Easy to answer on WHY these spiders over took this house. The answer to why is demons. House had an evil presence.. A specific type of evil that brings with it, spiders. Due to a curse/hex on that property or that family is also a reason but both reasons are due to demons. Fact. Common sense.
About the disappearance of that scuba diving couple, the Lonnigans (story #6 beginning @ about 17:00), I think it's much more feasible that they faked their own deaths, something you (i.e., the narrator) claims is unlikely because they left their IDs and never claimed their life insurance. That's all part of faking your death. And one reason to do that is to make a completely fresh start. Plus, who's to say that, though they may have left money in their wallets, they did not have more money, which they kept on their persons. Getting low-level jobs -- enough to survive on -- is relatively easy within a day or two and many are not reported. Then they could have built up from that. Also, being Peace Corps missionaries, I doubt they would be easily frightened after being abandoned. Especially if they planned it. They probably were picked up by that boat the next day and had secreted essential stores in their suits to survive the night. And, lastly, it's the only explanation for why their items were found undamaged. Had they been attacked by sharks, these would have at least been torn, if not shredded. And the slate may just have been a way to throw searchers off their tracks.
I was bitten by (I think) a recluse spider between my eyebrows while sleeping. When I got up the next morning it looked like a huge pimple with a center of white. I carefully took a sterilized needle and picked away the white center and when it caved in after draining, I knew that I need to watch it closely. Sure enough within a day the bridge of my nose and my eyes became swollen. Necrosis was beginning to establish within the bite. I was literally scared out of my mind and got myself to the hospital. I couldn't say for sure that it was a recluse, but I had been finding a lot of spiders in my apartment. The spiders were prevalent enough in my bedroom that I ended up taking all of my fabric drapery off of my windows just to be sure that there weren't any spiders nesting in them. It took about a month for the small hole in between my eyes to heal. I'm seriously concerned when I find spiders in my apartment after seeing what one can do! They are dangerous! Where I was bitten on my face could have been life-threatening! I now watch for spiders and kill every single one that I find! If you're finding spiders in your home -- take it seriously! Do something to get rid of them. Now that I've been bitten by one, I'm constantly looking around at the tops of my ceilings, because spiders love to be high up (if they want to come down, they'll just use their tales with the silk they use to make webs). There's a lot of truth to the nursery rhyme, "Little Miss Muffet, sat on her tuffet, eating her curds and whey. Along came a spider who sat down beside her . . . spiders will drop down from the ceiling and will land right on your face! It happened to me while I was sleeping! True story!

9:42 I just want to clarify that brown recluses are NOT the same species as black widows and their venom contains vastly different compounds. Brown recluse species is 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘢 and black widow species is 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘴. These two different species are also not in the same genus (widow: 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴, recluse: 𝘓𝘰𝘹𝘰𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴), nor the same family (widow: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘪𝘢𝘦, recluse: 𝘚𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘦) They share no genetic similarities until reaching the taxonomy rank of order, where they both belong to the 𝘈𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘦 order that refers to all spider species (meaning they are arachnids that have 8 legs and are air-breathing). Their venom effects are also not as similar as the video indicated. The recluse’s cytotoxic venom causes tissue necrosis alone and unless bitten in a vital area such as the neck or head (or the person is severely allergic to the venom), will not be able to result in death. On the other hand, the widow’s neuromuscular venom damages both the tissues and the neurological system if the body’s reaction is bad enough and effects can travel further through the body’s systems. Both spider species generally could be considered antisocial as they both prefer hiding and avoiding any confrontation with anything other than potential prey. Sorry for the science lesson to anyone who actually read it, I just enjoy spiders and like to educate others on them to reduce the stigma around these helpful creatures
About the diver couple, the movie was inspired by their case, but the characters, including their names, are made up. Her wetsuit was found with large tears in it, but it was believed to have become caught on corals, and that perhaps she took it off in a case of paradoxical undressing immediately before dying. The later part of the story, I had never heard, and those are some interesting theories, but anyone can be tired of life and perhaps even have suicidal thoughts, and still absolutely want to live when faced with a life or death situation. The fact that they wrote a note - something that couldn't really help them, it's not like sending out a distress call - shows they were desperate, and really didn't want to die, and were not faking their deaths.
I can't believe I've never heard of this before. This is hands down one of the most terrible things I've ever heard. It's crazy to me that each of subsequent nurse killed and abused had to sit there listening, knowing that almost certainly their time was coming. What an awful fate.
I live in Utah valley, and the Nutty Putty Cave story has always freaked me out. Caving in general freaks me out, but I can't imagine the nightmare of being stuck like that. I hope John didn't suffer long, and that his family is doing alright.
The scariest thing about the spider house is it was so random and not even spider experts can explain why this happened. I have had pest controllers tell me that spiders are not known to infest. That if you have a "spider infestation" it means you actually have an infestation of some other bug that they are eating. Typically spiders only go where food sources are and it's rare for them to infest an entire property to such a degree. Especially brown recluses as brown recluses live in solitude for the most part and are very territorial toward other brown recluse spiders. I definitely don't think it was fair to sue the former owners if they say they didn't have a spider problem. The buyers in no way could prove that the former owners had this issue. And if the problem was as severe as they say, the buyers would have noticed this during their first tour of the house, and during inspections. If the spiders weren't there during these times, then they weren't there when the former owners had the house. I honestly wonder if someone wasn't releasing spiders into their house on purpose or something. Like in a targeted act of harassment. Either this, or they had termites or something that these spiders were eating.
I was confused too about such a high density of brown recluses infesting one location. The name recluse is a description of their behavior, they’re so antisocial I can’t imagine what could have caused thousands of them to gather- going completely against the recluse’s habits that they’re known for
@@Bagheeraday I wonder if this was an insurance claim attempt that backfired. Maybe they brought them in to their own house. An infestation to such a degree would have been noticed before they even moved in. Especially if the house had been empty. Nothing for them to hide in or behind or under.
Maybe so. Most likely an insurance attempt gone wrong. Or they angered someone. Maybe they outbid someone else who also had really wanted that house. Kind of like what was possibly the case for "The Watcher" situation.
The "Nutty Putty" cave story really bugs me. Wife, new baby, career, why put yourself at risk of like that, and wreck the lives of those who love you, if it goes wrong? A hobby is a hobby, but that was risky and selfish.....
I hated my cable company so much as they kept upping our monthly bill yet offering nothing in return, so I’m glad more and more people are cutting the cord every year. Cable companies deserve to go out of business. Some are definitely worse than others, but they’re all crap.
Spider house story really bothered me. Not so much because of the spiders, but because they went through the whole court process, won, and still got nothing and just had to leave.
I really feel sorry for the family with the spider infested house. The previous owners are human trash, don't tell me the spiders just showed up within days from nowhere... Even though you could get rid of all spiders, I would be still paranoid and alerted nonstop, my eyes would check every wall and corner... When I see a spider in my apartment and I remove it outside in a cup, I still can't relax...
Holy Smokes! Just an FYI on #4. I’m from St.Louis, MO, and Weldon Springs has a significant nuclear waste site! Not sure how close the house is to the site or if the remaining waste could impact the spider situation, but it sure sounds like a terrific X-Files episode!
9 was an absolute shock to me. Given the starting premise, we all understand from the start that he died, but I was wondering the whole time how you would then recover the body of a person who died stuck in a cave? And then heard that they left him there. It's sickening to think of. Imagine your loved one, unable to be recovered and buried, stuck in the place he died forever. I know it happens with shipwrecks too, but this feels just that much worse.
Oh man i can't stand cave stories let alone these U Tubers making videos doing so. I would die from heart shock knowing I'm stuck a certain way or trapped. Hell naww
I read more on this story today (something that will be stuck in my head for a week). Top5s made an error in the photo of the rescuer Susie, the first article I found (that Top5s quotes almost verbatim) shows the photo which is said to be of "Cami Pulham", another cave explorer. I read other articles as well, and while I thought John had been at some 40 degree-ish angle, it turns out he was almost completely vertical, straight down, and the cave roof where he had gone down was so low that they couldn't pull him out without breaking his legs. In the end, when the pulley went loose right above him, it struck the nearest rescuer (the cave was extremely tight for many, many meters through several twists and turns before his location, so only one person could reach him at a time) in the face, and he had to switch with his dad. The second rescuer (dad of the former) then tried to reach down to grab John around the waist, but got momentarily stuck himself, and he switched with a third rescuer. After the winch had gone loose and dropped John, he was breathing very shallowly and did not speak anymore, so he probably died very soon after that or lost consciousness with the drop. It was on the fourth pull that the winch went loose, and before that, on the third, they had pulled him up so far that the rescuer could make eyecontact with him. "He looked tired, his eyes were red, and his face was dirty, but he seemed fine otherwise." "The rescuer saw that even though John was complaining, he had a smile on his face." In the end, it seems that at that angle, even if they had rescued him hours before his ultimate death, he would have died anyway when they would have flipped him right side up again, due to the extreme stress on his body (I read from a person who knows more about medicine than me). And his wife was pregnant with their second child. It's just such a pointless tragedy. He had gone into the wrong part of the cave, not the Birth Canal, and got stuck in a series of extremely narrow tunnels that led nowhere. I know we should be respectful about the dead, but if I had been his family, I would have been furious with him. Why why why why would you decide to go further into a deep hole, at an 80+ degree angle, so tight you have to exhale to crawl deeper?
Ikr? I feel that, like you stated, the deceased is forever lying where they died, like a shipwreck. Tales of shipwrecks are scary, but they occur on the vast open ocean. Between unfortunate weather & immense bodies of water, it's "expected", to a degree. Whereas the caving incident happened on Terra firma, far inland and during an activity practiced by thousands of people every year.. so it's more unsettling that a death occurred with the victim forever in situation as if he had been aboard an inland Titanic.
About Cora, the Speck survivor, and what she said about God "looking out for her that night, God is so nice". I can never understand why people think like that: does she think she is special, more deserving to live than the 8 fellow nursing students who were murdered? Like, really? God had a plan for her, not for them? I will never understand how people can believe such things.
9:45 “Necrotic venom” are words I hope to never have the need to know more about. 1:00:06 I’ve heard about this case before, but it’s interesting. And I agree, it probably is the strangest missing person’s case in all of Europe. There’s absolutely no chance his entire body was absorbed by the acid, so someone had to have abducted him right after the strange accident. Speaking of which, why was his dad driving so bizarrely? What was with all the quick and sudden stops? Had someone messed with their truck, possibly did something to the breaks, whilst they were inside the cafe eating? This story has puzzled me for years.
If it helps you feel better, recluse spiders' chelicerae are a little on the small side to puncture human skin. Usually a bite happens when the spider gets trapped between skin and clothing. But yeah, necrotic venom. Eugh
No. 3 I have seen this before a few times, and they said she was fused to a couch [sofa] not a chair. No matter, what matters is that girl was left this way by her so-called parents. Just heartbreaking in so many ways
I believe these are 2 different knstances that may have been combined and/or confused, the girl who was fused to a couch was not 75 years old and did not weigh 550lbs.
I just wondered if she was sitting in the chair for 7 months how did she get food and water? And if someone fed her, why weren’t they prosecuted for neglect?
Guys if you're falling asleep to these like I do... just as an advert comes up, rotate your phone and change the new comfort mode on or off and it freezes the advert on the countdown and the video continues. I recently stopped paying for premium because its not worth the price, this works anywhere and you won't get another advert in that video because technically the first one hasn't stopped 👌
The lady of the dunes was just identified as Ruth Marie Terry and it’s speculated that her husband killed her but nothing can be done as he died years ago
I think the man who was found in the septic tank has now been identified. I just hope the police can find the person who murdered him and the reason why he was tortured before his death.
The Open Water story is very disturbing and it doesn’t make sense, imo. If they really were very experienced divers, they would have known that you never lose sight of your group when you’re on a dive. I’ve been diving since the 1980’s and no matter how confident I may feel on a dive, I would never go off alone with my buddy, if I’m diving with a group. Maybe it was about the “death wish” that was mentioned in their journal, or maybe they weren’t as experienced as they claimed. It’s tragic, regardless, but it was preventable. Thanks for all you do bringing these stories to us.
Many do it. Happens more than you know. Back on my Rez, I don’t know how many times women were charged for leaving kids at home. But charges are usually dropped. Disgusting.
Bruh could've just avoided the dope pills or whatever "medicine" she went to get. Then when she did get it. She went where with that "medicine"? Not straight home. She's fucking getting high and it killed one of her kids. Terrible fucking mother, smoke weed. Could do that in a room away from your kid. Not 2 fucking streets over doing God knows what. For whatever kind of high those kinds of ppl are chasing. Disgusting af if you ask me. Disgusting af! Poor kiddo deserved so much more than 17 months.
I was left alone often when my brother and I were young as my parents needed to work or not feed us and as much as my brother annoyed me I would know better at that age to put him in the oven.
I’m confused, if he took each one into the room, why didn’t they try to escape, and Cora didn’t even try to free them. Then she has the freaking nerve to say god spared her, and not the other 8 while she cowardly hid.
Brown recluse and black widows aren't the same species, they aren't in the same genus or even in the same family. (For comparison, dogs and wolves share a family with all other canines, and humans share a family with all the great apes.) There are five species of black widow alone.
That Barbara Foster story is confusing the heck out of me, if she survived 7 months stuck in her own feces, that volunteer was clearly watering and feeding her, so why didnt her call for help as soon as she got stuck in her chair, or at least when she was clearly not moving with feces and urine around her? And how the heck is that not criminal? Leaving a helpless woman who is in clear distress and need for 7 months but still feed and water her?!! I dont understand! :0
Right! Initially I was all for the buyers but as the story went on, I have questions. It seems impossible none of the neighbors had seen a spider at all. Also there are generally 2 inspections done prior to the purchase of a house (at least where I'm from). In the end a pest removal company is hired. The buyers said their insurance wouldnt pay because there were no physical damages to the home. If they had just hired pest control (which seems obvious to me) then not only would they have solved the problem but at the very least they would have receipts and documentation, something tangible for the insurance companies to consider. Doesn't make sense to me. If it was accidental, like from the buyers" previous home, I would think there would be a similar story coming from that neighborhood. I guess intentional is the only option left but we will probably never know who or why.
Hmm, on the matter of the "old lady stuck in a chair for 7 months" story. If she had been stuck in a chair for 7 months, she would have been dead for at least 6 of them due to dehydration and/or starvation. somebody either got their dates mixed up or its just a blatant lie.
All tragic cases are very sad and tragic indeed. However, for me, the nutty putty cave incident John Jones was the most deeply affecting for my emotions.
It could have been the ghost of an astronaut, or the ghost of the very first chimp that was launched into space, come a knockin wanting to come back to earth
HELL NO I could never share a house with 6000 spiders 😱 I once had a spider in my bedroom I ran out so quick shut the door and taped the whole door of I wouldn’t step foot in my bedroom for about two months. I’m terrified of spiders and would die on the spot. I can’t share a room let alone a house with thousands.
I believe women like Thompson should have to get a tubal ligation per law. If you CANNOT take care of yourself or 6 kids, then you don't need to be pregnant AGAIN!! What a horrendous story. So freaking sad. These cases make my brain hurt. My heart too....even for the criminals childhoods. This is why I keep to myself.
the Pauline Picard story is very bizzarre. the fact that its possible that the family sent thier own child back for adoption is horrifying... aswel as the murders of course.
U make the best videos and the best narrative voice. Yet many of these video's are sad, many are very interesting and educational history. #1 was devastating #2 occult leader was sick! Why in the world would that silly girl go back to him to suffer more torture? #50 is not too surprising, just awful
Septic tank Sam was identified in January 2021. His name is Gordon "Gordie" Edwin Sanderson. Also, you inadvertently got the description of the Byford Dolphin accident completely wrong. The accident occurred in the open air on the platform, not under the sea. Also, the chamber did not crush, it decompressed from 9 ATM to 1 ATM(atmosphere) in less than a second. Causing the very high-pressure air in the chamber to vent out the small gap (when one side of the clamp was prematurely undone) between the diving bell and the decompression chamber. This completely tore apart the first diver (the one in between the diving bell and the chamber) and one of the 2 diving tenders. To the point where what was left was barely recognizable as a human corpse. Some parts were spread over 30m away. The remaining 2 divers died almost immediately from severe decompression sickness.

@@Bagheeraday I wonder if this was an insurance claim attempt that backfired. Maybe they brought them in to their own house. An infestation to such a degree would have been noticed before they even moved in. Especially if the house had been empty. Nothing for them to hide in or behind or under.
They were cursed.
No cable for 5 years, no need! You never fail to satisfy my morbid curiosity.
I hated my cable company so much as they kept upping our monthly bill yet offering nothing in return, so I’m glad more and more people are cutting the cord every year. Cable companies deserve to go out of business. Some are definitely worse than others, but they’re all crap.
Off T.V for twenty years and never missed it .Anyone who uses T.V. is a person to be pitied.
I don't even bother with television anymore
Story 29: “The Lady Of The Dunes” has been identified as Ruth Marie Terry .. may she rest in peace
"He looked tired, his eyes were red, and his face was dirty, but he seemed fine otherwise." "The rescuer saw that even though John was complaining, he had a smile on his face."
In the end, it seems that at that angle, even if they had rescued him hours before his ultimate death, he would have died anyway when they would have flipped him right side up again, due to the extreme stress on his body (I read from a person who knows more about medicine than me).
Yes..🤔.. Why?.. and they had to know about positional asphyxiation… in such tight spaces.. weird case for sure..🤔. .. RIP🥺❤️
I stay away from caves tunnels etc.Ships too for that matter!
Good God the 1st story was more than enough.
Bless that baby.
I woke up this morning with a wonderful surprise, I love your stories top5s,150+ minutes of 😊joy!!
I don’t get how the lady would get stuck to the couch .. that’s a terrifying way to die
That was the most disturbing one for me. I gagged a little.
Hell yeah! Thank you Top5s. I’m getting my cup of coffee and blanket ready❤😂
Quite right! 👍🏻☕🛋️
Yeah man same here, coffee is awesome dude
Are you still drinking coffee in your blanket? Pretty long ass video!!
My Grandmother Pearl was bitten by a brown recluse when she was a child and she an open wound on her leg for the rest of her life.
@@rhondagreynolds1297 thank you
I just wondered if she was sitting in the chair for 7 months how did she get food and water? And if someone fed her, why weren’t they prosecuted for neglect?
Guys if you're falling asleep to these like I do... just as an advert comes up, rotate your phone and change the new comfort mode on or off and it freezes the advert on the countdown and the video continues.
I recently stopped paying for premium because its not worth the price, this works anywhere and you won't get another advert in that video because technically the first one hasn't stopped 👌
Premium is a rip off and it’s not worth the high price.

The lady of the dunes was just identified as Ruth Marie Terry and it’s speculated that her husband killed her but nothing can be done as he died years ago
I think the man who was found in the septic tank has now been identified. I just hope the police can find the person who murdered him and the reason why he was tortured before his death.
Septic tank Sam?
I live in Edmonton and know where Tolfield is. I also seem to remember the victim has been identified.
His name is Gordie Sanderson. He had a rough life.
@@jdsteppenzyde Was there any updates on why he was murdered and who was responsible.
@@susanmcdermott3668 No. They think it was criminals that knew him or he might have crossed somehow, but that’s just speculation.
Number one wow
My thoughts go out to that true that child
R.I.P THAT ONE MADE ME FEEL REALLY SAD
The Open Water story is very disturbing and it doesn’t make sense, imo. If they really were very experienced divers, they would have known that you never lose sight of your group when you’re on a dive. I’ve been diving since the 1980’s and no matter how confident I may feel on a dive, I would never go off alone with my buddy, if I’m diving with a group. Maybe it was about the “death wish” that was mentioned in their journal, or maybe they weren’t as experienced as they claimed. It’s tragic, regardless, but it was preventable. Thanks for all you do bringing these stories to us.
How can a parent leave four children under 5 alone because she wants to go out. Who does that?
My mom
Many do it. Happens more than you know. Back on my Rez, I don’t know how many times women were charged for leaving kids at home. But charges are usually dropped. Disgusting.
Another banger thank you for pulling me out of my own personal hell keep these coming
I have to say I watch these when my depression or anxiety is bad too.
*Cyber hug*
Hope that things improve for you soon.
wtf is it with these people torturing animals ??
Exactly! I h8 that! Just sick, heartless ppl
I’ve been watching your content for years now, and it just keeps getting better and better. Keep up the good work! ❤
First one was just heartbreaking 💔 😢 shame on that mom
Why you blame mum? It was the kids that put the baby in the oven, they were old enough to understand what they did was awful
The lady of the Dunes has finally been identified! So has septic tank Sam!
How can two officers transporting a criminal not be armed and cautious at all times??
The incompetence will never cease to piss me off.
I’m confused, if he took each one into the room, why didn’t they try to escape, and Cora didn’t even try to free them. Then she has the freaking nerve to say god spared her, and not the other 8 while she cowardly hid.
1:20:00…. Nice “top 5” logo hidden in the “Sarah Joe” boat, along the top edge!
Where I don't see it?
Brown recluse and black widows aren't the same species, they aren't in the same genus or even in the same family. (For comparison, dogs and wolves share a family with all other canines, and humans share a family with all the great apes.) There are five species of black widow alone.
Yeah I really didn't get why he even made that claim. Wasn't necessary and just sounds like sensationalism.
Humans are not related to apes in any way

This video was fantastic. Took me a couple days to get through, but I REALLY enjoyed it. Terrific job!
Beautiful, about to go to sleep and needed a long video and you delivered!
Thanx again for great compilation top5s.
All of these stories were chilling and unsettling..
Thank you for sharing, Top5s..👻👍💖
Thanks for this upload, as it's getting me through some boredom. Very interesting 👌
Oh WOW these all were great to hear. Definitely, Will be looking out for more. 👍😀
OMG 😳 the spider house!! Terrifying to me!
Just a note: Rasputin was born in Siberia (Russian empire), not Serbia...
A 2.5 hour vid from top 5. Never clicked a vid so fast. *grabs popcorn*
Too bad that indigenous tribe in Peru didn't get their way with that serial killer
LOL the spiders shown during the spider house clip are not even brown recluse. It's probably the most misidentified spider in the USA.
The Beast of Gévaudan will always be one of my favorite Werewolf mentions.
There is but only one truly terrifying thing to me on this earth! SPIDERS! Yeah, you can keep that house lol
It's Jillian just spelt with a G it annoys me because my aunt is called Gillian

Yeap… see ya in 2 and a half hours
I really enjoy your videos. Can you either lower the music or speak louder
It’s probably the accent 😂 every time I make it louder it gets too loud then when I lower it i can’t hear it lol
Hmm, on the matter of the "old lady stuck in a chair for 7 months" story. If she had been stuck in a chair for 7 months, she would have been dead for at least 6 of them due to dehydration and/or starvation. somebody either got their dates mixed up or its just a blatant lie.
She had food taken in by someone who apparently didn’t notice the human waste, bizarre
Love your videos. 😸
No signs of a struggle,... Bro, she was missing an arm, hands, and was nearly decapitated.... THAT'S a struggle 😂
Omg the spider one I would leave the house straight away !! X
This video was really good. Thank you Top5s
In the first story, "when they returned 13 years later, the children were still in their beds...". Did I mishear that? *_13 years_* ???
WE don't know where Pedro is BUT THE ALPHABET FOLKS DO!
I ALWAYS SAY KILLERS SHOULD HAVE DONE TO THEM THE SAME PUNISHMENT THEY DONE TO OTHERS !!
The only thing I don't believe about the moon landing, is the actual moon landing part!!!🤔
HELL NO I could never share a house with 6000 spiders 😱
I once had a spider in my bedroom I ran out so quick shut the door and taped the whole door of I wouldn’t step foot in my bedroom for about two months. I’m terrified of spiders and would die on the spot. I can’t share a room let alone a house with thousands.
How the hell did the home inspection/pest inspection not catch those spiders? NEVER bypass a home inspection or pest inspection on an expensive house!

It’s weird how many of these stories became similar plots on CSI tv series.
Wtf?! You are telling me parents didn’t know their own child? Come on… that sounds ridiculous af.
The music for the spider house is very fitting
the Pauline Picard story is very bizzarre. the fact that its possible that the family sent thier own child back for adoption is horrifying... aswel as the murders of course.
