Am I the only one who doesn't get excited when a new console is announced, I still like my switch and I don't wanna get rid of it, but now I'll have to make room for a whole new overpriced console in order to get new games, I'd rather they just make new games for the switch, it still feels recent to me

I have a lot of sentimental value attached to my switch as well. However, it is 7 years old, and with how fast technology advances, that's a pretty long time. For reference, there were only 5 years between the Gamecube and the Wii. By the time the new console releases, it will probably be close to a decade since we got the switch. In order to release bigger, better, nicer games, we need better hardware to run them. Sadly, the Switch is an old console now. I'll still be keeping mine, but we are approaching the end of an era.
Yeah Switch is plenty powerful and it's a great design, being both portable and able to play on a big screen. Only thing is they should update the joycons because stick drift is such a big problem on them.
@@Kragatar It's definitely not powerful though, the steam deck now that's powerful! (I still prefer Nintendo though)
I just wish Nintendo would get with the times and have compatibility with PC. Even if they were to use their own browser in the same way EA or Sony does instead of through steam. Just something to catch it up graphically with all other systems and to make it accessible for old fans. They worry so much about piracy but make it so fans that want accesss to old games have no other choice.
I hope they update island editing/decorating to how it is in your own home 😭
Right???!!! Decorating outside your home is sooo tedious and difficult, and sometimes literally impossible to place certain items without the god controls

a new console is important if we also want to have better quality games. If you look at how much the older switch models struggle to run some games even compared to newer ones, light, or OLED, it makes a difference. If we don't want bugged out messes of future games but also want games to be better, then we need a new console.
I just hope whatever iterations of the next consoles that come out have a "docked only" version with a bit more power behind it. The switch is 7 years old, it will probably be almost 10 by the time the next console comes out. We need a new console or have them start releasing on PC.

It's business unfortunately. I'm usually less inclined to support a company that abandons old platforms though! I'm not interested in buying every new console and never will be! I just want to enjoy what I have. 🤷

for me, either Animal Crossing or Pokemon. I do love me some Zelda, but I still haven't even 100%d BotW and there is still TotK after it (playing a lot of other games too) so I'll be set with stuff to do until we get one of the two
I did that with original switch and because of that I was able to buy a ACNH themed one. I will do it with the new one too and hope they make a new AC themed one too.

They should remake a few of the og games for switch ports. Because then people who havent played the other games can finally play them

I bought my switch in August of 2020. I was sad when they released a new animal crossing version later because I couldn’t justify buying another switch with the ACNH controllers and dock with the special backing for the switch. I really want to wait until they come out with the animal crossings version but I know they might not make one and it will be a couple of years older I am sure by the time they do.
I don't know what to say except for Bob's Gang.
My Son bought me the Switch Lite and the Switch OLED but now he's at another place of employment and probably won't be able to buy me a new console and as I'm on Ontario Disability 🇨🇦 there's no way I'll be able to purchase one for myself 😢

"We're going to announce a new console by 2025" is a roundabout way of saying "Switch still has a good two years to go before it gets replaced". Probably will be at least another year after announcement before the new console actually releases.
I'm just curious what the new console will be like. I hope they stick with the dockable handheld format. I was skeptical at first but it's actually a brilliant design, being able to play either on a big TV or portable, depending on how your day is going.

Just because there is no new stuffs for ACNH, it doesn't mean it's a disappointing moment.

I’m still playing ACNH since it came out during covid. My goal is to collect every item, which includes villager photos so I’ll be playing for a while. And when I get nostalgic I bust out the original AC or New Leaf. City Folk and Wild World were less engaging so I don’t really play those.

Why do you dig a hole for a shrub instead of just placing it? You would save the shovel power especially I’d you’re planting a lot.
Just habit honestly, also it allows me to have a more precise placement. Sometimes, you can accidentally place things in the wrong spot and that’s annoying with starts

Whether we get a new Animal Crossing or not, all I want is for them to bring 3 main things back to the series, even if these things come back to ACNH itself (or an updated Switch 2 version of it):
1. Music. ACNH probably has the worst music in the series. Gamecube version was the best but even Wild World and New Leaf's
music was alright. ACNH's music is just depressing for the most part and lacks the vibes the previous games had.
2. Sound effects: ACNH's sound effects are alright but the classic sound effects from the previous titles just hit differently.
3. Villager personalities + Errands: Villager personalities were much better in previous titles. Villages were just funny, quirkier and had more flair. It was also really fun being able to do deliveries freely for them and then getting various rewards that you would look forward to. ACNH for whatever reason basically got rid of this feature which is one of the things I liked most about Animal Crossing and interacting with the villagers. Make the villagers quirkier and funnier again. They're like robots now. Add the option that existed in the gamecube version "Need any help?" and then let us make deliveries/pick stuff up for rewards for our beloved villagers freely again.
I think it would be cool if they added a little more texture to the triangle grass while still making it look like it’s from a animal crossing game 💕
mhm yeah well if there comes a new acnh i'm not gonna buy it. I'm not leaving cube, apple, billy, mira, june, judy, cheri, freckels, fauna and chrissy. Nah ah. Especially not cube. Never. And i don't have the money for it :>
Probably the longest wait I ever experienced for a new entry to a beloved franchise. Mostly because NH was such a massive disappointment that I wish Nintendo would just release a new Animal Crossing game tomorrow. I just hope that they have actively listened to the fans feedback and won't make this new one worse then the last...

The amazing thing is I just started animal crossing for the first time. Very Late to the party. Never thought I would like it , and bought it on a wimb. Totally got hooked. But there is zero of anything online anymore. No idea how you supposed to get the different fruits.

In Animal Crossing *New Horizons,* players letting each other visit their areas is nice; but it's stupid how that became the only way they can hang out with each other and become friends!
*I care about other players more than myself😞:* The multiplayer content from Animal Crossing New Leaf was wrongly left out of Animal Crossing New Horizons😡; it needs to make it's return in the next Animal Crossing game!😄

Ima be honest I dont care about them releasing a new console until they release a new Animal crossing and it's the only way I can play it 😂 I have bought 4 switches all because of this game and I remember what a pain in the ass it was just to get the consoles. They even had my old ass standing in line for ac amiibo cards too 😂 I'm sure a ton of ppl feel this way too. There is no point in upgrading consoles for me. I feel like if they were smart and wanted big sales they would drop the new console and the new game at the same time, not wait.
I want to see a remake or port of City Folk/Let's Go to The City on the Switch. Nintendo hasn't made a remake of this Animal Crossing game yet, and it's been 15 years since it came out, so it makes sense for Nintendo to remake this game.
New Horizons would get dropped like a bad habit if New Leaf is released on Switch...
