Haplogroups I, J, and K, including their subclades, are believed to have originated in Central Asia. Over time, various subgroups migrated to different regions, and Haplogroup J, in particular, became prevalent in the Middle East.
Ive done 4 different DNA kits. All pretty much have the same results. 78-80% Iberian, Greek , Canary Islands, and 8% western Ashkenazi. I remember my dad telling me he was a Jew, the reason i was circumcised as a baby, but he never elaborated on that. Now much older, i find out from my sister we are all a bunch of Jews whose background is from Jews that left Spain. My grandmother's last gift to me, a small star of David. I sure would like to find out where I come from!! Family traditions all point jewish. From burial within 24 hrs, to eating 12 grapes on new years. Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to who or where i can find the most definitive information on jewish genealogy?
I had my DNA tested I am from the Haplogroup A2, and revealed that I have ancestry of Ashkenazi, but I also have Sephardic.. Which actually confused me at first, and questioned how can I have both? but through some light research I did find that through mixing of the gene pool its very possible. I am 53.1% indigenous American, and 34% Spain and Portugal ancestry, plus other percentage scattered ancestries throughout the timeline
On it’s own it tells you that you share a genetic ancestor with many others around the globe who all carry oral traditions of being descended from Israelite Cohanim, which supports the accuracy of the claim.

Very interesting, thank you!
Great presentation, thanks!
How much does the "Cohen Modal Haplotype" tell you by itself?
It tells you J isn't the original Shemites
On it’s own it tells you that you share a genetic ancestor with many others around the globe who all carry oral traditions of being descended from Israelite Cohanim, which supports the accuracy of the claim.
