A popular solution to the problem:
File -> Project Settings -> General..
Change [Software Only] to [GPU Acceleration (Metal) or GPU Acceleration (CUDA)]

the file just isn't working, it only imported the top layer, not all 5, and doesnt map the footage

Just paid and downloaded this and it doesn't include any of the transitions or sound FX. I see 12 Slide emulators and that's it.
