My favorite wild cat of all times. It's one of the wild cats that's never been known to attack humans if it's of course been raised by humans. If you're considering getting a wild cat as pet; though I wouldn't encourage, a cheeta would be your best option. Leopards, lions, tigers, and other wild cats are more prone to unexpectedly attack even it's owner.
***** Thanks for sharing your insight to Cheetas as well as your own account of your experience interacting with them. I guess my next question is "Can I have your frien's address so that I can play with the Cheetas too?" Now that was hilarious and please know that I was joking. Again, thanks for your response...
Curly Simone Cheetahs are fairly rare in private hands in captivity in the States because eventhough they have been tamed for centurys they are hard to breed unless you have a massive amount of land and if the males and females are not seperate accept for breeding they tend to not breed at all .
To be fair to Lions and Tigers due to their massive strength they do sometimes look like they're trying a hurt the owner when they're in reality trying to do something else, but because they're so strong they end up hurting the owner. One zoo Tiger ended up accidentally killing a man it tried to save and a Lion in another case tried to drag it's owner somewhere but due to his massive strength everyone thought he was attacking his owner and he was shot
I played with a live Cheetah for several hours (note: I have experience interacting with and handling wildcats, and though cheetahs are often docile toward humans, such play may not be safe for everyone) Spotti Plays with Live Cheetah
Spottacus Cheetah people think they bite and stuff like that but all they can do is run and chirp as defenses :/ because it looks like a wild big cat people think its mean DX
+dogs101o Yes, the cheetahs' global gene pool is notoriously shallow, which is sad considering HOW beautiful the Cheetah is. But, I have to believe there are captive breeding programs around the world that are working to strengthen their gene pool. If not, there needs to be more of these programs.
So, what I'm getting is that you're playing with a wild animal ( probably raised in captivity ) and my house cat walks away from me when we simply make eye contact. Oh man.
There is a reason Saudi oil sheiks have pet cheetahs and not lions or tigers. Cheetahs are calmer to live with in your house, and they do not weigh 700 lb.
So where the cheetah come from? I know that he's from a animal sanctuary (I read the description unlike most of the people in the comments) but was he rescued?
Spottacus Cheetah Come on you don't need experience when it comes to cheetahs they are just one big house cat... I like how people think you need to be experienced its not hard to figure out ...Big cats house cats big dogs small dogs Love and affection towards any animal will not bite your face off...I have a Iberian Lynx she is beautiful and awesome with my kids of course not no cheetah but still a big cat considering living in a house in the US..
Nicholas King Nolte Wouldn't have believed you until I experienced it myself. Cheetahs are special indeed and accept humans. I was amazed how easily hand raised Cheetahs take to people. I think it might be due to limited controlled breeding and domestication over 1000s of years. I had never experienced Cheetahs before until volunteering in South Africa. I had one curled up in my lap only after five days and grooming me while laying on my back after seven. Even slept next to him at night. You don't get that from a lion you didn't raise by hand.
Dolph C. Volker yeah accept they do need special care much more so then a cute pet cat or dog . Ie you dont go to the local pet store and buy them food and they need acres of land to be healthy not just chilling in the house .
went into a fight with one, he called up his homeboys and i called mine there was hell of a fight till i went super saiyan form ended up the rag with my kame hame ha
Ritesh Suvarna Cheetahs are calmer, even on safaris out in the wild. They are curious, like wolves. They do not attack immediately. They are perfectly fine to sit on top of a Land Rover full of people and not do anything but look around inside.
Jay Young Cheetahs are actually more related to domestic housecats than they are lions, believe it or not. In fact, you know what other species of big cat can purr? Mountain lions. Yep.
Cheetahs are the most easy going and docile species of cat and are known for being easy to domesticate. They have been kept as pets for thousands of years in Arab countries - some people even use them to hunt deer. They recognize humans as fellow predators and will only attack when seriously provoked or rabid (attacks on humans are very, very rare). House cats are way more dangerous - they are vicious little bastards! They are also built very differently to other cat species - compared to a puma or leopard of the same weight; a cheetah has lower bone density and muscle mass, is less powerful and only has semi-retractable claws (which are more like dog claws). They can definitely do some damage but a reasonably strong man would be able to overpower a cheetah in most instances without getting critically injured.
Interesting that the man seems very careful with how he touches the cheetah. He's not roughhousing, too much, with it. Thing is, with large pet carnivores, is that if that animal EVER has just ONE bad moment of being startled or scared, or it lashes out in but ONE instance of aggression, then all those fun times and the cool factor will be gone in a regrettable and avoidable moment.
Cheetahs are more like dogs, they don't get agressive towards the owner even if having an unpleasant moment... There hasn't been a documented case of a cheetah killing a human or attacking his owner
The cheetah purring makes me happy😊
***** im not a brony im a female and plus I don't watch mlp I just like this picture
Cheetah's are awesome! I can't wait to get one.
If I won the lottery i'd get one. Gotta have a fuck ton of money for their enclosure and food and whatnot. Hell just buying won isnt cheap.

That is so amazing~! To get close and even play with the cheetah. I am sooo envious now. He looks beautiful.
He was wonderful to play with.
cheetahs really arent dangerous at all. their claws arent like other cats where theyre retractable and very sharp. theyre basically like big dogs
I guess foxes are the cats of Canidae and cheetahs are the dogs are Felidae.
the real life CatDog and DogCat.
The best of both species.
I played with a live Cheetah for several hours

Wow that's a lovely cheetah! And a loud purring one!
wow, that's the biggest cheetah I've ever seen. so so beautiful too
Hahah he is like "your salty skin tastes good" 😂
I find these comments like the Cheetah must be drugged or the cat's gonna eat him...Obviously these people do not know Cheetahs at all
Scott Forster yes i feel more safe bieng orund cheetahs then a lynx or a Big dog they are harmless to humans as long as theres one
Yup! Real jealous of you Spotti! Miss you!!!
You go spotti. I'm super jelly.
he is so cool i wish i had one
nice wildcat
We need to get big cats domesticated so that there is a smaller chance of them becoming extinct.
dogs101o agreed.
***** That isn't true. Where ever you heard that from is a lie.
***** Well, we need to captive breed them first. (The only problem is inbreeding). And it isn't hard.
+dogs101o Yes, the cheetahs' global gene pool is notoriously shallow, which is sad considering HOW beautiful the Cheetah is. But, I have to believe there are captive breeding programs around the world that are working to strengthen their gene pool. If not, there needs to be more of these programs.
+dogs101o the ancient egyptians had tame ones kept as pets

Oh my sweet forest! I was literally trying to keep my heart from over fluttering! Purrs, Tyg.
Daaaaaaaw. Why can't I play with the big kitty :(?
So, what I'm getting is that you're playing with a wild animal ( probably raised in captivity ) and my house cat walks away from me when we simply make eye contact. Oh man.
So lucky to get to get up close like that ... been a few years since I've gotten the chance
just saw this now and u are amazing with the cats
+DjMiBsweden *blushes* thank you!
If i had a cheetah my dog will be probobly a Greyhound
There is a reason Saudi oil sheiks have pet cheetahs and not lions or tigers. Cheetahs are calmer to live with in your house, and they do not weigh 700 lb.
That's amazing! I wish I could do that!!!
What a gorgeous animal! Spot on, my furry friends :3
I didn't know big cats purred
how that cheetah is so big like this
Spotti.. playing with Giza's mom?
So where the cheetah come from? I know that he's from a animal sanctuary (I read the description unlike most of the people in the comments) but was he rescued?
LOVE IT!!!🥰🥰🥰
THAT IS SOOOO KICKASS! !!!
So happy you got to do that. Does this place have Tigers too?
That cheetah seemed docile, but I'd honestly never have the cajones to do what you did :P
I was there almost three months ago and pet him as well! :)
Awesome

andrew schultz Cheetahs are a lot of work, but not much moreso than a serval.
Whats up with it's eyes at the beginning...looks like CGI
Well, it's not.
very lucky OwO I'd love to get this up-close and personal with my spirit animal. Cheetahs are such a beauty and I hope to work with them one day.
went into a fight with one, he called up his homeboys and i called mine
there was hell of a fight till i went super saiyan form
ended up the rag with my kame hame ha
If i had to pet one of tiger, lion ,or cheetah which one would u reccomend ? are cheetahs not more aggressive?
Ritesh Suvarna Cheetahs are calmer, even on safaris out in the wild. They are curious, like wolves. They do not attack immediately. They are perfectly fine to sit on top of a Land Rover full of people and not do anything but look around inside.
70kg is quite big for a Cheetah and that's even heavier than me xdd
I wonder if that was playful growling or the " I don't really like you please stop touching me before I bite the crap out of you " growl.
It's purring but it just sounds way more bad ass because it weighs 150lbs and not 15lbs. I'm pretty sure it's the only big cat that purrs.
wow really idk know that big cats purr at all I just learned something new lol
Jay Young Cheetahs are actually more related to domestic housecats than they are lions, believe it or not. In fact, you know what other species of big cat can purr? Mountain lions. Yep.
The best way to beat your enemy is to make him as your friend ☺️
This leopard is a real chiler

@@JuaniAlva I heard there was a case of a cheetah killing a small child but that kind of incident is extremely rare.
lucky
Its purring
+Prashant Chauhan He is indeed purring loudly
Why is this cheetah so large? I've never seen one so plump.
because its in a sanctuary it doesn't go hungry for weeks on end until it finally gets a kill.
try to Run with him
I hear it prrr
Is that really a live cheetah? I mean, it doesn't require AA batteries to run?
Spotti plays with "live" cheetah... Such an unnecessary word lol... Implies that we normally play with dead cheetahs
Cheetahs are just bigger versions of house cats. I'm done with these tiny cats. I'm getting a LION NEXT!
