The higher oil plug is a level plug, fill until oil comes out of the higher hole, 700ml for a dry built engine, for an oil change it's about 500-_600ml
Hi i live in korea. And also lambretta owner. Actually we couldn’t find to oil filter in korea. Can i know how can buy to lambretta oil filters. or website or shop? Actually i search to many website. But the y couldn’t be delivery in korea. If you know that issue,please let me know information. Thank you.
I doubt that the old oil was in the case for 25 years. The level would have dropped substantially and the lubricating qualities deteriorate to the point that drive would be problematic. The important thing to observe is to NOT OVERTIGHTEN the plugs on their reinsertion. This is where most people including mechanics go wrong causing grave damage.
An electric kit would be so much better, faster and far more reliable but sweet find m8! I refuse to waste my time money or energy on petrol ever again. All my Lambrettas and I have well over 160 of them of which only 50 are electric now and It is so nice not having breakdowns constantly, spending 1 week driving and 7 weeks fixing the terrible Italian motors and parts lol. Not to mention I love being able to destroy Ninjas when they think they're tough and cool and rollup beside me hahahahaha Anyway nicely done enjoy the rides! PS I had to stop even thinking of Contis thanks to their head office choosing to force their Russian workers to keep working because Poutine threatened to ban Continental from doing in business in Russia so yeah bye bye Continental since they think supporting the Russian War on Ukraine is more important than peace and what's right.
Until I finally had a garage I always did this, and other jobs, on the street. Good memories ;)

There is no oil filter. Try ScooterCenter or SIP in Germany for parts though!

Lambretta uses SAE 90 gearbox oil not SAE 30 Vespa engines use SAE 30

The oil hadn't been changed in 25 years...says a lot.....looking at the condition of the rear wheel also says a lot about maintenance
