I can't seem to get enough of this piece. I have found at least 4 differant versions of this duet, and all send chills down my spine.I can't find words to describe the feelings it evokes.
Thank you all for your very nice comments. Sorry I haven't kept up with replying to each of you individually. The theater was/is OU Opera Theatre at The University of Oklahoma. It was a student production, and I was in my first doctoral semester. I have yet graduated and look back fondly on that time: a very good experience and memory.
got on a flower duet kick tonight and started comparing performances. this is easily one of the best i could find. outstanding. this was the first one i found that let me forget i was watching youtube and enjoy every note. thank you
incredibly beautiful duet between two kindred spirits singing of beauty while their men are busy breaking their promises. Beautifuly feminine and tear-breaking!
If I were Marcy Gonzales, I would really really and deeply appreciate to be forgotten, both in the title and the description, of this post.. But thanx for sharing this nice version..
@thepalacemaid I could only extract a few things out of the production DVD. If you're interested, you can buy the DVD of the whole production. Let me know. Thanks!
4:58 Wonderful composition! May I know , the concept of the opera ? It seems like CHANDALIKA of Nobel Laureate Poet Rabindranath Tagore. Please elaborate here the theme.
Yes, I own a DVD with the entire production (with cuts). I think you can borrow or purchase a DVD of this production from the University of Oklahoma. libraries.ou.edu/content/fine-arts-media-resource-center
