I was actually in this same class with Mike. I have to agree it was an extremely well put on clinic. It's all complimentary from Ford Performance (minus travel and lodging) when you buy one of these Gt350/GT350R. In addition to the items that Mike showed they also hire a professional photographer to shoot the entire event, then they give you a thumb drive with all the pictures.......and thats all complimentary too. It is total 1st class event!
Track attack is a fantastic experience! The people make it what it is! Highly professional and they displayed great patience and took the time until you get it. When you are driven by the professional you understand what to make as your goals!! Loved every moment of track time! Thank you guys at Ford!
Looks like a super fun day! I did the Skip Barber 3 day race school this year. I also I the BMW school and did a video on it too. Of course, there's nothing like actual racing!
You won't get invited, but you do get a free 1 day pass. You have to call them and register for an event. I'm going there in July, bought my 17' R last August, you'll love it!
JMaherWRX .. is there really that big of a difference between the 350 and 350R? I mean does the 350R feel that much more special? I'm sure you guys drove both of them and could feel the difference. I could literally get a Gt350 at sticker now in Los Angeles. is it worth waiting another 4 months for the R and pay another 30k on top of that.
I haven't gone yet, I'm going in July. The don't have 350R's at the Track attack though, they have 350 track packs. Those who have driven both, and you check Mustang6G for reviews, state there is a very noticeable difference between the two. Personally, I love the carbon wheels, as they are almost 50% lighter, which makes for more responsive and agile steering. The Cup 2's are also far stickier, and the car itself is a bit lighter and has more of a "cool" factor to it than the 350 with no rear seat, carbon rear wing, red pinstriping, etc. I got mine for $5000 over sticker. Personally I think the R is absolutely worth 30K over for the unique special factor, but I wouldn't be able to justify paying it. At 30K over I'd be looking at a 911.2 GT3 with a manual. With the ADM I paid, the R was only $15,000 more than a regular 350, so it was a no brainer. Only you can decide if the rarer, more unique version, will be worth the extra cash to you. For me, its a once in a lifetime car, so I wouldn't part with it for any money. The driving experience it offers is certainly worth the asking price.
Yes, all GT350 owners get this complimentary via the purchase of a Shelby. I bought mine new, so I'm not too sure on whether or not it's transferrable.
This school and the way it's handled is a complete joke and ripoff. Bought a 2018 GT350, could never find an opening in the schedule, always sold out. When I wrote them after the year was up I was told, too bad, if you would have told us we might have been able to work you in. Ridiculous, I have a job, I can't just drop everything because you had a cancellation. I write Ford, their answer..... That's Ford Performance, you'll have to take that up with them. What a complete and total ripoff (yes I was looking forward top going)
thats super unfortunate - I booked as soon as I got my invite. I didnt have any issues. Mine was back in 2016 however. The staff was great when I was there as well. Ford doesn't do much at all to help... I had that experience with my car being fixed.
