- Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing great!
I decided to make another northern light painting since you all liked the previous ones. I made this northern lights forest tutorial using two iridescent colours. I hope you enjoy watching this aurora acrylic painting tutorial. If you would like to see more aurora paintings comment down below.

Materials:
Acrylic paint: Blue green iridescent by Pebeo, Violet blue by Pebeo and Phthalo blue by Omer DeSerres.
The brush I'm using to blend the background is from Omer DeSerres, it's a flat acrylic brush. I got it 6-7 years ago, so I don't think it's on the site anymore. The brushes I used to make the trees are from Lasten 19 Pcs Paint Brush Set from Amazon.

Hi, did you prep the canvas before you started? Gesso or anything like that?

Rachel Carson I got this from another comment, but I’d suggest that if you’re left handed, paint right to left, and if you’re right handed, paint left to right. This might help keep the paint off your hand ❤️

I struggle with depression and anxiety too, if you ever need anyone to talk to lmk! And art is a great way to let out any feelings you have, maybe try some art therapy or look into art therapy as a way of coping. My Instagram is @bertucio_ if you ever need someone to talk to.

(Messes don't = bad paintings kids, sometimes the best thing you can do is get your hands/arms/face/legs/hair/clothes etc. covered in paint and roll with it!)

About halfway through I got serious ‘ice cave’ vibes with how the center color looked lighter/like light was shining down through it. I can only dream of being this good!

Well I am left handed so sadly anytime I do anything I get pencil lead, ink, or paint on my hand. It looks really good btw!

I tried painting and it was good but I accidentally got a ugly paint color on it and tried to fix it but gave up 💀
Do you let it dry any in between mixing like say the blue green over the first pinkish color or do you paint this Bascilly the whole time just sped up?
I think for blending purposes they painted the whole time. The only time I would recommend stopping is a. Before you add fine details like trees or just any small focus of the piece or b. If you notice the paint is blending too much and the colors don't look right. I'm a beginner too this is just what I've noticed :)
It also happens to me that i get paint all over my hands, the other night i had it in my face and don't even know how it got there :)

I adapted to wearing skin tight latex gloves cause I get paint all over my hand& sometimes smear part of my art w/ the paint on my hand lol 😅 The gloves is easier to clean paint off then my bare hand 😆
