Even in my disillusionment with all things related to Norman Lear, I have to say you pulled this off pretty well. I'm not usually a fan of fake or re-created logos, especially considering all the drama that went on with this one that I never expected that Thursday night I saw it on a *Jeffersons* rerun on WGN, but this one showed real technique and imagination.
Interesting theory, and well-executed beyond what I could ever accomplish, but of course, the reason it never could've happened in real life is because that music was created only after Coca-Cola broke up the individual parts of Embassy. They already had their own home video division with RCA/Columbia, so they obviously thought two was a crowd. But since Coca-Cola kept the TV division, which is what they wanted all along, they also kept the rights to use the Ray Colcord jingle everybody is more familiar with (and the home video variation). Yet they stopped using the Embassy name and logo after calendar year 1987, and Embassy Home Entertainment just became Nelson Entertainment. It seemed like they just stopped using the name Embassy just cause nobody could figure out who owned what! This also assumes Norman Lear and Jerry Perenchio never bought Avco Embassy Pictures but Coca-Cola still bought them out anyway. That is honestly a more plausible scenario if Columbia wanted the TV shows and punted on the movies. I believe it all ties into *Bewitched* losing to *all in the family* in the ratings when they were up against each other. They even tried to make a deal for the syndication rights to *Sanford and Son* before they decided to do it themselves with PITS Films. It's also why they bought TOY Productions from Bud Yorkin and why he, Saul Turteltaub, and Bernie Orenstein formed TOY II: to circumvent Eric Monte after his lawsuit.
This looks very realistic!
Ok, that was genuinely cool af
