After hearing this - I literally broke my own leg - and took up repairing sandals. I have not looked back as I cannot turn around. Eventually, a doctor repaired my leg - stating prayer (or personal opinion) had nothing to do with it. I know worship science and spend my time free and at ease.

What is important for you to truly know God (based on the Holy Bible) and not this newage stuff, if to study God's Holy Word (KJV) and meditate on God's Holy Word day and night, not empty out our minds like satanic mystics do. To pray according the the scriptures and not based on what the heathens do.
      Matthew 6:7 kjv
“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.”
      Psalm 1:1-3 kjv
      1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
      2. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
      3. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

I am planning to listen to this message but will say from the outset that the title is a problem for me, perhaps a warning. Is the presence of God a "practice", a tedious discipline, the result of human religiousity? Or is it the outflowing experience of a relationship? Would a wife say that she is pursuing the practice of her husband's presence? Would a child say he is practicing the presence of his loving parents? So, I am hoping the content of this message can rise above its title. I may post another comment if I can listen with some profit of learning.

I totally understand what you’re saying, but I think God knows and fully understands that He created us as creatures of habit and that what we practice become who we are. I don’t think His feelings are hurt by the title of the book. I mean no disrespect to you by this comment either, but perhaps you could see another angle of looking at it.
I interpreted it as an intentional way of stewarding our habits out of a much needed self control that is thoroughly lacking in our society(US). I believe much of my destructive behaviors and thought patterns are habitual and they came about as a result of a number of unhealthy practices, essentially choosing my will over God’s in all of the little areas of my life.
Adam and Eve were commanded to steward and guard the Garden of Eden and they shirked that responsibility by allowing evil to stay rather than kick it out. I do believe in our fallen, sinful state we must take all the more precautionary measures in guarding this sweet, undeserved presence of The holy, loving, awesome God in our lives. We must practice kicking out bad habits and practice indulging in the beautiful ones. this allows a more unhindered relationship with the Almighty! Stewarding our habits in a beneficial way isn’t religiosity. It’s simply recognizing that we’re broken creatures of habit and that we constantly having to keep our “loves” or habits in check. God bless you! :)

it would be so easy, at the same time, so difficult to consider oneself worthy of the presence of God at all times. Nevertheless, getting closer to the end, hopefully we are getting nearer to reaching this state of constant conversation with Him/Her, here practice makes perfect, eventually!

Him/her? God is Him. He is our Father and the Father of Jesus Christ. Not trying to be legalistic but no where in the bible does it mention God as a her. Blessings.

Omni present is what come to my mind. What Dale always talked about. Yes I do wrong at times when My action are making me think I am right for my thoughts and action. Alanon pointed out to me , that we as a person can think 🤔 with our minds all we want ,but when we act or say something at the present time we may find out we are totally wrong. So many times life is difficult to understand so one shall be quite and let God work his power because he is the only God that can change people. God will let us suffer as punishment for our wrong doings. A free society is not always free because when we are struck down by God for our doings. We pay the price by punishment. I say nothing a lot of times because I do not want to be held accountable for my choice words that can harm someone emotionally. I am only Human and I make sins daily.. I may not realize what I have done wrong until months later. Sorry for all I have done dear God please give me forgiveness because I stepped out of line. It is Gods job to work his powers and leave me at rest and peace. Later.

Kudos. To Be like a child in awe of our Papa, to want to be like and do with Him, Walk with Him. When we Stumble we learn, Repent, think new Godly, and He picks us up. To Be with us, even when we do not see. Blessed are those who believe and do not see....Jesus's words. We are blessed in our Secret life with God which become real in our lives and visible through our bodies.

I love the idea of having "conversations with God" all day, but this thing about not praying for relief of someone's suffering is going too far, IMO... why not pray for someone's healing and happiness, Sheesh!! God being Love would only want the best for His children
