- On May 28, 2022, 90's hip hop legends Digable Planets lit up the stage with classic performances of “It’s Good To Be Here,” “Where I’m From,” “Nickel Bags,” “9th Wonder,” “The Ambassador” by E-40 and “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat).”
Digable Planets was part of a historic 7,000+ attendee Year 10 experience. After three reschedules due to the Pandemic, our Core Organizing Team persevered through 1,164 days of planning and execution to produce the event for Portland, OR.

Groups from De La Soul to Tribe Called Quest - We believe Digable Planets has a seat at that table because they were trailblazers - fusing jazz rap with R&B and melodic rhymes. The legendary Grammy winning trio-Mariana “Ladybug Mecca” Vieira, Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler and Craig “Doodlebug” Irving return to Portland for Year 10 to perform their greatest hits. To hear that iconic bass line on "Rebirth" and to see the bass player not playing, is not a great look.
That’s probably because it wasn’t a bass playing, it was a Cello on the original track.
@@sonyapeach and zero cellos on stage and one bass player who could have handled the line, but didn’t. So they piped it in. But sure peach, go ahead and flex.
@@sonyapeach also, if a plucked cello plays a low-range line, it’s still considered a bass line.
Wish the music was original. That wah pedal effect on guitar/keyboard is kinda of annoying. Upright bass also needs to be mandatory. Love this group though. One of the best albums ever.
