  • Bill knows how to swing the hammer better than most anyone I know - not to mention his knowledge of the tool - truly a Telecaster Expert in every way! - This track is from a private show in 2009 in Sac - he will be playin the Auburn Event Center 9-23-2011

"Born at the junction of form and function." One of the best lines I've ever heard. Who came up with that?

"You can't pay me what I'm worth, I don't work that cheap." Lyric from the same guy.

I took the picture of Bill that flashes at :56 sec in the green jacket. It was taken in April 2004 at the Alden Theater in McLean Virginia. Twang on!

Eric Clapton gave an extra Fender to one of his roadies. The roadie realized he was never going to be that good, and so he gave it to a kid who was suffering a Gibson. Ritchie Blackmore did stuff.

I had the pleasure of talking with Mr. Kirchen as he practiced one day. Duly impressed by the lack of varnish on his guitar, we took a few minutes and added up his practice time, gigs and years playing. A loose estimate came to 38 Million notes played on that one guitar. It's easy to love Bill Kirchen. This song and slideshow are great.

Leo Fender brought Telefunk to the masses. Stratofunk as well as Precision to the electric bass. Great post Smilin Scott. Twang on DUDE! THX

I used to love the Stratocaster till I got older and finally gave the Tele a try. The deep twang and attitude just makes it so much more fun to play than the Strat despite the fact it does not have a whammy bar.

    • @TeleCaster66

Lol, I could have written that because it's exactly what happened to me! Still play my great Strat but Telecaster is definitely number 1.

if u watch close he uses the volume knob to get a wah whammy effect he even took out the controls and turned them around so the knob was in front
