  • Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel.
In today's show I do things a bit differently as I take my son to his first game and we both give our reaction to Arsenal's 4-2 win against Leicester.

Hey Charles. Bit of strange that no one seems to point out Rice's below par form this season. He isn't the worst player but he isn't the best player on the pitch either. I know that he had Euro with him and it would be very demanding for him physically. But i think Rice should drop back to No.6 position. Playing him at No.8 with out Odegaard now makes his attacking and defensive ability both inefficient. Merino and Odegaard all have to return if we want to see the best out of RIce again. Also, next season we will certainly be with out Partey and Jorginho and we should definitely sign a long term No.6 or No.8 to complement Rice. Striker and Winger position needs to be addressed and big money should be put in but it's also the case of midfield area as well.

    Hi Charles
Great day for you and young Luke for his first game and I’m sure he’ll remember it for the rest of his life. It brings back a lot of memories for me.
I remember you speaking about your first game against Sheffield Wed in 1989 and I was there suffering as well. As you know it was part of the title run in that year and it was a horrible game, but it was memorable for one thing, which was my mate Gary calling Gus Caesar a ‘Plate of shit’. I was helpless for the rest of the game.
On to Jan 2000 for my eldest son’s first game against Southampton. We won 1-0. On the way out he we were speaking about the game and he asked me ‘Daddy. What’s a wanker?’ I told him it's a special word for the referee and don’t tell your mum.
Finally, the first game for my youngest was the 49th game of the Invincibles. Lee Hendry scored first for Villa and William (who was only 5 years old) stood up and cheered the goal. I had to explain to everyone it was his first game.. It was a bit awkward, but I also remember it being at the time the best I’d ever seen any Arsenal team play. It was the invincibles at their very best and could have been 10-1.
Great times and great memories. I hope Luke has plenty more of those over the Arsenal with his dad!
    Cheers,
    Richard

Absolutely loved this video Charles reminded me of when my Dad took me to my first Arsenal game which actually believe or not was the Danny Welbeck Leicester game! Being Irish we never got to go to many games. Luke must be the good luck charm he's got a 100% record! I was at the game too today had a long travel journey down from Sunderland (studying there this year) and then back up would of been a bit of a difficult journey back if Trossard hadn't put that corner away. Still cant get over how comfortable Nwaneri looked do you think he should start vs Southampton or should he continued to be eased in assuming he wont start vs PSG.

What a magical day! I still remember my first game - home to Sunderland 1990 - The sights, the sounds, the smells! I can still hear the man bellowing out Jumbo Sausage! as we approached Highbury. Anders the Super Swede went down in the box and Lee Dixon scored the only goal of the game from the spot - My favourite player ever since. :)

  • @saiki248
    @saiki248 4 часа назад

I think Saka should be an 8 at least. He did so much for us when we were at 2-2, created a lot of chances and almost all of his corners were spot on the middle. Calafiori & Timber, what an amazing pair of full backs we have. Both contribute to the attack without having defensive liabilities! Overall, enjoyed the game. It feels like we created chances more seamlessly than usual, everyone was rotating and knew where to cover one another. 36 shots with 16 on target, another day this game ends 6 or 7-0. Looking forward to PSG, I hope Nwaneri starts that game

  • @Rob-jv9cd

    Hi Charles
Happy Luke got a win on his first match. Better than my first game vs Leeds in December 94, I also went with my Dad and Grandad but we lost 3-1, Andy Linighan scored our goal 😁
I think today was just one of those mad games, similar to Fulham last season but today we got the job done. But just goes to show that you can’t switch off defensively in the PL.
We completely deserved the win though, 36 shots, 16 on target, their keeper was unbelievable.
Happy for Martinelli to get a goal and a assist, Calafiori and Timber were both very good too.
Brilliant cameo performance by Ethan, he should have come on sooner. Trossard will probably start against PSG but Ethan has to start against Southampton.

What a beautiful memory for the 3 generations of Watts! And what a game that was! After Leicester scored their first goal I just knew another one was coming. The complacency from the Arsenal players was not a good sight. Happy for Martinelli to get his goal, he’s looking revived having Calafiori on his side. A few times in the games Calafiori has played, I thought his positioning when defending could use a little work. At times during today’s game I really missed Martin’s cheeky passes putting Saka or Timber through, but when Ethan came on it was a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to PSG!

Happy first game for your son. Luke was very close with the scoreline and goal Scorers.
I remember when I took my son to his first Arsenal game. It was 2 years ago, I think. Arsenal vs Wimbledon in the cup, we won. I didn't tell him that I was taking him. His little face when he saw the size of the stadium. 😂.
Ethans cameo was WOW. Can you imagine if he scored that goal. I think it's time he starts. Saka and Timber link up play was brilliant. I honestly think White might struggle to get back in at RB.

    Hi, Charles.
    Lucky Luke!!
The first match that I took my eldest to was one of those tricky North West matches that caused us so many problems; we lost against Blackburn Rovers (remember them?). We got out, met some of my colleagues and, when one of them asked my son what he thought of the match, he burst into tears.
However, that experience didn't deter my son and now he lives in London and goes to Ashburton Grove as often as he can.

It was a good win for Arsenal. I wouldn't call it a big win because the team should have put the match to bed in the first half, but we didn't, and that came back to haunt us, nearly costing Arsenal two points. Yes, the team played well, but there were some inconsistencies with certain players. Trossard and Calafiori did really well, not to mention Nwaneri, who changed the game when he came on. Matinelli's selfish play on some chances doesn't do us good. Players need to not be too selfish and give the ball at the right time to their teammate who has better chances. It is all about teamwork, boys. This is the type of game Arsenal should have finished off in the first half. The two goals by Leicester City could have been avoided if our defence wasn't sloppy near cost us. Anyway, Arteta needs to look into that and make sure it doesn't happen again; otherwise, against other league competitors, there would be no coming back from such mistakes. Credit goes to Leicester City for doing what they had to do in order to come back from being down 2-0.
Good luck to Arsenal and Arteta in their next match! Gunner for life!

Hi Charles. We made it hard for ourselves but got the deserved win in the end. Looked really complacent in the second half but despite not playing at out best we won the game. Glad to see Martinelli back on the scoresheet and trossard took his goal well and could easily have had a hattrick. Ethan made a big impression when he came on and definitely looks ready to play more games.
Glad your son enjoyed the day and saw a win at his first game. Your dad took you in 1989 and now you've taken your son to see the arsenal and maybe in 30 years time he will take his son. Forever Arsenal!

Great to hear that you enjoyed your son's first game. Even better that you sacrificed being engrossed in the game to make sure he had a great day.

Great result, i think Nwaneri is the closest to Odegaard despite his age. Congrats to Luke on his first game.
