Audience restrictions limited due to covid rules, Miyako was four and a half months pregnant, and still they bite better than most, these ladies have no rivals, they are their own unique genre. And apart from the musical perfection throughout, Asami's vocals are next to none which is enhanced with the mesmerising presence on stage she projects. I concur with you, 10/10 🤘🎤🎸🎹🥁🐺
LOVEBITES are not just superb musicians, they've distinguished themselves as exceptional songwriters. This is heavily influenced by their classically-trained background and their deep respect for the global metal tradition. They've covered less than a handful if songs like Judas Priest's Painkiller and Helloween's Eagle Fly Free. Their classically-trained pianist Miyako covered piano interpretations (EP and recent piano recital) of songs by Metallica, Deep Purple, Gary Moore, Yngwie Malmsteen. What further sets LOVEBITES apart from even the best of Japanese rock/metal bands is their decision to write and sing in English - a daunting task for native Japanese speakers (hence why few take on this challenge). When you delve deeper in their catalog, and when really intrigued me was that they don't just write and sing English lyrics, they write meaningful lyrics that often tackle deep personal and global themes that typically motivate and inspire ... and yet flow with their music (let that sink in ... Not easy!). If you're familiar with Japanese culture which puts a premium on conformity, LOVEBITES approach to their lyrics is not the norm.
I completely agree with you. 👍LOVEBITES also recorded 'Love Bites (So Do I)', a cover of the HALESTORM song. This cover was included in the Life Album 'Invitation to the Theater - Live in Tokyo 2019' (2CD, released: January 2020)
Love this song! A brutal thrash yet melodic song. If this came out in the 80s, would've been an all time classic. It is a classic now for me! Great reaction and look forward to more! I think you're ready for Swan song w/Chopin intro live 2020 and A Frozen Serenade live 2021. Both of these PERFORMANCES set them apart and above all other heavy metal bands. Two 10s...LOVE IT!!🤘
That was a great reaction! The quality of your videos is simply amazing. It’s always more pleasant to watch your favorite videos with people if the quality of the video is good. This is their original song. The music for this song was composed by Miyako and the lyrics by Asami. Almost all the music is written by the band members. And they also have several covers. And I think this song is my favorite. Although with Lovebites this is debatable, because every song you listen to becomes your favorite. If you want to listen another thrash song from Lovebites, you can try their song "Break the wall". But if you want something special, please, watch their live video "Swan song with Chopin Intro" (yes, it must be with Chopin intro). Both of these videos are not on their official RUclips channel, but you can easily find them on RUclips by name. Thank you for the reaction! More Lovebites on the channel!
These ladies were phenomenal, full of joy with what they were doing. Haruna playing thrash beat with a smile..it's nothing 🤭. Miho compact bass line. M&M mind boggling duet solo. Asami high energy voice. They're packed of awesomeness 👍🤘
The whole band is writing these songs (including a sixth songwriter, Mao). The three usual covers are listed in the checklist: "Eagle Fly Free" (Helloween), "Love Bites (So Do I)" (Halestorm), "Painkiller" (Judas Priest). Former bassist Miho wrote a lot of the (more thrashy) songs, but Miyako wrote almost half of the songs, while Asami did most of the lyrics in English. Drummer Haruna wrote the only Japanese song "Bravehearted" for their first EP, which was later re-released on their first album with English lyrics.
Thanks for your reaction. At 'ProgPowerUSA' on September 6, 2024 (the third day of the festival), AMORPHIS and LOVEBITES are already announced as headliners. I read in the press that the duration of the LOVEBITES set should be 90 minutes (planned). LOVEBITES (2016-2023) : Haruna - drums Miho - bass guitar, backing vocals, bandleader (left the band in August 2021) Midori - blonde/ guitars, backing vocals Miyako 'Mi-ya' - brunette/ guitars, piano, keyboards, backing vocals Asami - lead vocals , piano Fami - bass guitar, backing vocals ( from October 2022) LOVEBITES has 55 original songs + 3 original musical compositions. This number does not include covers (rock music and classical music), which are also performed by the band and Miyako (piano). The main poets are Asami (#1) and Miho (#2). The main composer is Miyako. She wrote about 50% of LOVEBITES music You made reactions to the songs of LOVEBITES: 'Set the World on Fire' (lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) 'Liar' (lyrics - Dr. U/ music - Miyako) 'Judgement Day' (lyrics - Asami / music - Midori, Asami, Mao) 'Stand and Deliver(Shoot 'em Down)' (lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako, Asami) 'Holy War' (lyrics - Asami, Haruna, Midori, Miho, Miyako / music - Mao) Since 2017, LOVEBITES have released : 3 EPs, 1 Single, 4 Studio Albums, 5 Live Albums (the sixth Life will be released in December 2023), 1 Compilation Album ; 7 DVDs/Blu-rays (the eighth DVD/Blu-ray will be released in December 2023 year); 11+1 Music Videos (MV Winds of Transylvania in two versions: with anime and without anime). Several documentaries have been released (behind the scenes of concerts; demonstrations by band members of their musical instruments and the equipment they use; interviews with band members; Сompetition '5 Element' - search for a bassist in 2022, etc.)
This was the last Concert with Original bassist Miho who left in August of that year They got Fami in summer of 2022. Fami's first album with the band was Judgement Day followed by the concert set of Live from Heaven's Gate.

In my comment on the original videoclip, I wrote "On a quality scale from 1 to 10, Lovebites play on 11!" The studio version of this song is definitely my favourite song on "Electric Pentagram" and I think this live version is at least as good. Being an old school Thrash Metal fan, I'd put this song in my top 3 songs by Lovebites, together with the live version of "Break the Wall" from 2020 and "The Hammer of Wrath", though thinking about "Dissonance" and "Soldier Stands Solitarily" from their current album, I will have to solve the conundrum how to squeeze 5 songs into a top 3. I might as well say it's a draw between all five songs and put them all on no. 1.
The "E" Trilogy is a great set of songs "Edge of the World", Empty Daydream, and Epilogue (Probably will find the Epilogue version with "Don't Bite The Dust")
last show with basser miho, last show for more than two years. and miyako (writes around 70% of their songs)was in the second trimester of her pregnancy. great song and perfomance. and thanks for your appreciation of them. enjoy the ride. they have no bad or mediocre song,
Great reaction, I suggest Break The Wall, live 2021, Tokyo. Crazy note solo, both guitars, drummer Haruna insane, perfect, thank you reacting Lovebites
If you like thrash, then you need to watch "Break the Wall" from their 2020 tour. If you close your eyes, you would swear it was Slayer in the beginning. And Miyako's Gary Moore inspired guitar solo is a thing of beauty. Just a suggestion. I would love to see what you think of it. FYI... Miyako (the dark haired guitarist) wrote and arranged the music and Asami (the vocalist) wrote the lyrics for this song. Take care!

LOVEBITES - Set The World On Fire lyrics:
The blue moon colors the blaze
Stabbing myself with the thunder
The predetermined imitation
An emotionless and a fearless smile
Flowing blood and crimson blade
Devastated resolution
Heat haze is waving far away
Who’s going to be sacrificed?
ON FIRE
Just like a falling flower
ON FIRE
Until this body rots away
Burning down to the Gates of Hell
Distorted madness is sneering
Incompetent, cowardly fools
A pitiful and painful punishment
It’s you who will be sacrificed
ON FIRE
Dressed in an armor of steel
ON FIRE
If I’m burned again and again
I’ll rise up from the Gates of Hell
SOLO: midori / miyako / both
The blue moon colors blaze
Stabbing myself with the thunder
The predetermined imitation
An emotionless and fearless smile
SOLO: miyako
Flowing blood and crimson blade
Devastated resolution
Heat haze is waving far away
Who’s going to be sacrificed?
ON FIRE
Just like a falling flower
ON FIRE
Until this body rots away
Burning down to the Gates of Hell
