Ascension feels a remarkable amount like Star Realms, just with a few tweaks here and there. Artwork looks great, but the game feels a bit standard at this point in the deck builder craze. Still looks fun, however.
@@MattRix Quite true, however, in my opinion white wizard games really nail card interactions and potential combos, and the tension of direct player attack/defense isn't here. If your looking this type of game, it is excellent quality and one of the best deck builders, but with so many new deck building games hitting the market, improvements are always being made to systems/mechanics.
@@JovinGhoul23 Star Realms is great! If you are interested in our take on a more modern deckbuilder with direct player attacking, please check out Shards of Infinity. We've added some new mechanics like player Mastery that increase the power of your cards (including starting cards) as the game progresses.
Hey, this video was super informative and really helpful. Keep up the great work. 👍
Glad it helped Sunny!
This looks like the simple, light enough for my girlfriend and themed enough for me game we can play when the baby goes to bed!
Great job, Dan. One point regarding end game scoring: in the event of a tie, the person that went last wins the tiebreaker.
Do you prefer Ascension or Dominion?
Dominion
this is great
Glad you like it Juan! You can see all the Rules Schools here - www.gameboygeek.com/rules-school

worth noting that Ascension came out a few years before Star Realms

@@Justin_Gary Awesome, thanks, I'll check it out.
@@JovinGhoul23 I wonder how to scale Star Realms for 3+ players though. Autobattler-style opponent-swapping battle royale, perhaps?
