Thanks for the video. I followed step-by-step and successfully replaced the bearings over the weekend. Took me about six hours total, but now the washer works like new! I don’t think I’d buy a front loader again.
Thanks for taking the time to make this how to do video. After reading all the comments I decided it might be a wasting of time to change it due to the risks of other failing parts afterwards.
Thanks for the video, it was extremely helpful for when I replaced the counterweight and front tub in mine. Note - for the heating element wires (4:08) you could leave the wires and just pull the heating element out. Just loosen the middle nut, and remember to tighten when putting back.
@@CareFree101101 good luck! My biggest tip is to be very patient when removing the old bearing and replacing the new bearing. If you if you hammer too hard you risk throwing the drum off balance.
What was that piece of metal just under the seal that you flicked away? Does it go back or was that part of the original seal? Asking because mine was the same way.
Great job and thanks for sharing! A couple of questions, I have a similar noise when in the highest spin setting otherwise the noise is normal. Did yours make noise at the low spin? How do you find out it was the bearing defect? Would you post the bearing part number so I can do a search?
It was mostly on high spin although it got worse overtime. If it starts getting worse I would say it's your bearing. I was never 100% confident that it was the bearings but it apparently was and the noise went away once changed.
Hi Emil, it the washing machine still running well with its new bearings? An update now that it has been 12 months would be most useful. Cheers from Australia!
Hi Dee Bee, in full transparency no. While it works and the bearings are quiet, it has developed a balance issue which could likely be from me not being patient and careful enough when hammering out the original bearings.
I have the same noise PLUS banging noises during the spin. I think this banging may be due to bad shocks. Our Samsung FL washer cost $600+. Buy new is probably about the same cost $$$ to hire pros to fix both problems. I’ve watched a few how-to videos on the fixes. Still debating if I should or not! One video I saw was labor intensive to get to the bearings 🤷♂️🤷♂️🙁🙁. Makes me not want to do it. Seeing yours isn’t that bad to do on my own 🤔🤔😁😁 -*** I noticed you did not grease the outer bearing before you banged it in, but you applied it after. Was it hard to bang in?
The bearing was difficult to bang in. I recommend greasing it. I may have done that off camera but I can't recall. The biggest thing to remember is that you need to be patient. If you bang in the bearing too impatiently and hard you risk impacting the balance of the entire drum assembly.
Thanks for the video, very helpful. Do you know what the bearing sizes were? I assume Samsung are using cheap bearings, I'd prefer to replace with a premium brand if i can!
"Bearing ... on ebay" - chances are you bought a counterfeit part. Same applies to Samsung. Considering how new the machine looks, I suspect they got scammed by their supplier (or the supplier's supplier) and installed a counterfeit bearing right in the factory as well.

I think this is a SAMSUNG thing and it happened to me too. I say we should file a class action suit.
Have bought same Samsung crap 1 year ago, right after the warranty expired I started to notice same noise 🥴. Thanks for the video 👍

Great video but the link to the bearings on eBay you included no longer exists
Saved me a ton of time and prevented breaking that clip. Thank you!
Thanks for the video! it helped me see how complex it is to replace this part and I will be calling a technician 🙂
Good job sir! I am mid bearing order stage with a gutted washing machine currently. I hope I have as much luck as you did.

I’m sold on not buying . And it was going to be the flex. 😳🤨Thank you
I've got this and thing going on with a washer I bought BRAND NEW 2 years ago😡
What was that piece of metal just under the seal that you flicked away? Does it go back or was that part of the original seal? Asking because mine was the same way.
This is part of the original seal and needs to be reinstalled after. It's just a spring loaded metal ring.
@@emildejong3169 thank you
@@emildejong3169 What is the number to that metal ring?
It looks like the washer-spring (6031-001640) sits an o-ring on the shaft. I assume this washer is to protect the seal on reassembly.
What model of washing machine is it?
Great job and thanks for sharing!

Great video thank you. Does the inner bearing have a marker to know when to stop ?
Yes

Did any of your bearings have a snap ring
I don't think so.
Bearing model please
I bought these. Samsung Washer Seal Bearing Kit DC97-16151B DC62-00156A DC97-16509C Bearings
DC97-16509C comes up as the shaft assembly, not the 3rd bearing. Sigh😞

Think im better just buying a new one looks a mission to take that apart and put back together without breaking something 🤯

Good video bro.. very detailed 👌
Worst washer ever. Had a cheapo Whirlpool that lasted 21 years. My Samsung front loader lasted 1 yr. Garbage product.
Ours is 13 years old. 5 people in our house and lots of laundry. It just recently started making the bearing noise.
Heu ginante
POS isn't worth the labor
damn pos bearings
This ain't even worth the time and effort lol
The washer is $600-$700 new it's definitely worth the time and effort + you learn a new skill
@@cudelsxno brainer lol part was probably $20
Just say you're not handy lol
Just buy American
My Samsung front loader IS American made, says right on it. So, it’s American junk, and rattling like crazy
American assembled
