Excellent informational video! I’ve leaned more in the past 6 minutes than the months of searching for logical explanations why skis are made the way they are. Thanks!
Steve McCartney, racing is a very different world Hirscher skis on 165's in slalom which is required by FIS rules. It's all about the turn radius and for men's slalom it's 13m or 160-165cm skis. As the disciplines go on you get into longer much more aggressive skis. Hirscher is a very aggressive skier and he does have much longer skis. Along with slalom Hirscher also competes in all other disciplines (gaining him the overall title) all disciplines have different lengths of skis. Again racing gets really really complicated the more you get into it. Generally a longer ski works better for more seasoned skiers and racers alike. Hope this helps :)
This is the first time that I have to say, Thanks Adam this is a very good and educational skies video!

Why am I watching this when I already know how to buy skis?
Because you don't want to be doing chores or working.
Make a better video to teach us, I’m back and still haven’t figured how 🤷🏽♀️
@@attocoulomb So true! xD
