Thank you Jeremy, your observation of the event is exactly correct, this is life in the wild. And regarding the nice people who have negative judgment, what you see in the video takes place every day in the rabbit and rattlesnake environment. They are preyed upon by; eagles, hawks, crow/raven, wolf, coyote, fox, wild boar, mountain lion, bobcat, skunk, raccoon, weasel, other snakes -- all of which dine on the rattlesnake for survival... it's life in the wild. Jim Reinknecht He was biten prior to filming. He ran away the poison slowly started to work and the snake followed the scent. But it wasn't necessarily a sick rabbit although it may have been
lmao at everyone who says "oh I would kill that snake if I saw that" or "who would let it kill the rabbit?". Smdh you guys just advertise your ignorance, it is called the food chain and for the moron who brought up burmese pythons damaging endangered animal populations, well pythons are not native, eastern diamondback rattlesnakes are genius. If you are one of the people who say this snake should have been killed let me ask you this, if you see a bunch of ants swarming a grasshopper are you going to try and brush all the ants off to spare the grasshopper? I doubt it
Leave the damn snake alone to eat, if you stress it out by simply being there it will vomit up it's food which will probably kill the snake and then the rabbit would have died for nothing.
I don't think the poster is aware of the condition of the rabbit. The rabbit is behaving as if poisoned (snake venom). The condition the rabbit is in, anyone could walk right up to the rabbit and picked it up by it's ears. I don't think the poster is aware of how wild rabbits behave in open spaces. Rabbits are constantly on alert for danger with their heads held high in the normal sitting position. This rabbit is behaving sluggish and not too aware of the surroundings. The poster mentions he has walked the trail before and this is the first time he came across a snake. Oh, yes, not to mention a six foot rattle snake. Redundant, mentioned at the beginning: Eastern Diamondback rattle snake. But he goes ahead and mentions it! Yes, if this is the first time you came across any snake in your walks, why would you mention, not to mention, the length? Why not say, for the first time on my many walks, I saw a "six foot diamondback rattle snake" attacking a brown rabbit? There is no feeding time between the rabbit and the snake. Think about it; would there be feeding time between you and a lion in the same situation? I think not! I think you're suffering the after effects of a venomous snake bite. I know it's been some time, Go see a doctor!
It is a politically incorrect video. Life is politically incorrect and the universe is politically incorrect. Let's hope that humanity will learn it before they become the rabbit.
PS: 3 million plus views, is a few thousand dollars value with a monetized video. Video should have been continued 2nd part as snake swallows rabbit. Few more thousand in the video owner's pocket. Sorry, that would have been way too logical. ...who cares about an extra $5,000-$6,000 .
Even though I love animals and I hate to see anything die I want to study animals someday so seeing nature happen so up close is really interesting. For everyone saying you would kill the snake and saying the guy recording is a bad person. I find it would be worse to interfere with it. Just think if that snake has others to feed if he would have stopped the snake all the other snakes would have gone hungry. I mean seriously do you only think about the cuter animals. I find all animals have their own beauty.
Most reptiles don't feed other reptiles, I think there may be one lizard species that brings food to its babies. There's at least one species of rattlesnake, the arizona black rattlesnake, that cares for her young after they're born. The babies stay with their mother for up to two weeks after they're born and the mother snakes will babysit each others babies, there's pictures of a pregnant arizona black rattler guarding her nestmate's babies
To answer a recurring question I'm seeing. A snakes venom can be just as deadly to itself as it is to its prey. All venom is simply a mix of proteins, enzymes and polypeptides. During the digestion process the venom is broken down and rendered harmless. As long as there are no cuts or sores in the digestive tract for the venom to enter the blood before it is broken down, there is no harm at all. There are a few species known to produce their own antivenom, to an extent, to help in case they ever accidentally bite themselves. Even a human can drink snake venom. If you have no cuts in your mouth or ulcers in your stomach / esophagus you'll be fine. Please don't actually try this, as it would be a horrific way to die (especially if the venom is hemolitic) if you did have an ulcer or cut for the venom to get into.
To y'all who disliked this video/thought this guy was a cruel bastard: -Let nature take it's course, us humans have already fucked with it enough -Snakes need to survive too -The rabbit was clearly already bitten at some point, no point in trying to save it. This guy was on a hike and by the time he could've carried that poor rabbit back to the car it'd be dead. This isn't even accounting for the time it would take to see some sort of vet -For christ's sake it's a *rattlesnake*, you really wanna get bit and die like that rabbit? -If you wanted to protect a rabbit, go to the local pet store and get one. Pets don't always get treated nicely in a pet store
I would have liked if he continued filming because I wanted to see if the snake could have swallowed something that big. Very beautiful rattlesnake. Eastern Diamondback?
This is a rattlesnake in its habitat getting food and u guys r still bitching, him stoping the rattlesnake would be cruel because unlike us the snake doesn't know when hes gonna get his next meal, could be weeks
Some people may get angry because they forget their meat once was alive like the rabbit. All creatures must feed, the snake is not evil for feeding itself.
Its difficult to be dispassionate about the death of a "cute" animal being preyed upon by a "scary" one. You need to learn to accept you are not yet prepared to accept reality and the world as it is. You need to grow up.
I don't understand why people are saying the guy should have helped the rabbit. Whether it was already bitten or not, the snake has a right to live, too. Ijs.
People saying he could have saved the rabbit. If he did he would end up with a dead rabbit since the thing had previously been bitten and this is the circle of life. Nature is cruel but for the good of the planet.
Personally I would much rather have a snake around than bubonic plague carrying mice and rats, or rabies carrying rabbits or weasels. Just because you are frightened of a poor little snake doesn't mean they don't serve their purpose on the food chain.
The rabbit had already been injected with venom. The snake tracked it with its awesome sense of "smell". Rabbits are an easterns specialty due to being big enough to eat prey that size. I really wish he would of just sat quietly and filmed it in its entirety
Amazing footage! Funny how people see some sort of negativity in this. The snake is simply having it's meal. Simple, honest, natural...

This is why I avoid scrub areas. Too many rattlesnakes are around
shit NY could use about 10,000 rattlesnakes to free it of all the rat and cat problems?
Dhort conpany filder laik periston kruiy fot nubet
That was a once in lifetime opportunity very unique video thanks for posting!
You're braver than me. When I see a rattlesnake, I get the hell out of there.
Wonderful footage!
When did the snake strike the rabbit, i must have missed it after watching it four times.
Pretty sure the snake had already bitten the rabbit before he started filming them
this is the aftermath of the actual hunt
where the rabbit had gotten bitten by the sanke earlier
Why so many dislikes?? This is nature. People are crazy my friend
Seems like it was already bite prior to the guy recording
Yea, looks like it was bitten and the snake was just waiting on the poison to set in.
Notthefather venom not poison
lol i thought it was a python and i was sat here wondering what was wrong with the rabbit lol. i have never seen a rattle snake that big
I've seen a picture of another species of large viper eating a cat
Eyeroll.. Not defenseless ... The rattlesnake was doing his job on the food chain by picking off the weak and injured
Yes. maintaining the balance of nature which many of the people here in youtube don't understand.
That rabbit wasn't weak or injured. They're not fucking scavengers. He was in the prime of his life until he got smoked by a rattle snake, tracked down and eaten. He deserves more credit than that.
Dougy If humans did that, half of these comments in the comment section wouldn't be here.
Jim Reinknecht He was biten prior to filming. He ran away the poison slowly started to work and the snake followed the scent. But it wasn't necessarily a sick rabbit although it may have been
PSYCHO BUNNYウサギ Good comeback did your mother make it? YEAH I THOUGHT SO SO STFU
Rattle is just his way of saying "hey I''m scared of you, I don't want to bite but I will, please leave me alone"
so.....where is the attack? looks to me it was already bitten before this video started.
John Douglas
lmao at everyone who says "oh I would kill that snake if I saw that" or "who would let it kill the rabbit?". I doubt it
finally someone that is educated.
Ants wont later bite a child....harp all you want on "Natures Way"..if it doesnt have shoulders/feet, Im killing it..thats My Natures Way...'nuff said
Leave the damn snake alone to eat, if you stress it out by simply being there it will vomit up it's food which will probably kill the snake and then the rabbit would have died for nothing.
The behind the scenes look at Planet Earth
I've been camping in Myakka State Park and the place is like a zoo. Deer and Hogs everywhere. The lake is full of giant bass. Amazing place
Agree and I doubt they will. In fact I know they WILL NOT learn. Good comment, I'll bet you follow Q.
Tucson Ron Are you talking about the plan Q?
I played Elton John's circle of life after watching this
Even though I love animals and I hate to see anything die I want to study animals someday so seeing nature happen so up close is really interesting.
You are wise young grasshopper. You will go far.
Snake:ready to attack
Bunny:nah im out of here
To answer a recurring question I'm seeing.
They eat rabbits but that one was just too big . I wonder if it kept it down or died . Thats a nice size rattle too 6-7 ft in good girth .
I wasn't able to stick around and see. This would have taken into the night to complete- it was getting pretty dark already!
you could not pay me enough to live in Florida ! This is one reason why..
Arizona is worse you should move there
Try Australia buddy, North-West QLD or along the East coast in NSW. We have Eastern Browns and Funnel Web spiders. Both will kill ya in minutes.
Yes, must have bitten the rabbit before the video.
Move back to NY.
I’m from Texas but New York is a lovely place. Both parts
To y'all who disliked this video/thought this guy was a cruel bastard:
-Let nature take it's course, us humans have already fucked with it enough
-Snakes need to survive too
-The rabbit was clearly already bitten at some point, no point in trying to save it. This guy was on a hike and by the time he could've carried that poor rabbit back to the car it'd be dead. This isn't even accounting for the time it would take to see some sort of vet
-For christ's sake it's a *rattlesnake*, you really wanna get bit and die like that rabbit?
-If you wanted to protect a rabbit, go to the local pet store and get one. Pets don't always get treated nicely in a pet store
I would have liked if he continued filming because I wanted to see if the snake could have swallowed something that big. Very beautiful rattlesnake. Eastern Diamondback?
The bunnies get intoxicated from eating the fermented fruit of the prickly pear cactus that grow wild. The drunken bunnies become easy prey.
Nice theory! I wasn’t aware of that.
If rattle is going... That means go away
(Port Saint Lucie, FL) My cat catches these stupid rabbits all the time. They're a dime a dozen.
Rabbit: Hops a few feet away from a snake
Also Rabbit: Yeets the fuck away from a human
Me:*visible confusion*
@@GeorgeVasilescu-ct6my So, it must've been bitten before the recording started.
This is a rattlesnake in its habitat getting food and u guys r still bitching, him stoping the rattlesnake would be cruel because unlike us the snake doesn't know when hes gonna get his next meal, could be weeks
Poor rabbit but hey it's called survival and life
Rabbits are the worst pests ever
But they're tasty
Good thing snakes eat them
Especially in Australia. I want the damn things eradicated.
and every one hwo is crying about it the rabbit got bit so it was dying no mater what
I couldn't see the exact attack point in the video, can someone tell me what time it happened?
Some people may get angry because they forget their meat once was alive like the rabbit. All creatures must feed, the snake is not evil for feeding itself.
I like snakes
Me too
I have 13 snakes at the moment
I wish I had that rabbit on my bbq grill cooking low and slow.
*_y e s_*
Tasty 😋
They came from behind... Aaaaaah
Pull up!
It follows.......haha
That’s a large rattlesnake, where was this filmed?
Dude, it literally says it in the title. Myakka, Florida
Snake's like "fuck off mate I'm trying to eat"
Hahahahahahahahahaha stupid rabbit snakes rule!
Poor rabbit
Its difficult to be dispassionate about the death of a "cute" animal being preyed upon by a "scary" one. You need to learn to accept you are not yet prepared to accept reality and the world as it is. You need to grow up.
Leo Silva...How do you know, rabbit might have had a mattress stuffed with 100 dollar bills!!
The rabbit had been listening to a Hillary Clinton speech before...I know how it feels! :-)
Rabbits are prey animals.
It's hilarious reading these comments.
Indeed!
Most people just live in the city and don't get nature... no exposure. Too bad.
Tucson Ron...They are called snowflakes!!! The future of the human race doesn’t look good!
poor little rabbit. I know that everything has to eat but I hate snakes. the only good one Is A dead one.
Personally I would much rather have a snake around than bubonic plague carrying mice and rats, or rabies carrying rabbits or weasels. Just because you are frightened of a poor little snake doesn't mean they don't serve their purpose on the food chain.
Snakes are more useful than given credit for. You go Mr Rattler!!
your are fucking dumb. snakes stop rodents from infestation. and a rabbit is a rodent. deal with it.
Snakes are great. The bigger, more poisonous and more deadly the better also. Fascinating creatures.
yes i love them to.
poor rabbit...
Its nature, get over it.
Ayat Ko U Eat Chicken,Rabbit,Hamburger Which Is Made Of Cow. And Deer Meat,Lamb And That Stuff
Ayat Ko so much for the easter bunny
Ayat Ko...Nah, rabbit making 6 figures before it got its ass swallowed!!
James do you spell your name DeWitt or is it DeWit
The rabbit had already been injected with venom. The snake tracked it with its awesome sense of "smell". Rabbits are an easterns specialty due to being big enough to eat prey that size. I really wish he would of just sat quietly and filmed it in its entirety
