For those who couldn't see what he was doing after he added the second material, he basically used select tool (to the right of your screen, in between assign and deselect) and changed the second materials color (just the color) and then uses shift + left click to select every other vertical column (tbh idk how he did it but i just selected every piece in every other vertical column) and then presses assign button (to the left of select)

use 0.25x im an absolute noob (cant even make a basic cup without a tutorial) with a absolutely trash pc (so trash i need to reduce resolution to 480p in blender and it still crashes lmao) and i finished it (with like 4 crashes) in a half hour from start to finish
