    I love the more adventure focused content that you produce that just happens to feature a camera along for the memories. I also like long-term reviews of photography and videography systems. Those help us consumers know the exact capabilities and limitations of tools beyond what the manufacturers tell us in the specifications.

      Ah - long-term review. I like that idea for a couple of the bodies we have. I’ll add this to my list!

    Hey, happy new year to you guys. I know this video is late but when I was initially learning to use my camera years ago I learned a lot from your channel. I'm sorry to hear about your injuries, I haven't been on RUclips in a long time and had no idea, hope that you recover fully and well. I'm excited that you guys are into flight sims. I'm also into aviation, have been an aviation worker for a decade and I'm currently in flight school getting my ratings. I look forward to seeing where that journey ends up going for you. Hope your year has been going well so far.
    Thank you for the content you put out. It's made a huge difference for me when I was learning.

    I am happy to hear the back is getting better! I love watching project videos, with the big solar eclipse coming this spring maybe a project video geared toward that. Maybe some more astrophotography? Can't wait to see what the new years brings out!!

    Love your matter-of-fact videos with a personal touch. Kudos on your achievements. The dedication and perseverance definitely shows.
    Wish you the very best for 2024, and an amazing recovery for your injury/surgery. And yes, Physical Therapists are arguable the most underrated folks in the medical world. They work miracles!

    The video that Raymond did on the Z8 convinced me to buy the Z8 vice the Z6 to replace my D5600 being used for bird/wildlife photography. I appreciated his Z8 evaluation. Thank you both for your videos, I find them very informative. Jeff from Yorktown Virginia.

    Where would I like to see you go? Somewhere on the East Coast. I get the impression that you live out west and from someone who has traveled all over the country, photography in the east is so much different than the west. I live in the DC area so one place I would suggest is DC because of the monuments of course, but other places like the zoo, and a couple of nearby parks. Acadia National Park in Maine is gorgeous. Over in Maryland we have Blackwater Wildlife Refuge and in Delaware there is Bombay Hook National Wildlife preserve and the place I go the most, Conowingo Dam northeast of Baltimore for bald eagles. March to May and mid November until early January are the best times of the year to go there. Happy New Year!

    Good luck with your back issues Leigh. I hope you will recover 100%. I am not sure if sitting for hours at your flight simulator is helping in that way.
    Happy new year and greeting from the Netherlands.

    Leigh, Happy and Healthier New Year to you and Raymond. I miss you in the out of doors as well. Best wishes on that effort. I would love to attend tours with you and Raymond. My preference is to find locations west of the Mississippi. Why? Because most everyone can take glorious images in amazing locations. I want to learn to find beautiful images nearby... where I can enjoy the skill frequently. I would like to learn from you/Raymond at a location "nearby", without flying, where I can return later on my own. It does not need to be fancy. Car camping would be fine. It would be about photography. Sunrise, breakfast, conversation about the images (why it was taken, how it might be improved, etc.), another round of images, little food/rest, out for sunset, little more conversation. Keep it simple. Keep it real. Keep it focused on photography. That approach would be completely refreshing!
    Wishing you all the best in the coming year!

    Merry Christmas from across the pond. Looking forward to 2024 and what you have planned. Thanks again for following me. I'm currently doing a review of the nikon Z8, 14-24 f2.8 and 180-600 F5.6-6.3. I've got 4 videos coming out.
    Regarding your mobility. As you know I've been there. Try not to think about what u was able to do. Its took me nearly 5 years to start looking forward and not dwelling when I was able body. I just say this is book 2 of my life. My hope for 2024 with my channel is to get over 1thousand. I'm getting better than I was so that's a plus. Anyway want to wish you a happy new year to you and Raymond from me and my family. 🎉

    Come up to WA in the summer time, You can hit up many spots to capture the milkyway with out much potential stress on your back pending how your feeling by late July.

    • @daviddb4858
      @daviddb4858 9 месяцев назад

      Yes, for astro photography the summer would provide the best chance for clear skies. The ocean beaches of the Olympic Peninsula provide a great backdrop for astro photography, because you have the sea stacks, the ocean, the phosphorescence in the ocean waves, the moon....and if one is really really lucky, an aurora. Orca watching is often better in late July, too. I suggested April for the tulip festival, something everyone should see at least once in their lives. And the rain forests are often dry in the summer, but that's when most tourists visit them. IMO rain is an integral part of a rain forest. Looks like Leigh and Raymond will need to make two trips to WA!

    Given your mobility issues and love of the outdoors, maybe you should invest in a e-bike. They make mountain bike versions with shock absorbers and fat tires - suitable for sandy environments. Plus you can pack your gear on the bike rather than your back.

    • @LeighAndRaymond
      @LeighAndRaymond  9 месяцев назад

      I have looked at e-bikes! I’ve been contacted by a few companies offering them but I’m trying to find the right one for me. :)

      @@LeighAndRaymond I’m not affiliated with any of them, but something like the DiRodi line could work for you. It doesn’t hurt that they look very Euro chic

    Hope Raymond and you have a great New Year.
    Back surgery can be very tricky. Sometimes it helps. Sometimes your back gets worse. Other times it doesn’t help very much. One never knows. Hoping for the best results for you.
    I bet because of your back you are looking at small, lightweight bodies & lenses. As a street photographer these are the criteria I use in selecting gear.
