The most beautiful Qx4 , I ever seen , I got one 2001 silver 167000 miles, I took it to Costa Rica 🇨🇷 for off roading , watching this video I think it is time to put some mod ,, on it , nice thanks for sharing
@@budnixon I really love your belt on your QX4 it's just very bakes it and simple I like that I've been slowly building mine right now I'm rebuilding my motor and mine if you ever any advice about a transmission I can't actually give you a part number for re4 or already five transmission but you will have to change that torque converter to get the transmission to fit I actually got a re4 Chevy 1500 transmission to fit in mine without changing the drive shaft.
@@andrewforsythe4622 Thanks. My R50 as many other previous builds are a process of a learning curve to do one thing or another, I think sometime next spring it will be going up for sale. I'm already looking around for another 4x4 that I can build up and try different things. As far as R50, I've reached my end goal and what I wanted to do with it; now just getting to use it a little when I got time for a trip.
@@budnixon I know I'm not qualified to speak for the masses but I think a lot of people would like to have that bumper if they knew about it. I drive an 02' QX4 and that bumper would give me the best of both worlds, protection in the event of an accident, all the while still retaining the OEM bumper for the clean look of the car itself. Hypothetically if I were to ask you to fabricate one and ship it to the US, how much would it be? Do you have schematics for it?
@@GavinAlexander all can be done, but comes down to how feasible of a venture it is. I made few now, but it’s more of a custom fit, and in order to mass produce- few adjustments need be made; costs would be around $1200-1500 plus paint/S&H (in the same way built as mine)
@@budnixon Yikes, a bit to steep for my price range. What about sharing schematics for it? I have a close friend who can fabricate. I live in Alabama, so it’s unrealistic for me to drive all the way to the north. I’m willing to pay for the info.
@@GavinAlexander I do not share any of that as it’s a personal investment of time; any good fabricator should be able to make something along those lines without much difficulty other than countless hours that it might take. It’s sorta like the secret sauce I guess… one can copy but will it ever be the same 🤷♂️
Front/rear springs are Dobinson 30mm, front struts are ToughDog, rear shocks are Fox 2.0 (I extended upwards shock mounts by 3in), 2in spacers all around by SFCreations, with my own custom 3in SFD on front (including steering link upgrade)
Got a few questions, so I got the dobinsons front springs with the kyb struts and my cv keeps ripping on the inner boot. And it seems more angled then yours what should I do or buy to stop it from doing that?
What I mean to say - things were fabricated to fit the winch I used - actual plate/hidden winch mount in factory front bumper - that was built by me, there is no link as it was not something purchased... I build/sell them
I love your budget builder, I sold my 97 r50. I am now in search for 2001 qx4 to start my overland build. Thanks for your videos and the great ideas.
Glad to help, thanks for watching! Good luck with your search

Awesome off grid camping. Very nice organizing your equipment. Thanks again for the video!
Thanks for watching!

Very well done and explained in depth, I got myself a 2001 QX4 a year ago with the intent to do something similar! Great Inspiration👍
Glad to hear!
I have a 01 qx4 parents got it brand new. 21 years later with 270k miles. It still runs somehow lmao. Idk what it is but she just wont give up
that is a pretty nice setup. Ima get mine qx4 next month and probably will fo something like this
Great rigs
Great final rig Bud. I'm amazed with the set up and then to us the radio set very very Good Job Bud.
🙏 thanks
Love the new build
Came out functional 🙏👍🏻
Awesome setup
I'm glad you like it
Can you do a video on the solar setup? Great video.
Yes, soon I'll try. Really nothing to it, just a panel on the hood and a solar controller inline before wires hit your battery... :)
@@budnixon It’s an interesting topic.
Out having fun I see. Builds looking nice.
Thanks ;) gotta be ready for summer
Is that Ollalie? Hopefully one of these days they re-open Hwy 224 out of Estacada.
Olallie it is, 224 I hear opens on May 1, but only up to ripplebrook area
Car looks awsome. Where did you get the winch set up in the bumper?
Built it like the rest of the R50, thanks
I love that custom grill. Would you make more of them?
If need be, not sure if there is a market for it

Great set up ..where did you get that front grill from?
I made it, as most of the rig
Awesome video! What do you have for front and rear lift? Also how much for the rear side window Molly plates?

Molle panels are $200/pair shipped
Здравствуйте. Как вы установили лебёдку???? Есть видео?)
лебедка на площадке спереди радиаторов, спрятана внутри заводского пластика бампера. принцип одинаковый как в любом подобном формате и на других авто

SFD is needed most likely
What size tires ?
33
фен ,затягивает выхлопные газы в воздухозаборник ?
Ты о чем/про что именно?!
What size winch plate did you use?
One rated for the winch load I used
Do you have a link? I’m also in an R50 platform and would love to keep my factory bumper.

Просто ахуеть, лучший кемпинг куикс, что я видел! У меня 2001 года, я пока только лифтанулся)
Как колеса 33 влезли?
А, все понял, sfd!
благодарю; построил для условий в которых всё это удобно и полезно
There are definitely not many such cars
thats for sure... :) One of the main reasons why I enjoyed building it out.
