It's hard to impress me. But Sean Taylor was absolutely one of the BEST football players I ever seen....at any and every level. Would have been a 1st ballot hall of fame. Rest in Peace. ✊🏿
It's a joke the Heisman committee refused to even have Sean Taylor as a finalist. The Heisman will be a joke as long as it disrespects elite defensive players.
That’s fax 💯!! He had 10 INT’s, multiple multi-pick games and returned 3 of them for TD’s his last year and didn’t get a single vote. Total robbery. They gave it to some jabroni named Jason White who would go on to do a whole bunch of nothing at the NFL level. The Heisman trophy for me has been joke ever since.
Anyone that disagree that Sean Taylor was hands down the GOAT just didn't understand how great he truly was! RIP Sean T! Clinton Portis was upset thinking they recruited Sean Taylor to play running back and they calmed him down saying no he wants to play safety speaks volumes to the athletic talent Sean Taylor had
Greatest football player I have ever seen on the field period, think about it. This guy had so much untapped potential to be even better than what he showed. He was truly a mystery to a lot of people but just imagine if he was exposed to today’s training and technology with who he was already, it won’t be fair. Corner back playing safety and linebacker plying safety, all those traits rolled up in one player
@@musicvideos2695 Yes easily the best college defensive player i've ever seen. Even today college players are not as vicious as he was. I remember when Ed reed left broadcasters were saying they did not know that Miami could replace such a legend the next year 2003. But Sean stepped in and to me was far better than Reed or any DB Miami ever had. RIP #26
foli Clement you make a great point bringing up Ed reed, the talent on the team was insane. Sean Taylor was behind Ed reed, imagine that. And as great as reed was, I still believe Sean Taylor was just a little bit better. So much mystery around Sean Taylor, I don’t think he even gave his all in terms of football, can you imagine how much better he would be if football was his life.
@@musicvideos2695 yeah he was like Dennis Rodman in a way. Dennis had God given ability but in the 90's with the Bulls he was a beast on the court but partied hard and did other things off the court that kinda held him back. Sean and Rodman both had that mean mentality that I loved. Jordan had it too lol
As a Steelers fan, going into the 2004 NFL Draft, he was literally the only player I wanted besides a QB (because we badly needed a young, promising QB). Saw Talor play in 2003 and I was simply in awe of how much ground he covered in a very short time. He just blew me away.
That interception is the greatest catch of all time, the athletic ability to reach back and reclaim the bobbled ball while perpendicular is fucking ridiculous
Greatest, rather than best? Intriguing. Like, he had the most potential, or referring to how underrated he was. He could have been the Cam Newton or Calvin Johnson of the safety position. There were moments in Sean's career that showed how great he truly was on the field. Right place and right time, he's the best, in the clutch. He wasn't as quick as Ed, but he was faster. He wasn't as prolific, Sean was more dominant. Players loathed Ed, they feared Sean. Ed has more highlights, Sean's best highlights are unbelievable. At his best, he owned the field, everyone was at his mercy.
You know there were other great players then Sean right? I can name one for you Charles Woodson! The Hurricane community kills me smh may I add he did win the Heisman which is giving to the best NCAA player! And he was on defense
@@mattlester80 You do know Charles Woodson is the only defensive player to ever win a Heisman. So my question to you is how the hell is Ed Reed better this C.W? (NCAA)
@@mattlester80 not in college!! Way better player then ED was. While I’m the NFL ED was a safety CW didn’t play that till he was older. So we can’t compare.

Wasn't better than Barry Sanders at Oklahoma State! Wasn't better than Frank Gore when Frank was a TRUE 18 year old freshman! However, Taylor was Great in college and the pro's.
Herschell Walker as well, he was a fucking bulldozer. Herschell is one of those people who is like a myth, some people just wouldn't believe his ability on and off the iron if you just told them stories about him! Ricky the Longhorn too! A freakish athlete who seemed to do what he wanted, when he wanted. Two ridiculous players in the upper echelon of college ball. Calling Taylor the best college player ever is a slap in the face to some of the greats. No one could deny his talent but to call him the best is a stretch.

What helped his college resume, is the Fact He Played Running Back in His School (.)
He played Safety and RB
2:41 the first of two criminal calls in what was UM’s second straight national championship.
