A walking and talking piece of history with more energy and pride then today’s 20 year olds. Thanks Bob for sharing your knowledge and keeping the Model A community energized.
Paul, great to see Bob and hearing his knowledge of the heart beat of the Model A. His wisdom is refreshing to hear and keeping his experience alive with these videos. Ken, have a great weekend.
It was such a treat for me to meet Bob when I came to California last June. He is a wealth of knowledge and experience and so willing to share and teach eager students! Thank you Bob and Paul for everything you do!
Thanks Hal!
man it sure is good to see the old timers sharing there knowledge people will be seeing this video for decades to come and leaarning from it
Much love from Australia Bob. Gold nuggets of information every time you do a video. Keep em coming mate.
You Tube has a new star!! I hope I have half Bob's faculties when I reach that age, which isn't that long from now! Thank you, Paul and Bob. Do more of these please!!
Thanks!! Bob is in quite a few of my videos
I've seen them all!Even your transmitter ones from years ago.
Paul so many thanks for posting this up and sharing Bob with us. My girlfriend loves watching too because she says he's like the perfect grandpa, another from the greatest generation.
Bob is from what we all call "The greatest generation". If WW2 broke out today, we'd lose. Soldiers are being taught pronouns! What the foxtrot?!!!!
@ModelA thankfully we have good technology because that's about all we have! JK!! We do have dedicated service men and women and I see them everyday. There certainly are some weak links in the chain but that's OK, there always have been. Who do ya think we're cleaning the latrines and peeling the potatoes? To me the difference is in the average Joe, today people aren't kind and don't help their fellow man. That and the expectations of young people are off the charts! Ok, rant over.
Bob, what a great job you are doing! You don't show your age. You act and look like a man of 60 years old. 😊
More Bob videos this guy is a national treasure.......................
Agreed! thanks
I always write thank you, and I always mean it. Mr Guimarin's knowledge, and his ability to communicate it, are truly impressive. Once again, I learned a ton in a very short period of time. Have a great week ~ Chuck. P.S. This is a big weekend for you - Congratulations again!
Great video Mr. Bob!! Let's do more.
I have to addy many thx to Paul, and Bob. The world is such a better place...
Thanks Randall
I love the BOB shows !! Paul, your comments on screen were helpful.
Definitely a guy I would love to work with. Love all knowledge
He will make fun of you if you mess up! Hahahaa
Some great info Bob! I’d like to know more about how oil has changed overtime.
Great video you learn something new every day !
Excellent video, and thank you, Bob, for all the information, Mike
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome. Your knowledge is so awesome!!
Bob is like the Model A encyclopedia
great job i wonder why he didnt put a gasket below the gears and bottom plate? my breakdown pix in snyders catalog shows a gasket there .
I always use a gasket.
Thanks Bob!
You are welcome!
Se ve muy interesante,es una lastima para los que te seguimos de otros paises, como en mí caso de Argentina, que no esté la opción de subtítulos a otros idiomas ,como los vídeos de Tina, que sí tiene subtitulos.gracias, saludos
Thank you :)
Bob, Did you sell your 1946 Mercury yet?
Nope.
Huh, so that's how those go together and work.
Yep!
Interesting
Thank you Bob! I hope I'm still wrenching if I make it to 93.If I pull my pan on my early 28,I need to turn the bolt ,or screw in before I pull the pan? Thank you all!
No
Fun video, nice to see Bob still at it. One note on full pressure jobs is to tap the block where the oil pump dowl goes in and put a 1/4 inch stud there and drill the pump accordingly so you can bolt the pump to the block. That prevents the pump from pushing itself out of it's socket when the engine is started cold. The relief valves are sometimes not enough with cold oil especially when the nut behind the wheel gets too enthusiastic with the throttle. Merry Christmas to you guys
How blessed you are having such a wealth of knowledge with Mr. Bob Guimarin around. He reminds me a lot of my dad, so good with his mechanical skills, sadly we lost him in 2015 to cancer. I'm sure you and Model T cherish him and his skills. Thanks for sharing and I hope Mr. Guimarin, Model T and you have a wonderful weekend!
Bob
With the pump being lubricated all the time do the bearings or bushings fail very often?
Thanks Steve
Almost never
Bob is a treasure. God bless him he has still got it. t am so glad Leah and got to meet him last summer at his shop. You are so blessed to have Bob around.
Steve
My dad was a ford man as well. If he were alive. He be 100. Today. He restored many 1930 s Ford's ..won national honors.with 3 of his..club c... I remember going with him to buy many old Ford's he called basket cases.. everything was restored to Ford specs.. vary nice content.. sadly everything today is lots of dam plastics crap...dad would be disappointed. In Ford in 2023...
Paul:
Thanks for the oil pump seminar, Bob is a walking encyclopedia Now would it be possible for you to give instructions about adding an oil filter? Thank You David Adair
An expert in many things and I know him for many of those and not for this. :) Hi Bob and talk to you soon! Cool vid! 🥰
Given they increased the shaft size (and output?) of the pumps, is it worth putting a newer pump in an early 1928? Not sure yet if the one I have works
Nah. Unless you're hot rodding it
🛠🪛👌Thanks Bob
Thank You Bob for some ---- GOOD ---- maintenance tip there ------ And Thank You Paul for making it happen ----- Rodney
I've been into Model A's for 25 years and know most of it. "Most" isn't "All". Although not much was new to me here, I did get the tip about leaving one bushing in to align the reaming of the other end.
On a side note, I have learned more from guys missing a finger than guys who still have all of them.
Paul, what is the recommended engine oil for a modal A? Also what do you recommend to clean a fuel tank/system after siting for nearly 20 yrs.
