Yeah, the real Richard laughs. See the IT Crowd bloopers/outtakes/deleted scenes probably recommended in the right rail. He just usually plays up his image as the persnickety straight man.

I am from the US and only know this show from the clips. But I have to say that Richard is just a hoot with his weirdly understated resistance to the actual travel. And two of the guests, Dawn French (I think) and Alice Levine, are just delightful.

Absolutely. It's taken me weeks to pinpoint exactly why I am so obsessed with him and that is one of the reasons. Having watched him in other inteviews, an episode where he's interviewed with or by Larry David would be hilarious.

So that viewing of the 5D film... I mean the other people in there had been made aware that these two would be talking loudly throught, right ? And their tickets had been paid yes ?
Knowing Richard there's no way in any universe he'd talk that loud in a theater without others permission lol
I would think they watched the movie once and were asked to sit through it again so they can film this.
I think the clue would have been the large production crew, boom operator and cameras...
@@stewrmo yeah, but I mean they'd still have to warn you in advance wouldn't they ? Once you see them coming in the theater, sure, you figure it out. But once you're in the theater, you've paid your ticket and it's too late anyway. I'd be a bit angry if I paid for a ticket and then a camera crew walked in... Not exactly an optimal experience...
