At best, I think what happening here is that the ring was also corrpruted by Brainiac. So either Branic' control was bleeding into Shark, or the ring is using it' own will to take over and kill the SS.
But if any of this is true, the game absolutely fails to explain within the text.

I’m not even that much of a fan of DC but even I know Green Lantern rings don’t work like that at all. If he’s dead it’d fly off to whomever it sees as worthy and even if it chose king shark the ring would grow to fit his ring finger like every other ring can.

Kinda. It’s like a super tiny incredibly advanced machine. That’s why it has to get charged up by those lanterns. You probably saw one of those ring-charging lanterns in a movie or cartoon.
Whenever the ring’s owner dies, it will automatically connect to whatever scanning system it has and find another person capable of wearing it. It can only ever be worn by people capable of incredible willpower

There are two movies and a game for suicide squad and only one JL movie and no games. Fuck we haven't even gotten a Superman game which should of came after the Arkham series. One of the main reasons why… having a Lantern’s Ring is the most powerful thing you can ever obtain. You may not be on par with Superman’s power but you can sure stand your ground up against anyone. Imagine a person who has powerful imagination having a green lantern’s ring

you can find audiotapes which are explaining how exactly JL got brainwashed, and that just makes situation worse.
In those tapes it is implied that JL lost like a bunch of bafoons almost without a fight with superman being like: “Oh, a giant evil looking freaking skull is approaching earth! Batman is trying to make up a contingency plan? F*ck that, that skull is probably friendly. Let’s go talk with its owner without any Plan B!”
And then flash, out of all people, saves Wonder Woman and not Superman or Batman. (Ok maybe he couldn’t save them but still, frick that)

How the hell did he get Superman first? Flash was able to get himself and wonder woman out of the ship but that ended up with the rest being corrupted, also flash was hiding on the watch tower, so that’s why nobody knew where he was

Logic aside, I really liked this scene, probably cause I love shark and the orchestra went hard.
Green lantern rings don't work like that at all. Even assuming that King Shark had managed to capture the ring the moment it went searching the universe for a new bearer, the moment he slipped it on his finger nothing could happen because the ring had not chosen him as the new Green Lantern.
And anyway, the fact that the shark construct turns around and goes to work to eat them doesn't really make sense either. Green Lantern constructs are nothing more than physical aggregates of the bearer's will, they have no consciousness of their own they take and do as they please.
The instant transition to green lantern getting shot and being defeated was hilarious

It's also funny that King Shark struggles to get the ring even though they change the size to fit the wearer. I mean Mogo is a literal Planet and he is a ring. So the Joke doesn't even make sense. Also like people have pointed out the ring should've flown back to Oa or found a new person. I mean they could've had the ring fly to one of the squads, instead of having King Shark rip it off John's finger. Hal only got the ring since he was the best candidate within like 50 miles of Abin Sur. The lantern ring cannot kill someone unless you have an extreme amount of willpower like Hal that one time when he became evil or Batman in that Dark Nights metal series. I highly doubt King Shark of all Characters has nearly that much willpower. Also, why did he instantly try and kill the squad? It's the Green Lantern ring, not the Red one.
Tbf though, mogo's ring is a normal size ring, in the comics its just on a branch and in the animated series, halburied it in him

John turning evil would have made the ring fly away.
The ring should not have allowed itself to be used by King Shark, instead flying away from it's diseased user in search for a new one.
One thing they seem to depict correctly is that King Shark does not have enough willpower to wield a green ring and gets tired fast. Most likely a yellow, red or teal ring would choose him. And to think that Oliver Queen's "cynic" will power was only able to create a single arrow against Siniestro.
Green rings do not control their users as Red, Purple and particularly Teal do. And even of he was, he is NO Siniestro to try and claim the green power and make the "King Shark Corps". Or all this happened because ION is a fish??
I don't know how Hall wore kilowog's and Hannu's rings in Emerald Twilight, but if rings can adapt to their users as The One Ring from Lord of the Rings, then it shouldn't be a problem in this case.

I do agree. Honestly killer shark is the best thing about this game, but it only because the rest of the game is so shit imo. That's what I find ridiculous about the whole game story wise. This is their first time meeting, all of them are career criminals with a general disregard for human life; with king shark and Harley Quinn being the WORST of the four. Waller tells them all, if one of them blows the others up then that one gets to live and work as an agent, so all 4 of these guys don't fight to kill each other but have some goofy guardians of the galaxy scene thing? No, king shark would kill them all without a second thought. And probably enjoy eating them alive.
They want us to accept the squad being friends without putting the work in writing a relationship between them all.
