Today we go to Padawans house to shut down and restart his reef tank. He has never been fully happy with his aquarium as it's always given him little problems here and there. Follow along as we set up his new Reef Tank all in one day. #AaronsAquarium
Thank you so much for this video , I’ve been doing research on how to start my first saltwater aquarium and this video showing us has helped the most . You’re awesome man.
Thank you for the video you made, this is very useful for my knowledge of how to set up a saltwater aquarium. In my acquaintance, I really admire the videos that you made about the saltwater aquarium. And I am also a marine aquarium hobbyist.
Great vid mike. Must have seen hundreds of tanks being set up over the years but never gets boring. Your presentation and editing was also top notch 👌👍
hi great video the tank looks amazing i have kept tropical fish for years i ve always wanted marine tank so now im just watching and reading everthing i can be for i start im glad found your channel thank you
Great video as always! The volume seems a little weird, though. I had to turn it up really loud to hear the narration, but then the music is so loud! I'm watching at work over lunch and my whole office was jamming out to the music, haha!
Hi Aaron just a quick question I love your programme please keep it up. I want to talk lighting I have a reefer 200xl witch is coming with reefer 90hd light but thinking the radion xr15 or xr30 gen lights are better I want to grow more coral than fish and would like a descent light so I have the chance to grow some sps corals and be successful can you help please I can’t decide Many thanks James
What a transformation ..... I love the new scape it’s give the tank a whole new look and it’s amazing .... wish I could pay someone to come and do something with my tank :( I want to change the scape and the substrate bit I’m too scared to do it myself incase I do it all wrong and lose everything :( great job Michael and looking forward to seeing who you visit next 🤗🤗
Hey Arron thank you for your videos... I’m just starting a tank from the ground up... I wanted to know do you use atm colony and fritz aquatics fritzzyme together? Or one or the other... because I notice in some of the vids you used either or to cycle the tank faster.
Newb question, did Padawan initially setup with live coral/sand, and is that why he had a mantis shrimp? Did the eggs/lava hitch hike in? on live substrate?
Nice scape, I really like that rock. Love how the fish congregate around it, makes it look natural. Big question though: did you get the mantis shrimp?
Great video. I'm going to be setting up my reefer 250 in a couple of weeks and will be going minimalist. It looks far cleaner, more natural and is much easier to look after than a wall of rock. What are you using to hold the rock together?
They are in a separate tank while the tank cycles. I've done this so he can keep the lights off this will help the bacteria established and stop the Growth of any unsightly algae. When are you getting a new tank?
Aarons Aquarium not sure yet just trying to get ourselves sorted out but as soon as i am i will be ringin u hahahaha thats why havnt been about for ages x
Hi Aaron! Nice video, and a beautiful scape. What did u guys do with the old rock? Gave it away or just threw it in the bin? I want to start my new tank with dry rock and dont know what to do with my old liferock..
No not at all. We have been collecting data to show you guys in the next update on this tank. The results should answer your question. Keep an eye out for an update on Padawans tank.
would be nice if you could equalize the volume of the music in your videos to that of your voice. gets kinda tedious raising and lowering the volume every so often during the video.
Aarons Aquarium shame you couldn't of put that piece of rock in water to see. Would of been worth abit if it was a peacock mantis. We had a hitchhiker one years ago, ended up taking it to a sealife centre after it killed everything in our tank 😫
I personally think so yes. I personally feel filtration should happen in our filtration area using medias like Bio Home helps make that happen. This then gives us the ability to be creative with our display area.

Hi there did you use to drive artics for Howard Tenens for Toolsation on the Manchester 2 run ?? As I think I know you ?
I sure did.
Aarons Aquarium didn’t realise you was into fish tanks and it’s me Anthony Johnson I use to load your trailer
Quick question, when you mixed the salt in the tank is it only mixing with the wavemakers? Or is the whole filtration on?
I’m surprised you could get a word in Aaron. Padawan never stopped talking!😂
I’m liking these new install videos. Keep them coming!
He knows his place lol
Nick Hatton I hate the camera. I'm normally on the other side of my own.
Padwan Lee brathwaite I’m the same. I made a couple of tank videos but didn’t talk over them. I’d just talk rubbish
Thank you so much for this video , I’ve been doing research on how to start my first saltwater aquarium and this video showing us has helped the most . You’re awesome man.
Seems like your buddy is just dogging me through the camera haha, keep up the vids Aaron! love em'
Perfect timing for this video! Restarting my reef tank after a years break. Think this video proves it was meant to be
the new simple scape looks good!
Thank you for the video you made, this is very useful for my knowledge of how to set up a saltwater aquarium. In my acquaintance, I really admire the videos that you made about the saltwater aquarium. And I am also a marine aquarium hobbyist.
Good one there, man - lots of work crammed into that video for sure.
Pondguru and into 1 day haha
Best way to do a job - keep attacking it until it is done.
Great vid mike. Must have seen hundreds of tanks being set up over the years but never gets boring. Your presentation and editing was also top notch 👌👍

Are you sure? To much volume wasted for me.
love the new videos, keep up the solid content! thanks for sharing
Great video as always! The volume seems a little weird, though. I had to turn it up really loud to hear the narration, but then the music is so loud! I'm watching at work over lunch and my whole office was jamming out to the music, haha!

Of course.
Aarons Aquarium okay I think we need to chat at some point .... I’ll text you 🤗🤗☝️
How you keeping the fish happy while they were out of the tank for so long ?
Hey Arron thank you for your videos... I’m just starting a tank from the ground up... I wanted to know do you use atm colony and fritz aquatics fritzzyme together? Or one or the other... because I notice in some of the vids you used either or to cycle the tank faster.

Nice scape, I really like that rock. Love how the fish congregate around it, makes it look natural.
Big question though: did you get the mantis shrimp?
Nope it's probably in the back garden with the rocks lol.
Great video. I'm going to be setting up my reefer 250 in a couple of weeks and will be going minimalist. It looks far cleaner, more natural and is much easier to look after than a wall of rock.
What are you using to hold the rock together?
I used an Epoxy from TMC it's purple like the rocks.
Any Stage 2 available???
Looks great you done a really good job but what did he do with his corals? , i miss my tank 😕
Holy hell!!! I just looked up bobbit worm. What a nightmare!
🤮
Also...don't add a second island. It looks soooooooo good like this! I love how asymmetrical it is!
Music at 8:00?
Great video as usual mate
How did you clean everything? Did you use any soap?
Yet another interesting video ! How did the vote go as to whether or not keeping the fish a few weeks ago ?
Find out this Sunday 😉
Nice 👍
Please give us a update on Palawan tank please sir
I will be doing in the next few weeks.👍🏽
Where in the uk can i get this rock
?
What shrimp was it 👍
We never saw it again. It's probably out in the garden now.
hi Arron! u know that stuff u added at the end, is it like that ATM colony?? 😁
Yes it's a very similar pal.
Did I miss the part where you said what the shrimp was?
We never found it. It must of hid in the rocks that we tossed outside.
Hi Aaron! Nice video, and a beautiful scape. What did u guys do with the old rock? Gave it away or just threw it in the bin? I want to start my new tank with dry rock and dont know what to do with my old liferock..
It was cleaned and sold pal
Fabian Hazeu it hasn't sold yet. I want 200 for the lot.
Aren’t you concerned about NO2 or pH issues when adding fresh saltwater and fresh sand?
No not at all. We have been collecting data to show you guys in the next update on this tank. The results should answer your question. Keep an eye out for an update on Padawans tank.
Great work Mike 👌 did you end up finding the culprit? Or just nitrates hiding?
Mass crap build in the tank pal.
Aarons Aquarium, no rogue mantis to blame.. padawan should be ashamed 😅
Lol
would be nice if you could equalize the volume of the music in your videos to that of your voice. gets kinda tedious raising and lowering the volume every so often during the video.
What bio media was you going to top the sump up with ?
Nano-Tech Bio-Spheres from Maxspect
Great job can u come help me with my tank
I'm for hire if you need help
Did you find a mantis ?
No it must have ended up in the garden with the rocks.
Did you figure out if it was a pistol or a mantis?
Nope we never saw it again. It will be in the garden now with the old rocks.
Aarons Aquarium shame you couldn't of put that piece of rock in water to see. Would of been worth abit if it was a peacock mantis. We had a hitchhiker one years ago, ended up taking it to a sealife centre after it killed everything in our tank 😫
Padawan looks pissed off
SPS/LPS wtf does that mean?
Lol. LPS is Large Polyp Stoney. SPS is Small Polyp Stoney coral
Hi Aaron. Is that Caribsea life rock?
No it's Walt Smith Reef Rock 2.1
Aarons Aquarium thank you. Not sure which rock is best to go for 👍🏻
Just choose what you like the most.
Aarons Aquarium good answer! Going from 20gal setup to 75 and want it to be right from the start 👍🏻
That thing is really really dirty...the whole system looks like it never had regular maintenance/cleaning.
Doesn't this hurt the fact that he doesn't have enough rock for bacteria to grow? I was told I need a pound of rock for each gallon of water.
Just saw you used bio home. Is bio home media better than the blocks like brightwells???
I personally think so yes. I personally feel filtration should happen in our filtration area using medias like Bio Home helps make that happen. This then gives us the ability to be creative with our display area.
Thats guy stand still during the first minute and half is VERY DISTURBING
