Thank you for taking the time to explain clearly, step by step, this amazing method. The neon powder definitely helps the colour gone through and with it being powders and dust it keeps everything super thin. Love it💅🏻💖
You just gave me a great idea for my color pigment powders. I originally bought them to change my acrylic different colors, but now I’m gonna try this method. Even without the holo these nails are fly. Thanks for sharing.
beautiful!! love these powders! i normally use born pretty powders but i will definitely check out magpie pigments alsoo using powders for the gel colour is pretty cool too!
this is actually an extremely helpful video. thank you. most videos ive seen around youtube on holographic are so fucking shit, and they dont include the things you did so im happy to have found this.
Many thanks for the great video :-D Does one see the effect in daylight or only under Flashlight? Unfortunately the effect with many pigments in the daylight is not recognizable therefore my question ... Thank you :-D
I have never commented on RUclips before...I love the chrome and holochrome look, and since getting that done at a shop costs so much (I wear acrylic because my natural nails suck) I'm trying to start doing things on my own. Do you have any advice for someone who is literally starting out on things? Half of what you said was almost foreign, but I have to start somewhere...I asked you because you seem very clear and precise and I feel like I could learn a lot from you or someone like you. Thanks for any advice you or anyone can give me. 😊
Tamara Phillips there might be simple videos to start off with rather than this one have a look on my channel especially in the magpie beauty playlist you may find something easier to get you started
Get non wipe top gel top coat from aliexpress and holographic nail pigment from aliexpress, you also need a uv lamp to dry the gel, you rub on the pigment then topcoat it then you’re done, you can also add a base coat and colour coat before all of this (with gel polish remember to cure under the uv lamp as it won’t dry any other way)
Do you use a builder gel first on your nails to build the thickness of the nail or just pigment straight onto the nail? Another question of the same sort...when using gel polish do i still need to use a builder gel first or just be able to use a couple coats of the gel polish? When do you leave the lacky layer and when do you remove it...or does it vary with different brands and products? Thank you for your time! Love your nails by the way...great tutorial!
Amanda no I don't use builder gel, these are acrylics as I wear them all the time so I go straight on with gel polish. And it depends if the brand you use has a no wipe topcoat. You'd need a tacky layer for the neon Pigments to stick to and a no wipe topcoat or to wipe the tacky layer of topcoat for the Holochrome.
Hi! I hope you can help me. About 4 years ago I bought a stunning eggplant nail polish from Etsy. She'd somehow used the spectraflair or perhaps one of these linear holographic powders when creating it. Whatever she did, it has the beautiful linear holographic effect in a very deep, deep eggplant pigment. She sadly no longer makes it and after scouring the internet since then, I've not been able to find anyone who has one that even comes close to it. Because she did one that was slightly darker for me after my sweet kitty died, I've been desperate to find someone who can either make one for me, or tell me how I can make one. I don't want to do this to sell! Just so I can wear it and enjoy it. So, my question is, does anyone make these linear powders in coloured pigments? If so, where can I get them? Because so far, that search has ended in a big zero, too. And anytime I've found the perfect hue of polish and then tried to add the spectraflair top coat to it, naturally, it "desats" my pigment, greying it out. The only tutorials on the internet I've found are ones like yours, in which you apply pigment separate from the holographic powder. That's why I'm wondering if perhaps you may know how she might have created this polish. I see lots of purple polishes with the linear effect but they are NOT dark--they always end up a light lavender. Anyway, if you can help me, I would be most grateful! Thank-you.
would you get the same ombre effect if you used a sponge to create and ombre with two gel polishes? or instead of using pigments, create the ombre with the gel polishes? would love to know!
Madelynn Mero you can create the ombre any way you want to I just used the pigments for ease of creating the ombre and the fact they're so bright! But as long as you topcoat the ombre after with no wipe topcoat or your normal gel topcoat an wipe off the tacky layer with a dry wipe you'll be fine x
Hi, can you tell me, what I do wrong. I cure the top coat 2 minute, get of with dry paper And the result Is not good. The Blue color Is almost all hide, IT IS Silver...thank you, i need to do IT right...
I can't stop looking at your nails!

lovely tfs 😍
Brilliant 👍👍
so you don't have to wipe off the tacky layer on the white gel polish? x
Ella Worsfold no the Pigments need a tacky layer to stick to unlike the Holochrome which needs a non tacky layer.
ohhh I see! thanks! x
Beautiful job hunnie! I see people use too much powder all the time and it makes it look Sooo grey and not very nice at all.
Waw..eso es sobra para ojos ??

This is very informative. Thank you for such details! You used only regular gel top coat, correct?

wauw
I think magpie should do a Disney collection like they did with the princesses
They are lovely, but I’m wondering if you have to be a licensed tech to order from Magpie?
Pam I thiink you do for their gel polish but i think you can get the glitters if not

Hey :) where did your purchase your custom background? Thanks x
Do you do a topcoat over Holo powder?
what's a "floaty" nail?
xMourningStar a floaty topcoat is where you have a lot more product on your brush and float the product over the nail.
❤👍🏼
If you do not use flash photography, Not bright,Really disappointed! Small amount is also super expensive!😮😮
