Side notes: There are a lot of people on the autism spectrum that don't outgrow the shows from their childhoods, particularly animated shows. To say that someone who won't leave behind what gives them enjoyment and comfort doesn't deserve love is horribly inhumane. Same goes for suggesting that someone that has experienced abuse and trauma doesn't deserve someone's love neither, especially if it's solely for that purpose.
Some people can take the obvious hints that are right in front of them, others need to be told “I REALLY like you” right to their face before they get it. OP is clearly the latter and his “friend” just decides to take the nasty road by destroying all of OP’s potential relationships instead of just telling him.
Who the hell cares if a grown adult likes watching kid’s shows? It’s harmless. Even I myself like to watch cartoons from time to time and I even collect plushies, and I think my upbringing for the most part was pretty normal. There’s nothing wrong with that. In fact I can understand why the woman in the story likes watching cartoons if she wasn’t allowed to as a child. I think anyone who puts people like her down is probably deep down very insecure about themselves in some way.

Sometimes it's just fun to watch a kids show. I see nothing wrong with that. Especially because the girlfriend didn't get to watch those shows as a child.
I am a 26 year-old woman and I still watch Teen Titans, Ed Edd and Eddie, SpongeBob, the original Powerpuff Girls and every other show I f@cking grew up with. I have a literal mountain of plushy squish mellows Beyblade‘s, Bakugan, Yu-Gi-Oh cards, Pokémon cards, and every nerdy thing in between. Never feel like you can’t express the things you love plus this BF needs to learn to grow up herself if she’s never seen the show Phineas and Ferb, anyone from my age group would’ve busted out laughing at the girlfriends joke.
You don’t know just how oblivious some people can be. My sister dropped deeply obvious signs that she liked her bf. Everyone knew but him, until she just said it to his face because he wasn’t getting it. Some people are deeply unaware and just can’t take the hints that are in front of them, have to be told straight out “I really like/love you” for them to actually comprehend it.

There’s nothing wrong with watching kids shows as an adult, but she’s clearly jealous

That “friend” is super jealous. I’m 30 and I still watch those shows. I’m glad OP cut Rachel off. Op doesn’t need that negativity.

Rachel is 100% jealous lmao
Bruh SpongeBob and Powerpuff Girls are full of adult humor, does the jealous idiot hate the Simpsons and Family Guy too?
What’s wrong with watching kid shows?? I like watching them because of the nostalgia 😊
I didn't get a childhood either and I watch cartoons too.
Rachel definitely has a thing for OP and that's why she can't keep her nose out of OP's relationships.
