Thank you for posting. I am I'm in the process of doing the same for my 86 xr600r. I was very skeptical, but after seeing this video I feel confident to do it!
Thanks Pat! It's a real nice engine design. Also check "XR land". That guys also made excellent video's! Very helpful. Good luck & Have fun with the rebuild!
Hey, thanks for the video! Could you share for how long I should keep crankcases in the oven and for how long should I keep crankshaft in the freezer? Thanks!
pfoei, don't know exactly Freezer: if you have the time, put them in the evening before. 4hours, or 16hours. would be ok. Would put a thin layer of oil and a plastic bag sealing your engineparts. Oven: how long does a lasagna need? 30min? 180degrees celcius, think thats ok. becaus the oven heats the crankcase evenly, so there's no distortion. The bearings slide in perfectly. TIP: if the bearings are still losse after cooling, then degrease and use the special loctite as named for cylindrical solutions. Good luck!
@@eligijusstarinskas3977 it ain't cheap. But perhaps you only need a top end rebuild. If you're engine is still good, perhaps you don't need to split the cases etc. for egsample. Have fun!
