The Smart Control Room in Venice has also been financed with funds from the European Cohesion Policy, the largest wealth redistribution policy in Europe, designed to combat inequalities, improve living conditions in areas of lesser development, and strengthen economic, social and territorial cohesion. But is this what the Smart Control Room does? Is it really a help for all the people who live in Venice and for the city?
And then, from 25 April 2024 in Venice you pay an access fee and you have to book to enter the city. How are the two things connected?

We went into the Smart Control Room, saw it in operation, had it explain to us what data it collects. Then we started to study. The pros and cons, for example. We listened to the voices of activists and people living in Venice. And we asked ourselves a lot of questions. Then we started asking them around and looking for answers.
What happens if I disable the geolocation of my phone?
Are smart cities a way to make cities more efficient or a potential vector of attack on people's freedom?
Are people's aggregated mobility data really anonymous? Who can see them, who can use them, with what level of detail?
Starting from the Serenissima, we will take you on a journey to discover the topic of surveillance and security, in a series of episodes that will probably not be short.

Praticamente sanno tutto, pure quanto mi manca di mutuo. Sta cosa mi spaventa, per 2 motivi: 1) il telefono trasmette troppe informazioni
2) non devono sapere tutte queste cose, al massimo la divisione tra italiani e stranieri

Ma perché tutti questi termini in inglese?!
Perché la "Smart control room" è stata chiamata così e le "smart city" anche.
E fin qua ghe jero rivà anca mi! È che forse non vi rendete conto di quanto sia pregnante l'uso dei termini in inglese in questo video. Né di quante persone siano penalizzate nella comprensione di ciò che viene detto perché non padroneggiano la lingua di Suo Maestà. Niente vieta per rendere più comprensibile il tutto, che chi ha il compito di divulgare le informazioni adatti il proprio eloquio alla platea di persone che lo ascoltano e dato che siamo in Italia, non avrebbe fatto male esprimersi in italiano.

Dicono che il riconoscimento facciale è vietato, invece viene utilizzato eccome! Negli accessi ai binari dentro la stazione ferroviaria della mia città durante la pandemia, con la scusa di misurare la temperatura corporea, hanno installato delle videocamere collegate a dei monitor dai quali si vedeva inquadrato il volto di ogni persona che passava con relativi parametri di riconoscimento facciale. I monitor erano controllati dal personale della sicurezza ed erano girati in modo da non essere subito visibili alle persone, inconsapevoli di essere " scannerizzate"..stessa cosa all aeroporto.
