I’ve gone through two samples of Cartier Noir Absolu. It’s basically a gourmand aromatic fougere. I think it’s brilliant. It’s not sweet at all, but at the far dry down, 6 hours in when it heats up it smells like baked cookies when you open the oven door. Still not really a sweet smell though which is impressive how Mathilde pulled it off. It’s like replace the lavender in a fougere with a baked accord. The lavender is buried deep in there though. Very similar fragrance to Issey Miyakes Noir Ambre in the opening, which I own, but not as sweet as that fragrance and I actually think the Cartier is better because it’s a fougere amber not a resinous one which makes it aromatic enough to wear all year around without being too cloying. This smells just as good if not better than most niche out. Just as creative too. It has many different facets. Gonna be a slept on banger but I think it will catch on soon. Projects for 3 hours and lasts 10 plus as well.
I'm excited just from the thumbnail! A new Hermès Jardin fragrance!? Sign me up! These are some of the most unique fresh spring fragrances I have tried.
The only one I've tried from the Pasha de Cartier line is "Pasha de Cartier Parfum". I enjoy that one a lot, and I own a backup bottle of it. I hope to sample this new flanker, and now I have a better understanding of what to expect.
I'm really intrigued by that Pasha de Cartier Noir Absolu. I love smoky scents and that one sounds so different. Its nice to see a designer brand coming out with a bold new scent in our flooded market of boring blue/shower gel type scents.
The Cartier is fire. The more you wear it, the more it draws you in. In the air, it doesn't smell like burnt wood. It smells like caramel. Bravo 👏 Cartier for switching up the sweet fragrance trend.
TF Soleil Neige and Blanc are favourites of mine. They are so fresh and light, which is what I love. Yet they last and last on the skin. Smelled Soleil Brulant - not really a fan. TF has so many spicy and strong scents already! I love all the Hermes Jardin colognes I’ve smelled. My fave is Jardin Sur le Toit - rooftop garden in French. Yum, can’t wait to try the pistachios ❤ I think they seem reasonably priced, on par with Jo Malone’s colognes.
I have all four Soleil fragrances. Soleil de Feu has such a spicy sweet thing going on and lasts really well. Someone said it reminds them of chai tea, and I totally can see that. I do love Soleil Brûlant for that honey note. Also, Sephora has a sale right now so if you or someone you know is Rouge status, you can get 20% off, which is what I used. Takes the sting out of the price.
Sebastien - I can't believe how much I hated this fragrance last year. I tried it again a couple of times recently and I couldn't stop enjoying it. So..... I bought it! Very anxious to get it! It will go with my Mediterranean Italian roots.
My bottles of Soleil de Feu and the Pasha arrived today and I think they are both unique and very good. Frankly, I am pleasantly surprised by the TF given the weakness in their recent releases.
The Jardin line is so appealing... I kind of love the bottles and all the different colours. I've only smelled the Monsieur Li one, that is delightful. Edit: I was gonna suggest a video on the line but I just searched and you did one last year! Thanks Sebastian 🙏
By far, Soleil Niege is my favorite of the four. I appreciate Soleil Brulant in the shimmer oil much more than the EDP but it still falls to my least favorite with Soleil Blanc and De Feu fighting for second and third.
YES, I am VERY upset at the ridiculous prices of Tom Ford fragrances!! 😫 I am curious about what your favorite "Un Jardin" is! To me, it's definitely "Sur le Toit" ❤
Really curious to trying the new Cartier after watching this. I love it when designers take a chance and give us something unconventional. Most designers that are released these days all smell like the next one and have lost their identity. Flankers and redundancy is the money making scheme these companies profit on, so for Cartier to go and think outside the box has me intrigued.
Thanks for these reviews, Sebastian! I like the TF Soleil Blanc and Soleil Neige, but I didn’t like the Soleil Brulant at all. Glad to hear that you think the Soleil de Feu is really good, definitely want to get my nose on it. I’m interested in trying the new Hermes Jardin as well, because I do like some of the others in that collection.
I got a decant of hermes. Opening is quite sharp in your face type but after opening it is so interesting to smell literally pistachio. I will enjoy my decant then i will decide if it is worth to have a full bottle
I haven’t tried any of these fragrances as I cannot buy anything and will be only concentrating on my already very large perfume collection for perhaps the rest of my life even though there is no way I could even use up a quarter of my collection. However, I still enjoy knowing what is going on in the perfume world and always look forward to your videos.
I'm gonna get the new TF. The notes sound like my speed. I used to hate Soliel Blanc but have grown to really like it. I actually enjoyed Cherry Smoke. However you correct the prices are ridiculous.
Tom Ford Soleil de Feu is really something special! This one to me came across as a creamy woody, floral musk. It smells quite polarizing. It is a tie for me between SdF and SB. Soleil Brulant was a Soleil flanker in it's own right, as is SdF. But Soleil Brulant has this nuclear lasting power that I love! Not to mention that the black honey note that they used is sooo good! Eventually I will pick this one up! Maybe once it comes in the 10ml travel size! Thank you for the video Sebastian!
I always hold out for the 250ml. They usually release those later, so it’s worth waiting a bit. Soleil Neige is interesting. It’s supposed to invoke sunny spring skiing.
Waiting for a new chanel but nowhere to be found. They sure do take their time. Out of the three I'm curious about the Hermes but I'm also a little interested in the Tom Ford. Great video.
I have Soleil Neige and it is my favorite Tom Ford fragrance. I have Eau De Soleil Blanc, which is my second favorite, and coming in third is Rose Prick.
Waiting patiently for my Soleil de Feu sample to arrive. My favorite of the other 3 soleils is Brulant. I know people don't love it but I love it on me. Close 2nd is Neige which I love when I need a break from all the warm scents in the winter months. I don't dislike Blanc but it's the least unique imo. I find it a little boring. Happy to hear you like De Feu! Now I'm more excited to try it!
Can’t wait to try Cartier. It sounds like a fragrance that will most likey be discontinued in the future due to its uniqueness. I want it just for the bottle 😍
You need to get your nose on Soilel Neige, Sebastian. Blanc is the most popular but Neige is so amazing. Feu sounds interesting but if the tuberose is prominent than it will be a pass, tuberose makes me nauseous :(
Soleil Neige is my favourite of the Soleil range by Tom Ford, although Soleil Blanc gets a lot more airtime and love here on RUclips. I need to go test Soleil de Feu - I haven't seen it yet here in Dubai.
I own love Soleil Neige and like Brulant. IMO, Neige is great for spring and summer while Brulant because of its density is better for fall and cold weather. The spice, powder, and nuttiness of the new one as you describe sounds intriguing. Thanks for another great video!
Great review, as always! I can't wait to get my hands on the new Hermès and Cartier Pasha. I love the Jardin line and the notes for this one are definitely calling out to me. Super excited about the new Pasha too. Cartier is one of my favorite houses for fragrances and this one sounds really interesting, even though it seems like a strange release for spring. The bottle really is stunning, although it's interesting that Cartier removed the trinity-ring motif design that was always at the base of the cap for all the previous releases...
Hi Sebastian, I really like Soleil Neige but am intrigued by Soleil De Feu I like the idea of the woody style. I recently bought a 100ML of DS & Durga pistachio and I am pleased so I am intrigued by HERMES UN JARDIN A CYTHERE. I love olives like you, where are your favorite Olives from on a side note? I love going into Whole Foods and filling a mixture of olives in a quart size container from different regions. Cheers Brutha 😎
Cartier is so underrated. They make great men and women's fragrances, at a very affordable price. I discovered them only recently. My partner wears Declaration and Pasha. I really enjoy those fragrances on him. He bought me Baiser Volé for my birthday. I do enjoy it. However, I absolutely hate their "La Panthère" fragrance which according me smells really "old lady-ish", and is too potent. I really like their Oud collection, even though it was way pricier than their other fragrances (345€ for 75ml / 2.5 fl oz)
Very curious about the Cartier. Smokiest I can think of among designers would be Margiela's By the Fireplace (well and Lattafa's Ameer Al Oudh), Bentley for Men Absolute, and Loewe 7 Anonimo, all of which are a love for me. Wondering how this one will compare to those in smokiness
Don't think it is Parr of the Jardin collection but I smelled Hermes Citron Noir while at a duty free. Beautiful summer fragrance but I opted for Dior Parfum.
Thanks for your reviewing these new fragrances.. if it possible I need a comparison between original pasha de Cartier and this new one.. thanks and best wishes
Soleil De feu was the most Strange TF that i bought ... Its not summer its not winter Perfume , Its warm and Cold at the shame time , its sweat but heavy woody also at the shame time ... Its like it doesnt have a character .
The edt of soleil blanc is enjoyable I bought it for 120€ and thought it was worth it until it was stolen. Just an observation, I think that in the latest video you mistook the Brunello Cucinelli pour Homme with Pour Femme at least fragantica says that the ribbed bottle is the feminine one
Cool video, Sebastian :) Did you smell the new Guerlain L'homme Ideal Platine Prive ? I did, and it is very very close (perhaps exactly the same ?) to the Cologne version, which was discontinued... great news for me since I missed this one :) Greetings from France !! :)
about the price matching thing, we (people who work retail) get so many insane people who get so mad over uncontrollable things and act like literal toddlers, if you're just a nice person and you're pleasant to be around, i'll do almost anything for you lol just your basic manners and being a just nice person to have in the store, you can have anything! it's all good with me lol
I can totally see people without manners. Not good. I'm definitely very nice and respect the SA's unless they are mean themselves which I will avoid. No sense in giving them any money if they aren't nice! :)
Hey Sebastian! Could you please recommend a good aquatic fragrance for woman? Something designer, easy to find like at Macys, Nordstrom, etc… I appreciate it ❤
@@ThePerfumeGuy ehhhh, I've had that, its too sunscreeny for me. I love Aqua Di Gioia ALOT but it just doesn't last on my skin, Do you know any other along that line? Appreciate you

Interesting about that sourness in the Pasha. Something similar happens on my skin with Declaration Haute Fraicheur, although that's more of a metallic touch. Definitely something to get used to. Really appreciate the impressions Sebastian. 💛🤍🖤

Soleil De Feu is so good. I have been wearing it since I bought it last week. My favorite of the line now.
I love it!
That cartier is bomb! Been wearing it since last week but enjoy the smoke. It's a bit offputting but I really like that about it.

The new Hermes sounds very nice! I’ve always been a big fan of the Jardin line.
I bought the Hermes as soon as it came out. Love it. I have been wearing on a daily basis. It's perfect spring scent.
I totally agree!
The Cartier is fire. The more you wear it, the more it draws you in. In the air, it doesn't smell like burnt wood. It smells like caramel. Bravo 👏 Cartier for switching up the sweet fragrance trend.
