Just finished reading The Cosmic Serpent, had it lying around for about a year before I finally picked it up as I was certain I wasn't ready to fully appreciate it.
By god I wish I had picked it up earlier, what an amazingly insightful piece of work!

Theres also an excellent Radiolab podcast about the symbiosis between fungi and trees and how they share nutrients and communicate over a vast network. Episode is called From Tree to Shining Tree 2016.

It's always funny seeing science finally catching up with ideas and concepts understood by hippies for decades, and "indigenous people" for millennia.
Western culture is coming to it's senses ;)

A cell can construct a live cell from scratch (from simple food molecules). Human molecular biologists, biochemists,... cannot even dream of bioengineering feats like that. A single cell in your little toe knows physics, chemistry and biology of life in a way that is far more effective for such tasks of molecular bioengineering than human way of knowing those fields.

Maybe we need to broaden our concepts and realise that "sight" is a capacity that covers more than having "functional eyes".

People sometimes ask me if I smoke cannabis and how often. I usually explain to them that plants are teachers and cannabis effects me like a psychedelic, so not so often.

Not a lot of intelligence displayed by some one who perpetually and loudly clears his throat into the mike with little or no consideration or appreciation for the discomfort and disgust it may cause others.
May well have interesting things to say- I will never know.
