Emilio Butragueoño was a member of the legendary 5 man group of Real Madrid called *La Quinta Del Buitre.* The term means 'The Vulture's cohort' & was derived from Emilio's nickname *El Buitre (The Vulture).* The other 4 members of the band were Manuel Sanchis, Michel, Miguel Pardeza & Rafael Martin Vazquez. All of them came to the first team after growing up at Real Madrid's academy, 'La Fabrica'
Together they won 2 UEFA cups (current Europa League) & 5 consecutive league titles. The reason they're not as famous as the Galacticos is probably due to less marketing & the failure to win the European Cup (current Champions League). However, they're domestic success is still unmatched.
And you have to add Hugo Sanchez the Mexican Striker.
UEFA Cup in the 80`s was much more strong than Europa League nowadays (I remind you that in UEFA Cup played the best second, third and fourth teams of each league in the previous season). They were very famous in Spain, and if you did not know about them before is not because of marketing, but because in the 80`s very few fans used to follow other leagues. And they won 5 consecutive ligas, but that record also was made by Real Madrid since 1960/61 to 1964/65.

Galacticos havent won UCL. and were mostly a failure sporting-wise. but had greatest PR machine at that time. they were mostly known for parties and celebrity gossip. and Beckham. lol. Marcó una época en los 80, personalmente mi favorito era Hugo Sánchez pero eran diferentes, el Buitre era clase, pausa, regate y elegancia, además de acierto a la hora de definir, si hubiesen ganado alguna copa de europa puede que hubiese sido balón de oro algún año.
