@@mylurebox I'll need all the advantage I can get.. I'm hopeless with lures😄 I have Flat shads, Tango Shads, Fish traps & swim bait, minnows etc yet to land a flatty hopefully over xmas i land a dozen

A great session John. It will be great to get some extra rigs for the spare plastics in the packs. If the first one is bitten off or lost, it’s a hassle but not impossible to make up a new rig.

Another great Vid John, just realised I bought a packet of 3 green Color’s from your first batch as some Color’s weren’t available by the time I place my order. Wouldn't you know it, the one colour I haven't bought off you yet John, is the one doing all the damage. Looks like I'll have to grab a couple of those Flathead coloured ones off you Johnny before they're all gone, I don't think that colour was in the first batch was it and all sold out when I placed the second order. I gave my dentist a pack of mixed coloured Soft Glides to try out. He's a avid angler as well, showed me a picture of a beast of a Barra he caught up in Townsville fishing with he's Dad about a year or more ago, just over 130cm long, big and fat. He's not a big man by any stretch of the imagination but god that fish made him look small. Cracking session by the way John and as enthusiastic as ever, which is great to see. I reckon those lures would do well on the Jew fish as well down around the Spit, may just need a bit weight to get them down a bit in that fast running water around the Spit.
Yeah mate the Baby Flathead colour are legit. Def. One of my favourites and brilliant across so many conditions. There’s been a few good Jew taken on em. Barra too. There’s a lot to be excited about with how they capture the interest of those bigger fish. Some really cool stuff in the pipeline as well mate

Hi Luke. the combo I run is a 3000 Shimano Vanford on a Shimano BB HardRocker 832 MH rod. 10lb braid and 20lb leader and you’ll be all set to cast em a mile and enjoy the journey to your giants on the flats. Cheers mate ;)

Hi Guys, Just wondering what the Queensland state record is for dusky flathead? Why is a high 70cm - low 80 cm flattie is getting John so lit up?
Because he's doing it with lures, lures he designed himself. Catching several in a session and releasing them.
Yeah I know that John is catching flatties on lures he designed, is getting made & is selling - that's really fantastic and more power to him - I hope he makes millions out of it ala Starlo & Buschy. I'm curious about the average size of dusky flathead in the gold coast.
Guessing duskies must average a bit smaller on the gold coast than in NSW. Do you guys know what the record for Dusky flathead in Qld is?
Not trying to be funny about it, but I caught four duskies over 80cm as bycatch while targeting mulloway last year.
Mate thanks for your interest in the vids and support with my lures. Generally anything around that 80 or bigger is party time on any boat up here. A 90 on the Gold Coast is pretty rare from what I’ve seen and everyone I follow on social media. The meter fish has never been claimed in a flatty classic. I have seen fish that look the meter but waiting to see them on video and laid out on the mat for proof… not that it’s really needed. I’m sure they’re up here… just rare as and kept pretty quiet if they are getting taken.
I’ve seen plenty of 80s look like meteries swimming around too hahaa
