    Let me know in the comments which wines you are planning to buy in 2024 for your wine fridge, cellar, or collection! 🍷

      Since Stella Di Campalto is getting more and more expensive, do you think that Gorelli is going to follow the same path? Have you tried Gorelli's rosso and Brunello?

    I'm loading up on bottles from the Loire Valley this year. All about that 2022 and mainly looking to buy to drink now. I don't cellar things. Life is too short and I'm not a wine investor. Anything I purchase is being consumed within 12 months of purchase time.

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think that is very wise! I also do not buy wine for investment. I buy wines for myself (investing in future self). ✨🥂 Cheers!

      If I were to try to drink everything I've bought within 12 months of purchase, I'd be in big trouble. I've currently got around 275 bottles, most of them unique sitting in a dark, cool spot inside my house.

    Thanks, Agnese. I have been drinking Pouilly Fuisse and northern Rhones for years: they are, or have been, great value. The '14 Pouilly Fuisse and '13 and '15 Cote Roties, Crozes Hermitage and Cornas are drinking beautifully right now. I discovered grower Champagne a few years ago and they provide about 90% of my Champagne buying nowadays: Brochet and Camuset are particularly good examples. Another good value, imho, is Cru Classé Beaujolais.

    • @NoSediment

    One of my most memorable wines from last year was a 2016 rosso di montalcino from il marronetto. What a wine! Can only recommend adding some of their rosso or some of their brunello to your cellar. The rosso is 22 months in oak and outperforms some of the big brand brunellos easily.

    Rioja whites are absolutely awesome. If its difficult for somebody to buy Viña Tondonia blanco, go for its lower range white which is called Gravonia, its also really good, but its becoming difficult to find also

    • @NoSediment

      Great wines, I agree! Yes, I think Gravonia is also strictly sold on allocation now. Just as their rose wine. 🥲 Very unfortunate for us! 🤤

    The algorithm somehow sent me your way and I find the wine hobby and your talk about champagne's price increases fascinating. However I have to admit I only have a bottle of Aldi 18,99€ rosé champagne and a couple of Wolfinger Cremant d'Alsace (which I bought on sale for 8,99€ a bottle) in my "cellar" (it's a couple of racks in my kitchen).
    Different worlds colliding. LOL

    Great year, Agnese! I think I'll be moving my expenses toward tastings this year, and saving for Diploma. If there's one thing I enjoy more than wine, it's learning about wine
    Quite a lesson on white Rioja. I had just taken my WSET3 exam in Haro, so I could then relax and actually explore the place. I went to this wine shop in the main square asking for white Rioja, and they looked at me like this 😬. It's just THAT difficult to get your hands on white Rioja nowadays. Well, I'll have to scratch my pocket for it.😂

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  Год назад +1

      Very smart! It is always best to invest in Your self, and education certainly is up in the top spot! 🙌🙌🙌 That is true about the white Rioja, it was also difficult for me to find it in the region itself! 😓

    Cooler climate Syrah is my favorite, and so I was excited when VinePair awarded their best wine of 2023 to a Syrah from a winemaker who farms just 12 acres opposite Hermitage: Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet Hervé Souhaut Syrah 2022. I was able to find a few bottles in a shop near me. Opened one (loved it) and will be on the lookout for more in 2024. Affordable and fun.

    Well done ! indeed, vintage champagnes prices have gone up into the stratosphere, I only buy the NV cuvee's for immediate consumption. I recall spending ~$50/bottle back in the day for 1982/90/96 Dom Perignon's which are still drinking beautifully TODAY and I thought that was crazy prices ! What do I know ?

    • @NoSediment

  • @Adrian802

    I'm personally buying: 2008 ( maybe 2012) Champagnes, Armagnac, Canadian Whiskies, Some of Cotes du Rhones, 2018 CHile,( waiting for 2022), 2019 Argentina, 2013 Niagara Icewine, and last but not least Tokaji Aszus ( prices have already gone up and I am NOT happy with it haha). If I see Bordeaux Reds that I like, yeah might grab a bottle or two since the price of Burgundy has shot up that it makes Bordeaux looks like a bargain.

    Also some 2022’s which are just entering the market here, from them and other makers. As well as some Pouilly Fuisse from Roc de Boutires which isn’t heavy handed on the oak.
    Also Chenin Blanc, from Vouvray, Anjou and Saumur.
    And finally some red: Cru Beaujolais, especially Morgon and some Saumur Champigny by Roches Neuves.
