I am about to change bearing(s) on a 1 hp Hayward Super Pump. Is it possible if just changing the front bearing to remove the guts without removing and having to realign those 4 long through screws?
Never thought of it but it seems logical that the rear bearing wouldn't be susceptible to the same water damage as the front bearing which is closer to the wet end.
Also, I saw a rubber gasket/washer on your bench. Is that rubber supposed to be on the shaft at the front end? I saw a video that describes one such rubber as a "water sling" (slings the water away) keeping water that may be on the shaft from getting into the motor.
Just do what's in the video. Have to pull the shaft anyway to get to the front or back bearing. Once a year, look at your pump for any leaks. Including the seal.
I changed both front bearing on my pumps. One pump sounds great, the other sounds really good in low speed, but when it switches tto high speed it has a bit of a scream to it... have you ever ran into this issue ? Maybe the back bearing ?
Hard to say. Could be the seal
What size is this bearing puller??
Link should be in the video description..
Shame no sample of the bearing sound
you'll know. but here is one sound in this video. ruclips.net/video/th2d0vozCAE/видео.html
