So true, I always felt pairing with Jwala was seriously bad for her. If she had gotten a better partner early on it would have been so good for her. Some matches of her with Sikki Reddy were also quite good. :)
Once she was paired with sindhu in uber cup and they as a team nearly beat the highly ranked Japanese pair
No jwala was a star if you are a badminton lover jwala had unusual technique killer instinct and powerful smashes ,she was little slow but she used to cover that with deceptions

Ponappa can easily get films and TV ads after stopping badminton (purely based on looks, not her sports achievments).
She is an extremely good badminton player first. She happens to be a stunner is secondary. Total package in my opinion :-)

I KNOW at this point in time she has mostly spent her time in doubles at the international level but MARINA was not a joke to play and defeat.... And she does not only played really good but also won the game... Worth trying for singles ... If not now then never... No one knows how much she'll play ...
Agreed! you should know about Indian politics as well in sports Ashwini beating Marin and i have never heard of ponappa's name other than doubles somewhere something fishy no doubt India has 0 gold medals in current Olympics. Atleast corruption,politics,nepotism should not happen in Education and Sports otherwise the country becomes shame in front of the world
@@thomsonjohnson8218YAAH like although now PONNAPPA is kinda taking retirement so yaa kinda another athelete got wasted , but yaah coming to the Olympic one ....idk why but in INDIA I feel yaah there is lot of corruption, nepotism and politics etc.. but another thing is our society and mindset we do not consider sports as a career option yet , we do maybe appreciate the person's achievements in sports in international level and all but no one wants to be the "parents" or the "support" of the individual from the start.... We literally spend almost 0 money in sports development and infrastructure apart from cricket as compared to our huge population... No matter what anyone says CHINA is a perfect example in terms of population and success ratio ... and not just china ... Small populated countries like AUSTRALIA, SOUTH KOREA etc Also are way ahead of us ... I just don't know if maybe i could anyhow see INDIA in top 5 in the medal tally in Olympics😔 in the future... Seeing all the flaws our nation has ... Seems impossible in this life ... MAYBE NOT EVEN THE COMING 100 years 😔 SADLY ....
@@mridusharma07 I can understand your pain but sadly corruption,casteism, nepotism all this things are never going to be removed its quite funny that there will be more quota system in the future that is how politics works. South African cricket team is destroyed again due to quota system luckily for Indian cricket it is not present the day is not near where cricket will also have the same politics. Its shame in cricket as well inspite of huge infrastructure and everything after 13 years something India won World Cup that too T20 Huge wasted corrupted population. Even outsider of India who people call NRI even they are ashamed to call themselves as Indians all thanks to shameful politics,nepotism remember how politicians treated Mary Kom what about Brushan some guy did he got punishment for assaulting women? tell me without safety why will any player come to sports its easy to say in youtube comments section why nobody wants to be sports person answer lies in the present situation if Phogat sisters,SSR cannot get justice who will give justice to common man? If my child is good in sports i will say take Studies if he is residing outside the country then he can take sports as career as been an Indian sportsman condition and situation is really horrible. Just see how district,zonal competitions are conducted for any sport you yourself will get the answer why nobody wants to be sportsperson
@@thomsonjohnson8218 yep i also used to play CRICKET and was serious about it ... Then i left all because of politics, favouritism, and all ... Like i was giving the trials ... my academy was kinda reputed and trust me half of the people selected were because of some bribe and favouritism... Not all obviously, but it's like in between the trials one of the coaches in my academy came to the place where the trials were held , he stood with 1-2 people called 2 of my friends for batting and selected them ... Like i was waiting from the morning before the trials even started and these 2 guys came like after halfway through the trials and not waited for more than 15 minutes on the other hand the nets in which i was batting there was literally no selector in there there were 5 nets and only 2 of them had selectors when i batted ... In the start , all the 5 had selectors... And also not just in my academy but everywhere, people used to change their DOB to play longer.. like in my academy only if it was a U-12 match then max. 1 or 2 players used to play according to their ages rest all of the others were overaged and had altered their documents already... In U-14 too like there were matches in which i used to be benched and all the 11 players playing used to be over 14 years of age maybe some match 1 or max 2 players were below 14 ... It's just idk after that incident it was CORONA and i just left cricket after that...

@@rajatgadgero these people don't have the complete knowledge about the person whom they are commenting...Both are really good players and specially Carolina representing Spain where Badminton was not more expressed (at that time but now it's been expressed and known everywhere),she has a list of achievements.She has every major tournament title!Coming from Spain and being the solo European WS player to be in top 10 and breaking the Chinese dominance with some other Asian players is definitely great.Many say that she shouts violently and hates her...But I really appreciate her mental ability...I love her aggressiveness on court..Facing 2 Achilles injuries one after another and then to be back in top 10 at the age of 30 is really a huge achievement!
Coming to Ashwini,she was definitely a good WD player that India has seen during 2010...Although not that successful but definitely had a good partnership with Jwala and winning the bronze in BWC 2010,CWG medals etc...She also had a good success with Rankireddy in MIxed Doubles...
