As a huge fan of the manga, this is a blessing. This is my favorite romance. Period. Primarily because I immediately resonated with Koito in how in my youth, I made the same mistake of using romance stories as guidelines for relationships IRL. I feel the boys are misinterpreting some stuff, but since it's just the pilot episode, I'll hold off on interjecting for now. One thing I would like to say for those unsure about this first episode, however, is that this is one of the few girls/boys love shows that skips trying to justify homosexual relationships to its audience. Instead, it jumps straight into developing its characters. You could swap out Koito and Nanami's genders for any other gender pairing combination and the story would work just as well.
Genuinely my favorite romance ever created and you can’t imagine how unbelievably happy I am you guys are watching this Last time I was this hyped Sound Euphonium announced the release date for its third season
Funnily enough, I also wrote a review of this one back when MAL still had a decent review system and it’s still after years the one I’m the most proud of
What a pleasant surprise to see Bloom Into You on this channel. It gives me hope to see another all-but-forgotten gem of the Yuri universe around here someday: Aoi Hana.
Dang, I loved that one too. For me Aoi Hana is second only to Bloom into You. I've checked out a handful of other Yuri shows and none of them have made me feel like those two did.
Holy shit you guys are watching this show? This is probably my favourite romance of all time. One of my favourite series of all time tbh. All the characters feel so real as does the romance that develops. I've since picked up all the manga and Sayaka novel spinoff after watching the anime. It's really fantastic stuff. Too bad the anime doesn't finish the story. It would really only need one more season.
For a show that's definitely about two girls falling in love with each other, the first half of this episode (and Yuu's feelings the whole episode) kind of resonated with me in an Asexual/Aromantic way? The whole "love is supposed to be like this, why don't I feel anything, everyone is always talking about this stuff, I don't understand," that huge distance she feels between herself and her friends in that scene where they are eating lunch together. I know this show is about the characters discovering their love together, but... it just really felt kind of nice to sense a kinship with the character in that way, even though that's not where her journey is going. Looking forward to watching their journey along with these reactions. 😊
I definitely agree with what you're saying. If you watch through this show, it's really about the characters discovering their sexuality. There's an explicitly aro/ace character and Koito definitely fits in as aro/ace as well. I'm also asexual and I find that Koito is questioning herself through any romantic interaction she has.
Woah you're reacting to this show! Awesome!! This anime and manga holds a very special meaning to me, not because I'm gay, but because I'm aromantic. I see a lot of myself in Yuu, growing up only understanding romance through media and never quite grasping the concept. Even through this is very clearly a love story, me and a lot of people like me see this series as an exploration of the spectrum of aromanticism, and figuring out how to deal with romance (yes some aromantic people do fall in love) in an otherwise romantic-free life. I feel like this reading of this story gets dismissed a lot, but i'd like to think we all interpet stories differently and they mean something special to all of us
Ooh, didn't expect to see that one on this channel, this is a pleasant surprise. Really enjoyed the manga and the anime, and I hope you'll enjoy it too.
I'm genuinely so excited to see this series be covered on this channel!!!! Bloom Into You is what I call a love story in the purest sense. Of course it's about two characters falling for each other but it's also about love in general & what it means. Each character embodies their own form of love and somehow all of them resonate with me in some way.
I can´t believe this is happening. Its one of my favourite manga (even got a tattoo) and it´s sooo underrated. You´ll definitly like this. Sadly there is no season 2 but i hope that you´ll read the manga as some of the best/saddest/happiest and most important things happen right after the anime ends. Besides it has one of the best finales in romance imo. Nontheless you will expirience a truly great and emotional romance story
Bloom into You is one of my all time favorite yuri anime. It goes in depth with the emotions and coming to terms with yourself. It doesn't just deal with being a lesbian, but also with being ace. Yuu is an ace lesbian. More specifically she is a demisexual lesbian. There is another character who is aroace, but I won't spoil who. Jacob is definitely onto something with his reading already. Also rest assured this anime will not "will they won't they" to you like other romance anime.
Thanks for taking up this series sos bros! I'm not sure if you've heard of the term Aromantic or Demiromantic, but a lot of the fans of the series are particularly connected to this show because Koito is implied to be one! Koito struggles with falling in love because she thinks it's easy and it's love at first sight. She doesn't understand Love in this context, because she never felt that. The story is about her and Nanami eventually learning more about themselves, but if you want some understanding on Koito, take a short while at looking up Aromantism :D
I was NOT ready to see my favorite manga here, but I am so excited for your reactions to this show. Imo, easily the best yuri and possibly the best romance manga out there (the show is amazing too, I just wish we got more seasons to adapt the whole thing).
OMFG YES! Randomly clicked on your channel to see what you are up to and seeing this made me so excited! This show is marred only by the fact that it's an incomplete adaptation. I hope you like it even a fraction of the amount that I do :)
I'm happy to see you react to this show, its one of my all time favorites and my favorite romance story. I hope you guys do enjoy it and sadly the anime doesn't cover the full story but the manga is great and you should read it when you finish the anime.
GUYS!!! This is awesome!!!! Not only is it one of my favorite romance animes, but another yuri masterpiece on the channel!!! It is because of you two that I actually gonna finally watch Revolutionary Girl Utena, before watching ya'll's reaction to it. You two are a blast, and you react to good animes. Your Sunlmmertime Rendering is great. Keep throwing some loved yuri in there, and I'll never stop coming back!
as expected the aspec (aromantic/asexual spectrum, for those who aren't familiar) aspect fully goes over their heads haha. it's a shame how they completely erase it since they strongly assume from even before the beginning (and want) that koito is a lesbian and fell in love at first sight, and rationalize every thing koito expresses to fit this assumption, despite the text being clear with her not having romantic feelings towards nanami at this point. well i hope our boy maki will make them conscious of the presence of the aspec element in this story, even if a bit late. i also want to friendily (is that a word?) point out the irony of condemning the friend of heteronormativity, but then be guilty of amatonormativity, with assumptions/expectations about the 'goal' of this (and any) romance anime to be the protagonists getting into a conventional 'relationship'. it's a bit too aspec for that to apply to it, and it would be unfair to hold those rigid, amatonormative expectations :)
I really didn't expect to see this anime here, but it is a very welcome surprise. I love this one, probably one of my favorite romance manga series. Yuri is a bit of an underground genre, which is why I didn't expect a reaction, but it is very well written so I'm excited for this one.
As one who has read the manga & own the DVD box collection of this anime. I am so excited to see the Bros react to this series! 💖 It is one of my favorite romance series & is very well written would highly recommend reading the manga after watching the anime series!
I watched this series a few years ago and at the moment I'm watching Maria Watches Over Us (a classic Class S anime) and I'm noticing some similarities between Yuu + Nanami and Yumi + Sachiko particularly in character design. looking forward to revisiting this show with these reactions!
As Hot blooded raging male, I can't believe you guys are watching this show. I'd say it's the best Yuri show I've seen, and def in my top 5 romance-drama anime. The only "underrated" show in my book.
Oh wow, I just watched this anime a short while ago! I really enjoyed it, it truly felt like a very honest dive into how complex feelings can be, and how it's sometimes not as clear cut as certain romance stories make it out to be. Only complaint I had was that the ending felt very sudden imo, like they were expecting another season but never got it? I'll probably check out the manga someday ^^'
i absolutely adore this series! one thing i have to say though is that i don't think you can fully grasp the meaning without reading the rest of the story (assuming this doesn't get a season 2) because this season pretty much adapts only half the story i think it can be a bit misleading the way things left off at the end of the anime as to how the story develops, but otherwise still a great watch!
when i watched this, i didnt really see koito being romantically attracted to her in the first episode. i dont understand what made you think its something thats "obvious" and stuff
They saw the "yuri" tag. Yeah, a bit of a shame that they are so focused on that they are misinterpreting some stuff but surely they'll notice it before long.

That's pretty true. Most of the sexuality related woes we see are from Sayaka's perspective, who is practically a third lead in the story.
And Sayaka's story beats are so good too!! Yagakimi is absolutely perfect.
Its a win for the sapphics

fr this anime got me into reading mangas in general
Which is crazy to me... season 1 covers pretty much exactly half the manga.
@@wisefelipe well the anime didn’t get popular enough for a 2nd season
@@HaryadFr a genuine crime, this anime is one of my favorite romance anime with both leading characters being girls

What a pleasant surprise to see Bloom Into You on this channel. It gives me hope to see another all-but-forgotten gem of the Yuri universe around here someday: Aoi Hana.
oh, that one was soo important to me in my teens
Dang, I loved that one too. For me Aoi Hana is second only to Bloom into You. I've checked out a handful of other Yuri shows and none of them have made me feel like those two did.
It's sad that the anime did not continue but you should read the manga after the show, the chapters in the story is brilliant after the anime.
9:29 Never noticed that all the important character moment places flash together here, cool touch.

What's wrong with this channel picking up gems like these.... 😂😂😂 So fantastic
The lineup has been so cracked for the last few months tbh. Never expected this to follow up Sakamoto but I am 1000% here for it
@@oppositeofitself8444 now my only wish is that somehow Bakuman will be picked up one of these days:)

Yeah, it's great that this show is less of a "Yuri" but rather one of the few actual LGBTQIA+ anime like Wandering Son.
For that, in the end, you have Maki there too
She is def aroace spec. There’s an aroace character in series that you may really like!

God I really hope they read the manga and Sayaka light novels after the anime. Absolutely one of my all time favourite series in all aspects
