I don’t know how RUclips channels get huge, but you have the best spearing with the best stringers, and could easily be a top channel if you want to. Thanks for posting these 🤙
I had to watch that one twice, loved it.., that BIG fat Black was chumming away too, glad the tuna showed up for it, instead of the men in the black suits. Drive by Mutton way nice too!
Hey Stone, my Commercial permits are only for 'Reef" fish in the GOM. I have speared Pelagic fish including Wahoo, etc, but feel it's irresponsible to attempt to free shaft them. In lieu of a stone shot, it's almost a certainty that you'd lose the fish and your shaft. When I retire from Commercial spearing, I'm looking forward to going after them again. Best, Dan
Love the videos Dan. What gun are you using if you don't mind me asking. For a minute it looked like a roller but im not the most familiar with the spearguns. Anyway awesome videos been watching 4-5 per day catching up.
MM, it's a home made gun we make ourselves. Roughly based on an older Sea Hornet but utilizing better parts and tighter tolerances. Neptonics reverse triggers, RA shafts, etc. Glad you're enjoying the videos. Best, Dan
Hey DT, yes, we make those ourselves. Speargods.com (727-432-1967) and Neptonics (813-867-3250) both have similar PH's for retail sale. I use a 7.62/54R cartridge, and would recommend either that or a .223. Best, Dan
Tip, like most things, their are pulse's and minus's to choosing either one or two bands. I've found that One band works better overall, but you're right, their are def times I wouldn't mind having two! Thanks for comment! Best, Dan
John, they were some type of Bonito's. I've never eaten one but have heard if you cut out the red meat, the rest is actually pretty good when fresh. Best, Dan
Even though it’s pretty much the same thing every time I never get tired of watching your footage. Great job!

SS59, thanks for the comments. Much appreciated. No idea either about huge either LOL. Best, Dan
Well that went well! Glad you have some time to post these up.

Thanks Paul, I've got some footage of a pack of Silky's going ballistic on thrown up chum. I'll try and find it. Best,Dan
Watching your videos makes social distancing a little easier! Amazing how you find these islands of life.
Thanks CC, yeah I'm doing the social distancing thing myself so thought I'd take a few hours and post a few vids. Glad you enjoyed ! Best, Dan
Sorry Ben, that response was meant for you! Best, Dan
Do you spear anything else besides grouper an hog nose just asking like wahoo or tuna?

Do you make those slip-on powerheads yourself? I’ve seen a couple videos on RUclips and was thinking of making some myself. What caliber do you use?

Dan MacMahon thank you so much for the reply and the info. I really do appreciate it.
One more question...what do you use to seal the round inside the PH to prevent water intrusion?....silicone, epoxy, nail polish
I needa get down there with yall!!
Need a second band for the biggies :)

@@danmacmahon3973 you definitely make it look easy 😊
Were those tiny tuna feeding on the upchuck?

Dan, just wondering why you ever "brain" them with your knife. Thanks.
B31, I don't usually, I will if the situation requires it. I know a couple of guys who regularly do it. Best, Dan
Editing??? 5 min of back to the top....yawn
Terry, lol, I gather that was too much. I try and edit out most of the ascent, I'll see if I can trim the fat a little more. Best, Dan
