In RS3, whenever a new skill comes out, they disable xp lamps and bonus xp for new skills for a few months. It wouldn't surprise me if they did the same for a new skill in osrs
osrs will just create a tbow spawn instead
Osrs is diff then rs3 osrs you can't buy lamps and max a skill like rs3 that's why rs3 sucks dick osrs you actually have to do stuff to lvl up to max
Props on providing a reason for lamps possibly not being a viable strat, instead of trying to tear a man down (ostensibly for its own sake)

@@mikeanon641 MTX isn't the only factor though. I'm sure if Jagex is going to put time and money into a new skill, they want players to experience everything they made, including lower level things that you could simply "skip" with lamps.

Yeh, I can't imagine them allowing XP lamps on the new skill. Was about to point out that RS3 always does this, and it's probably going to be the same with OSRS, but seems like the comments here already pointed that out.
Yeah but RS3 does it because of the MTX lamps. Which is a bit different than the normally achievable lamps you can get in OSRS.
If they weren't going to before then they definitely will do it now.
I think it will be funny when XP lamps get a date restricted so only lamps after release can give XP

Instead of de-ironing your tileman you could have used your main for raids and get dark relics… you might get some cute diary lamps but you just gave someone like solomission an idea to get the whole 99 banked before its even released. Which is why they wont allow xp boosts at beginning most likely
Dark relics are only usable on the skills you can use in CoX. They have added things to it in the past, but it’s not everything.
@@nathanharmon8971 This isn't true. They simply give more XP to skills you use within COX. So its more worthwhile to choose them.
Pip did 11h of agility in order to lvl up a skill that may take another 2 years with xp lamps that will most likely be disabled during the first months of the new skill. Now THAT is dedication.
This new skill. won't be out in 2023. The date is TBD in their schedule anyway. Its likely to take a few months to even get a fully revised concept into the polls, then pass it, then develop it. I'd almost place money on this skill being 2024 content if it comes at all.

Theres no way you used the term "carefully planned" and are not aware jagex blocks any lamp exp gains for first months of every new skill

@@mkultravictim3917 elite lamps are 50k exp in any skill above level 70. I'm not sure on the levels for the others but I recently got an elite done and I remember it saying that

They typically disable the ability to put xp lamps into a brand new skill for a while, at least in RS3. I can imagine they would do the same for OSRS.

i hope this New SKill is completely original and not thought of before by Jagex. no Sailing, no summoning nor warding. I hope this new skill is not a buyable skill, I want players to engage in said activity. Seeing the Title makes me hope you think the same.

Plus if you guys get summoning you are going to have to grind hours to get charms to make the pouches so hope you have a good slayer level cause the slayer monsters drop charms more then non slayer monsters.

There's no way you're going to be able to lamp the level from lvl 1. 500 hours are going to be wasted.
What if you need lvl 30 or 50 in that new skill to use the lamps???

Also make sure to get high agility incase the skill requires running around
If you do it with two accounts, you can have both accounts boost and then have one of them collect skill tradeables to give to the other, or to try out multiple training methods at once.

More then anything new skill races to worlds first 99 have been dominated by one thing. MONEY. If you don't have a few bil banked up I don't see anyone getting worlds first outside of irons. Archeology was a great skill but needed up being one massive money fight, if you couldn't afford the chronotes to keep all buffs active at all times then you weren't gonna win. Whatever elements or items needed for the new skill will be heavily bought out instantly and I don't see you getting first without a massive bank.
