The foundation for advance techniques are having a firm grasp the the basics. I always learn something new reviewing your videos. Thank you for making them.
Excellent video! I picked up a two tips from it. I've be doing CAD and CAM work for about 7 years in Fusion 360 ( not fulltime, mostly 2D - cnc plasma cutter, up until 5 months ago when I acquired a cnc mill).
Very interesting vid, listened on the way to walk as i already consider my self competent with the CAM but will have to watch tonight as there where a couple of items you talked about that I want to understand better
I definitely like the workflow in fusion. It’s not perfect by any means but you cannot beat the CAM for the money. Download the free version and test it out you can do about 95% of all functions / abilities that fusion offers and decide later if you like it.
@JBWorx the wormflow in solidworks isnt perfect ither.. but the cam side of it is way more involded than it needs to be for what were doing with these hobby cnc machines
Nice video. Thanks! FYI, If you hover to the right of the entry box in places like the heights tab you will see a “vertical ellipsis” that will let you set a default user value for things like retract height so you don’t have to touch it again unless you change your mind :)
Yes, like I mentioned in the beginning you can set Your own defaults. I did not touch on that in this video … maybe should have. I cut about 10min worth of information out to get the video under 30min, people just don’t watch vids that long. However thank you for pointing it out I hope someone else will catch your point reading your comment. Oh yes forgot … I usually use templates for my cuts.
@@JBWorx sorry, missed that - should have guessed you knew. Also, I’m curious about your choice of the star bond medium instead of regular thin. Any specific reason?
I know you're going by RUclips analytics, but it is very untrue that people watch videos or even listen to them when they're longer than 30 minutes That's completely untrue. If the content is interesting, as in your content JB worx, If you made a 1 hour video I would probably watch it but a 30-45 minute video on a specific thing I would watch if it had enough information and pertain to me in the specific way that I was searching for. I noticed that you're always fighting the time constraints on RUclips and although I'm not a content creator and I'm speaking ignorantly I would suggest just as a viewer that you ignore all that and just make content the way you want to make content and put it up and people will like it or not like it they will subscribe or they will not subscribe. I hope you keep making videos though thank you for all that.
Thank you for your feedback. I think at the moment I have a bit of doom and gloom in my head as the last 2 videos did not do well and I like to grow my channel and my website. For a really long time I never asked for a like and as of today I don’t ask for a subscription as you said it either fits or it does not and the person that finds value will subscribe. This analytics that RUclips provides is quite interesting you can see over time how many people are still watching … it’s quite amazing. I think we all have less of an attention span nowadays with these “reels” on Facebook and there sites. Again thanks for being on board, people like you are the reason I make this content!
Thank you for the video really enjoyed it. I was searching for fusion 360 tutorials as I appear to have got my Z axis pointing in the wrong plane and I’m still unsure how to put this right. I will be checking out your other videos. Thank you
Excellent that you enjoyed watching it. You can change the default orientation of the axis by clicking on the bubble on the top right with your account initials, then Preferences, in the general preferences tab is an option called “default modeling orientation” use the drop down menue to select “Z up”. That should do it.
Awesome thank you I will try that this evening. Do you think you’ll be making more videos with fusion, 360? I recently purchased a onefinity elite journeyman. It’s not set up yet, but just trying to figure out what software to go with. I own fusion 360, but I am also looking at Vcarve pro.
Well if you plan on a lot of woodworking projects then you can’t beat Vcarve for its simple 2D Lay-out of parts. It’s easy to learn and has a ton of great tutorials.
Fantastic and clear. Ive tried watching the Lars videos but they are just so chaotic and all over the place. This is exactly what I needed.
Well thank you !! I think Lars is however much better than I am in Fusion lol 😂

Thank you Richard, glad you like my contend.

Excellent if you can find some useful tips.
Very well explained. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 😊
Thank you 🙏
Iv been using solidworks for a bit now ... i think i might make a change this looks alot more intuitive

Check out FreeCad, I will keep an eye on it for the future. The drawing side is good but at this point the CAM is not right for me.
Thank you!

Yes, it stays good a really really long time in the bottle and the cap never clogged, also it can bridge a bit of a gap if your part is a tad bowed.

how about Rotary or 4 axes tuto ..
The rotary axis is interesting but many people that have one don’t use it. So it’s on the bottom of my idea list at the moment.
