2 to the Turok is that the Turok has a much finer tip on it. Depending on how you intend to use the knife this could be a good thing or a bad thing.
I don’t have personal experience with the BK2, but I would say if you’re looking purely from a utilitarian perspective the BK2 should be more durable in the long term just by nature of the beefier design & thicker, less pointy blade tip. However, if you’re looking for something with a little more finesse the Turok may be the way to go for you. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
Like the Turok but looking for something BIGGER? Check out our video on the Kabar Jarosz CHOPPA! ruclips.net/video/oVs8uZOI12M/видео.html

I bought this knife last year and until today still be my primary knife when go out for camping and fishing.

I'm a lefty so I appreciate this review! Thanks!
No problem Tim!
Great video! Was on the fence about purchasing this blade. After watching this I purchased the knife. Thank you. Take care.
Thanks for watching!
Oh man. I was just waiting for the tip to snap. Nice!

I currently have the Esee 6, but i can't decide if i should try out the Turok or the BK2?

does it have a skeletonized handle ?
Tanks 4 review i just got one 🤜🤛
Is that the turok soundtrack?
Husky Terra no, but I guess it does have a little bit of that “vibe” to it (unintentionally). Thanks for watching!
Would you recommend this knife for skinning/gutting hunt kills?
What do you suggest. A Bar BK 2 or the Turok?
I don’t have personal experience with the BK2, but I would say if you’re looking purely from a utilitarian perspective the BK2 should be more durable in the long term just by nature of the beefier design & thicker, less pointy blade tip. Happily Ever Outdoors Thank you! It does help! I love them both but can’t have both yet. Your opinion matters to me. Thanks again.
TUROK….!!!!
