Urdu Poetry मौत कहाँ मर गई ख़ुमार explained by

Khumar Barabankvi in this poetry Maut Kaha Marr Gayi “Khumar”, has used a totally different perspective, very innovatively he has described the point of view of a lover who is now grown old and not able to love her in the same manner as he used to. The tussle between age and love is clearly evident.

allāh jaane maut kahāñ mar ga.ī 'ḳhumār'
ab mujh ko zindagī kī zarūrat nahīñ rahī
This sher (Couplet) alone made the whole ghazal famous. It has got all the desired feelings to give you goosebumps.
