I agree with Josh on the “formula” almost every creator has done the “I just bought a Benz” or “no budget shopping spree” in order for their content to be “good” or seen. I get what he means. In a sense it’s flaunting but at the same time just showing it. But like Josh said there is a way to do it. In my opinion
Totally agree with Josh! “You gotta have money to do cool stuff or be cool”. Hauls are a big way people show all the money. I love you guys! You are more relatable! (Maybe not many times you go to target 😂😂) but yeah people flaunt their money all the time and it’s sneaky!! Outfits, make up, hobbies….etc love you guys and how you talk about real stuff ❤
I absolutely love that y’all can have a nice healthy RESPECTFULLY debate, and can share it to the internet. Y’all pray I can find a man’s like that! Haha I mean that in the MOST respectful way. Y’all’s relationship is such a beautiful example and inspiration for me!
I think it comes down to how grounded and or grateful someone is. If an influencer has super nice stuff but also acknowledges that and has also come from much less growing up they can be relatable still to the average person because they understand both lifestyles
That's why we pick the content we want to watch, if you feel like a influencer is showing off money I just would not watch them. We watch content that's relatable to you.
I have been watching you guys for like two months now and your my fav celebs. YES YOU GUYS ARE CELEBS in my world at least! Thank you guys for caring so much for us!
I think I had never seen them actually disagreeing about something this is awesome, I love when I see discussions not becoming arguments, and people just showing their own povs without trying to force their opinion on other people
It just went ON and ON for too long in circles! Agree to disagree, and move on to next subject. At least as a listener I was exhausted and had to turn it off lol. Love them still tho obvi 💕
Josh completely lost me in that influencer/celeb debate 😂 It didn’t make sense to me, but I agree with Sav tho, not everyone is going to be relatable for everyone doesn’t mean they have to change their content. Everyone lives different lives! Sav also won the draft! Ranch, Chick-fil-A, Fry sauce 🔥
I feel like that debate went on and on and on, in circles lol ….at the end of the day, we all watch what we want to watch obvi….some for it’s relatability and some cuz it’s whole other world we can’t relate to. Who cares!
we can definitely make assumptions off of what influencers show us on social media because that’s what “branding” is; to be able to present a recognizable image and if an influencer believes these assumptions are ‘incorrect’ that speaks to how off they’ve made their branding from who they actually are.
This debate is SO interesting because I agree with both sides. I agree with Josh that there are a lot of influencers, especially famous RUclipsrs, and Instagrammers, that flaunt their money by buying Gucci once a month to "surprise their girlfriend" or making it a point to say how much they spent on an outfit or item. Those people are unrelatable because they're flaunting their success/money. However, I also completely agree with Sav that some celebrities are still humble with their money, even though we can't relate to them. Like Zendaya is a model, but she's never purposefully flaunting that she is rich. Also, I can't relate to Josh and Sav because of how much money I know they have to be able to comfortably spend $100 on a sweater, but they're still relatable in general because of their personalities and because they are humble. For example, they never make a thumbnail of them buying crazy expensive things. Sav may show an expensive outfit in a video and link it, but because of her personality and the type of person she is, we know she's not flaunting, just simply sharing her life.
Okay, I have to agree with Sav price range wise, the "average" person cannot always afford a $100 sweater or $200 Jordans plus, average is really selective or depends on ones viewpoint.
People hate throwing up because of the total lack of control we have in the process. With all other sickness’s we can have some kind of control or input, but throwing up is 🤢 the worst form of torture for a person who likes to be in some sort of or total control (I’m a bit of a control freak who has put much thought into this topic). Love 💕 y’all!
Y’all for example. We know y’all make good money doing RUclips and content creating. In a way better financial situation than I am. But I still really rock with y’all. Y’all don’t flaunt your money and are very humble and clearly blessed but you guys don’t flaunt you know what I mean. Y’all are still relatable even though your life has improved financially. You guys aren’t “influencery” I hope that makes sense lol
I think Sav won the draft with simply chick-fil-a sauce 😂. Also, I 1000% agree with Sav. Ultimately it’s not fair to say a creator is trying to flaunt when they are just using products that they use on a daily basis. There is absolutely a difference between someone yelling about a Tesla they bought for a video and a girl just saying this is her makeup routine and she happens to use $500 worth of makeup products. Some creator niches just require people to show things for example people who do tech product reviews such as Marques Brownlee. I would never think he is flaunting, he just doing his job and showing us what products are good or not. Similar with makeup. I also do not think by any stretch that the average person would just buy $100 cardigans to wear on the daily basis. Maybe for middle class in the US, that’s attainable. But that’s not the average person. At least I won’t lol but because you guys wear something I can’t afford doesn’t make me think you guys are flaunting. I feel like Josh was conflating so many thoughts into the argument and not really hearing what Sav was saying.
I would never spend $100 on a cardigan no matter how much money I have 😂, but I will spend money on other things that maybe someone else wouldn't but you guys are still relatable to me through relationships, values, beliefs, motherhood etc.
I love the way you guys respect each other enough that you take the time to listen, even though you may not agree with the other’s opinion you respect the other one is saying. ✝️✝️✝️💟💟
PLEASE do a part 2 of this and bring in your influencer friends to get their take. We all know social media is unfortunately used for views and likes and influencers (like the ones mentioned in the vid) do the most to grow. Ik Sav was trying to be impartial and see the best but I have to go with Josh on this one. It’s too clear to ignore. Maybe because I study Psychology and human behavior intrigues me but it’s so true that ppl do flaunt when they have insecurities (i.e. little man syndrome). Of course not everyone and it’s not done the same way but relating to the video - it’s not far fetched and a logical explanation. Celebrities like Kendal don’t need to dress “big” for events like Coachella bc they have already reached a status level to where they don’t have to prove anything for an event like that. Someone can google and see she is worth millions upon millions. No we shouldn’t make assumptions about ppl but that is human nature and we are going to make an impression based on what we see.🤷🏾♀️ I do have to point out that is was very nice to see a husband be SO patient with his wife when he was clearly frustrated and had a complete different opinion. Love to see that respect. Didn’t mean to pull an example out of that compliment but I am assuming based on how Josh treated Sav in this video that he is a loving and respectful husband and that he understands that in the grand scheme this little disagreement doesn’t take away how he feels for Savanna as his wife. That’s the impression I got whether it’s spot on or not. I do love you guys and think y’all are very relatable 🫶🏾. I’m not buying a $100 cardigan or $80 😂 t-shirt for my life but y’all are still very relatable in plenty of ways.
At the end of the day, there will always be haters and critics - is either you are flaunting money or you shouldn't even be on social Meigs because you can't afford the 'good stuff'. One you open yourself to the public, you have to be prepared for all types of comments and or attacks. Love that you guys have such open conversations.
I loved the back and forth on this episode! I do agree with Josh in terms of money being apart of the formula, I think it’s more covert than overt. Influencers who don’t have the nice backdrop, newer vehicles, good lighting etc. just don’t get the same exposure. In the same breath, I think Sav makes a great point abt not being able to determine intention & the $100 cardigan lmaoooo. I don’t think you guys “flaunt” your money but even being able to stay home with your children is something that isn’t relatable for many families and is a sign of being affluent. and in playing devils advocate, one could say that assume that anyone who is social media influencer is looking for attention. i definitely see both sides here, this has to be one of my favorite episodes so far 💓
I definitely hear what you’re both saying, but what Sav says resonates the most with how I feel! I think there’s definitely a way people flaunt their money and “fame”. Sometimes an influencer will link a shirt that they’re wearing and the shirt is $80-$100 for me that’s not manageable but I don’t believe that they’re flaunting their wealth. I think what Sav was saying if it’s like “look how much hmm I spent” that’s when it becomes not relatable. But also i feel like creatures shouldn’t be in a “box” to be relatable. I watch you guys because I feel like you are relatable to me, but that shouldn’t mean other creatures have to form to what you’re doing. There’s an audience for everyone!
i def see both sides to the debate. i agree with Josh that there is a particular formula that ppl rely on to appear a certain way which can stem from insecurity, idolatry, greed, etc. however, i can't push that narrative onto everyone just cuz their social media/acct may portray those accusations. all in all, this episode had me evaluate my heart & mindset when it comes to harshly judging ppl vs discerning their fruit. we should always be careful to represent ppl as best as we can, like Sav says, but not excuse/support their sin and truly take our concerns & issues with them to Jesus :) love you guys !
56:03 agree with sav... You did a vlog going shopping joah said the prices of what he got and I couldn't afford anything you guys bought that day..... But I still love watching y'all
Do you guys know who Matt and Abby are? I would love for you guys to do a podcast with them!!! AGAIN YALL DO YALL! whatever yall do it will be the best
I think if you get invited to be a part of something like Coachella you're gonna live it up, make the best of it that you can, and fit the vibe that Coachella always is...
I’ve been waiting all afternoon for this podcast episode! Love y’all so much and God bless your marriage and family! Boutta go pop some popcorn🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️
I totally get what Josh means by the formula. To give an example that Sav may understand better I'll use the vehicle you guys purchased. We as your audience know that you have it because you told us, but you guys didn't flaunt it by telling us cost, financing, cash purchase, didn't do a 360 around the vehicle to show all the features extra packages none of that. The formula Josh's referring to would be if you guys would have done those things, it's your life and you're going about your day and you're excited to let us know about the car that you guys purchase for your family by giving us the financial details that they look what we have. One way that I can say the people may assume you guys are flaunting is when you do the OOTD. If the clothes you're showcasing cost more than standard items of the same then that might be looked at as you letting us know that you can afford $100 for a cardigan while we can't.
This rant 😅was too much. Let’s talk about something you two DO agree on. Love you two hahaha and josh I’m always on your side but we weren’t talking about spaghetti sauce. It was condiments 😂 you two are funny!
I feel like you can be more relatable by sticking to some of your original routines and things that you buy..even when you’re blessed and get the money. Everything doesn’t have to be from urban outfitters and lululemon..lol or if you do replace some of your drugstore items with a more expensive (clean) brand you can always reference back to where you can get a similar item or product for less expensive. ❤love the conversation!
I am just catching up on the pod episodes. I agree with Sav, Josh can't want people to be what they are not. Every creator makes content curated to who they are and what works for them. I think it's a little unfair to expect a creator to be like another or not post something because it will be perceived as something else. Good example with the NBA draft/picks or whatever Sav.. Also, maybe just let people do with their money what they wish really lol love you guys so much❤. Can't believe i slept on these pods😅
I'm with Josh on the discussion. Sav is coming at Josh for assuming when she's doing the same thing and vouching for influencers/celebrities she doesn't personally know 😂
i think there’s a difference between financial/situational relatability and just relatability in personality. i’m not a parent, i live alone, and y’all are clearly in a different tax bracket 😂 but you guys are actually still incredibly relatable to me on other levels. on the other hand, i’m a student with roommates, but i don’t find Alix Earle remotely relatable because i would never be out all night clubbing and getting drunk. so i also don’t think there’s an overall definition of ‘relatability’ - i think that can only be evaluated individually.
I agree with sav to a certain extent but I agree more with Josh here. I relate to you guys because I am married and trying for children currently. Even though our religion is different we both have a strong connection to God. And I like that. I don’t watch woman like Alex or people like that at all whatsoever. But to me I can’t relate at all to those woman. I don’t drink I didn’t go to college and I just am a married woman so I find people like you guys who I can relate to. I really enjoyed this conversation very insightful from both of you. Peace be upon you and your family always 🤍
Ok I have to say I 100% agree with Sav on this topic. Josh you said it is normal to spend 100 on a Cardigan. Most every dya people go to Wal-mart to get clothing. I also want to say I think sav won the draft to.
I agree with both of you, I think lol. Some influencers only partner with brands that I feel are too expensive for the everyday person. Or wear things that I think aren't realistic for the everyday person, like Josh said. But to Sav's point. They are relatable to someone. Honestly I can't afford everything you all show lol. But I find you guys very relatable and down to earth. Love you guys! And Josh won this draft for me lol. I love how Savannah you picked your favs this time though!
i feel like its flaunting once ppl dont ask. alix earl, for example, makes content that any girl her age would but she happens to have money. she doesn’t make anyone feel bad for not having money & she recognizes verbally that she’s in a very special position in life rn, which i feel like sets her apart & makes her relatable. i think it would be weird if she didn’t show it honestly, bc thats her content structure
Sav is saying “that’s how they grow” referring to influencers . Which I do agree with they want to get noticed.. for me following that point I think that’s exactly what Kendall Jenner & all of them were doing as well, trying to continue to grow. Like y’all said it’s strategic. Yes , Kendall is much more well known or “bigger” than some of these other influencers but if you’re already successful why wouldn’t you want to continue to grow & be that much more successful? With that being said idk about the whole confidence thing I’m going to stay neutral on that but I do feel like by celebrities dressing “regular” it was strategic in the way that at surface level it looks like they just wanna be low key & not get noticed when in reality they know that if they do something different like not do the most when it comes to their Coachella outfit it’s actually going to get MORE attention. the reason I think they do that / know to do that is bc they have been in “the game” so long they understand what’s going to get peoples attention & that’s being different . Bc they are already well known for always having the best of the best when they do the opposite it turns heads …just like with these other influencers they aren’t as well known so they dress up extra so it sets them apart striking interest of others. I think regardless to who’s “side” you’re one with the influencer vs celebrity or Whatever it’s all about just trying to be different to get noticed regardless what end of the spectrum you’re on
Josh is correct in that some influencers "blow up" because a certain group of people live vicariously through some influencers and the more elaborate the more those people thrive on it. Single Influencers work really hard & have a specific following for all the extra, & shiny and family influencers who also work but their following have a different spirit and focus. Sav is correct that everyone has financial levels and what ever your level will dictate your spending freedom. Matthew 7:1-3 Sidebar I like Josh's cardigan😆 Love you guys!
I love y’all and have listened to most of your podcasts but this one had me so confused! 😅 All the assumptions about “influencers” and their outfits and lifestyles and confidence etc. had me so confused! Glad y’all could agree to disagree!! 😂
Also there are eating disorders on the opposite end of the spectrum which can include food addiction. That’s something that a lot of people struggle with also.
Sav won this one for sauces! Ranch and Chick-fil-A sauce! And, my husband and I do well, financially, and have 3 chidlren and I would never buy a cardigan or any clothing item for that matter, that is $100. Shoes, are different. But, clothes. Nope. Love the podcast! #Soshsquad Love you guys!
I definitely agree that although people may not be able to relate to their fav influencers in regards to their lifestyle in its entirety but there is something or alot of somethings that are relatable that keep ppl around & I do agree with the fact that there is an audience for every kind of influencer/ celebrity. Personally, I would consider myself “average” lol & I would buy a $100 cardigan, not because I want to flaunt but because I like nice things & care for the quality. Lol.. anyway, love y’all 🫶🏾
Y’all both had good points in this debate but I ultimately think what it boils down to is being a believer or not…& this doesn’t include the “christians” who DO care about their outward appearance, bc most Christian’s come off more humble and honest online. I can name so many Christian vloggers who are relateable even tho RUclipsrs make more money than me and have a different lifestyle, what makes them relatable are their character.. and no hate but I’m sides more with Josh in this one. I think there’s a way to influence without having to post what their wearing or not make their content about their appearance. People’s intentions who buy expensive things to me just *comes off* as tho they do care more about outward appearance
I definitely wouldn’t buy a 100$ cardigan but I love y’all regardless!!! Love your little fam and I relate to sav so much cause I’m a mama as well!! 💕💕
I agree with Sav, you can't make assumptions about people you don't know. Also I would never spend $100 on a cardigan 😂, but I still watch you
Sav won with the ranch, right out the gate. Spaghetti sauce caused Josh to be disqualified. 😂
I would not spend $100 on a cardigan lol definitely don’t think the average person would 🤣
Same I was like huh? 😂
EXACTLY! i think he took that scenario too personal
I agree with Josh on the “formula” almost every creator has done the “I just bought a Benz” or “no budget shopping spree” in order for their content to be “good” or seen. I get what he means. Right! Focused and all ears .
Right? I want a godly man like that!!!
That's why we pick the content we want to watch, if you feel like a influencer is showing off money I just would not watch them. We watch content that's relatable to you.

I think Sav won the draft with simply chick-fil-a sauce 😂. Also, I 1000% agree with Sav. Goood idea!!

❤️❤️❤️
I definitely hear what you’re both saying, but what Sav says resonates the most with how I feel! I think there’s definitely a way people flaunt their money and “fame”. Sav most definitely won with ranch 🤝🏼and Josh had me crying with the Prego sauce 😂😂
sav won this whole podcast. draft and discussion. no judgement for the winnnn !
This episode was chaotic but entertaining with y’all going back and forth 😂❤
Sav always looks so cozy and cute 🥰
obsessed with this!! Sav definitely won with the sauces !
Not Sav trying to vouch for these "celebrities" like she knows them or something.. lol. I 100% agree with Josh on the discussion!
56:03 agree with sav... You did a vlog going shopping joah said the prices of what he got and I couldn't afford anything you guys bought that day..... But I still love watching y'all
Sav definitely won💗
Do you guys know who Matt and Abby are? I would love for you guys to do a podcast with them!!! AGAIN YALL DO YALL! whatever yall do it will be the best
Yess!! I love them they should do a podcast together
Savannah creating her own NBA team is crazyyy 😂😂😂 “Buckets”
I think if you get invited to be a part of something like Coachella you're gonna live it up, make the best of it that you can, and fit the vibe that Coachella always is...
I’ve been waiting all afternoon for this podcast episode! Love y’all so much and God bless your marriage and family! Boutta go pop some popcorn🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️
I'm totally with Sav on this! Wingstop ranch and chic fil a sauce are top notchhh
i see what josh is saying about influences flaunting money. it can definitely feel like that (not y’all ofc)
Same.
Josh is wayyy outta pocket with the “guac is sauce” comment 😂😂😂
❤️❤️😂😂😂😂😂😂
Would love to hear more about your faith and God rather than about celebrities in your future podcasts! 🥰❤
I 100% agree with Josh on the influencer formula.
Same!!
I have nothing else to say other than the fact that I literally love this family I mean there’s nothing not to love about them
❤️❤️❤️
Josh saying “they ain’t got no brand deal with no dog gone Gucci” has be laughing so hard 😂😂😂 you guys are so funny! Love you Michigan misses you!!
Yes keep the drafts! I love them and the conversations you guys have about what y'all chose
watching this podcast sometimes makes me fall asleep so i definitely agree that savs voice is soothing
Josh. Yes! Bro I feel you on this one
LMFAO SAV WITH THE HAIR FLIP !!!! Whoop pop off girl!
I think you were both assuming because you don't know them, but this was such a great healthy convo!
sav won 🙌🙌
This rant 😅was too much. Let’s talk about something you two DO agree on. Love you two hahaha and josh I’m always on your side but we weren’t talking about spaghetti sauce. It was condiments 😂 you two are funny!
please 🙏🏽 an argument an camera 😭
I feel like you can be more relatable by sticking to some of your original routines and things that you buy..even when you’re blessed and get the money. Everything doesn’t have to be from urban outfitters and lululemon..lol or if you do replace some of your drugstore items with a more expensive (clean) brand you can always reference back to where you can get a similar item or product for less expensive. ❤love the conversation!
Savannah definitely one that! Josh likes to throw something in from left field every draft 😂 lost it on the RED sauce!
I'm a May Baby, too 🎉❤ yayyy! Praying you guys have a happy and healthy labor with baby girl ❤ Congratulations again 🎉 ❤
Also, maybe just let people do with their money what they wish really lol
love you guys so much❤. Can't believe i slept on these pods😅
I'm with Josh on the discussion. Sav is coming at Josh for assuming when she's doing the same thing and vouching for influencers/celebrities she doesn't personally know 😂
I would love to see a draft on best gas station/ road-trip snacks! Also loved this podcast, I loved listening to y’all’s point of view.😊
i think there’s a difference between financial/situational relatability and just relatability in personality. i’m not a parent, i live alone, and y’all are clearly in a different tax bracket 😂 but you guys are actually still incredibly relatable to me on other levels. on the other hand, i’m a student with roommates, but i don’t find Alix Earle remotely relatable because i would never be out all night clubbing and getting drunk. so i also don’t think there’s an overall definition of ‘relatability’ - i think that can only be evaluated individually.
I’m with josh on the draft, he won me over with the barbecue & hot sauce 😂
I definitely agree with josh with the celebrity topic and the flaunting money
I totally agree with Josh,
I agree with sav to a certain extent but I agree more with Josh here. Peace be upon you and your family always 🤍
josh hand down won , sorry sav next draft you should do pop tarts/ little debbie cookies ❤❤
Its so close! I honestly say josh only because of the BBQ ANDD he said wendys bbq!! Yesss! He knowsssss 🔥🔥🔥
Sav won this draft! 😂 she got most of my favorite sauces on her list.
Love yall both!! Definitely Josh for the win 🙌🏾
The Prego meat sauce is fire. Plus you can use it to dip your mozzarella sticks in it too
Okay Sav you definitely took the Dub on this one!! Loooove campfire sauce
Also the BEST honey mustard is wings tops honey mustard!!
Sav won! Her line up was the best hands down!
I can’t believe no one just said mayo! Mayo and wing stop ranch is so fire and Illinois residents know that Avantis ranch hitssss
i feel like its flaunting once ppl dont ask. alix earl, for example, makes content that any girl her age would but she happens to have money. she doesn’t make anyone feel bad for not having money & she recognizes verbally that she’s in a very special position in life rn, which i feel like sets her apart & makes her relatable. i think it would be weird if she didn’t show it honestly, bc thats her content structure
This was such a great & healthy looking way to communicate!
I think regardless to who’s “side” you’re one with the influencer vs celebrity or Whatever it’s all about just trying to be different to get noticed regardless what end of the spectrum you’re on
Ok… Sav one with ranch and chic fil a sauce!! For sureee
Sav definitely won the draft!!
I mean I’m relating to savanna all day hahaha this is so fun to watch!
Also really wish y’all could see when we like and try to keep re-liking hahaha
Josh is correct in that some influencers "blow up" because a certain group of people live vicariously through some influencers and the more elaborate the more those people thrive on it. Single Influencers work really hard & have a specific following for all the extra, & shiny and family influencers who also work but their following have a different spirit and focus. Sav is correct that everyone has financial levels and what ever your level will dictate your spending freedom. Matthew 7:1-3 Sidebar I like Josh's cardigan😆 Love you guys!
I’m with josh on the sauce draft ! Barbecue, ketchup and franks hot sauce are top tier 😋
This debate was incredibly interesting to listen to.
I love y’all and have listened to most of your podcasts but this one had me so confused! 😅 All the assumptions about “influencers” and their outfits and lifestyles and confidence etc. had me so confused! Glad y’all could agree to disagree!! 😂
I agree with Savannah. Ranch. And then also Honey Mustard with chicken tenders😋
Josh won 1000%!!!!
#Soshsquad
Love you guys!
Lol.. anyway, love y’all 🫶🏾
😊😊
Y’all both had good points in this debate but I ultimately think what it boils down to is being a believer or not…& this doesn’t include the “christians” who DO care about their outward appearance, bc most Christian’s come off more humble and honest online. I can name so many Christian vloggers who are relateable even tho RUclipsrs make more money than me and have a different lifestyle, what makes them relatable are their character.. and no hate but I’m sides more with Josh in this one. I think there’s a way to influence without having to post what their wearing or not make their content about their appearance. People’s intentions who buy expensive things to me just *comes off* as tho they do care more about outward appearance
honestly the best way to start my week 😭
sav definitely won with the ranch and chickfila sauce!!! those are my 2 favorites
You can dip a breadstick in the Prego! I was lost at the Prego, until I thought of that! LOL
I definitely wouldn’t buy a 100$ cardigan but I love y’all regardless!!! Love your little fam and I relate to sav so much cause I’m a mama as well!! 💕💕
Josh's cardigan may be $100 BUT we all had no idea it was until Sav said it was. He didn't flaunt it.
Good point
Very true
