However, I think you've done something remarkable with your version and given the song a new direction and tone that works spectacularly. I really admire your bravery and talent. Very well done on the song👍. I like Nick Cave but tbh am more of an occasional listener to his stuff & so hadn't actually heard this one before. So this is my very 1st listen to the song & I really enjoyed ur version. Music can represent so many emotions and that is the beauty of it. I have to say Nick's stuff can be quite dark so please also have some 'go to' feel good tunes. Obviously get along to shows like the lips when you get chance. Here I picture that either the Girl in Amber is the actual ghost of a dead woman who is haunting her loved ones, unable to comfort them as much as she wants to and watches helplessly as they crumble into depression and their souls die and wander around the world, or it is a young woman who has lost her mother and spends her time wondering whether she’s gonna get a call from her.
You must be a very special girl with a beautiful voice and a very special way to say all those words. You say it better than Mr Cave. Best wishes to you, Nell.
