I go through rooms fast by literally just sliding through stairs and bhopping while sliding. Only bhop after sliding through stairs to keep some momentum. The gameplay literally looks like you are driving a car instead of running. Bhopping while sliding is hard to maneuver around which sometimes gets me killed but with enough practice you can control it a bit more. Also in my experience slide + jump (Without bhop just execute it once) can give you a short boost which helps in running.
