    A feature that would be nice for the glimmer system is a dock eject/release button. This would make it so much more user friendly for all crafters. Hopefully this will be considered for the next version for a real “new” system. Great class.

      Just something to break on the system

    • @bertas-cards
      @bertas-cards Год назад +7

      @@marylynncox7599that is true on any craft tooL. This suggestion will help people enjoy hot foiling that have chronic conditions that affect their hands. People without chronic conditions are having trouble using this current system. Positive feedback is more helpful in making things more user friendly for all crafters.

      I think this is a great suggestion! I don't have any chronic conditions that affect my hands, but I still have a hard time pulling the stacked plates out from the base. I can't see how an eject button would break?

      I’d love it. My Glimmer is hard to pry from the dock without messing up the plate, foil and card stock lined up! It is so frustrating I do not hot foil much. Frustrating when I do!

      I'd love an eject button too. I have strong wrists but they ache for days after using my Glimmer machine, it is so difficult to undock.

    What a treat to see the studio setup and the other Spellbinders folks who make the magic happen! This video, along with all the Glimmer Bootcamp videos, was very helpful. A shout out for the foil trimmer. I didn't think I needed that tool until I discovered I absolutely, positively stink at cutting foil with a scissor. Definitely not my super power. Now my foil has straight lines and as little waste as I can manage!

    Watched the replay of this class. I did not want to purchase the kits prior since I had have problems glimmering in the past. Watched the video, then went and tried Kim's tips with the hot foil plates I own. This time I had so much success foiling that I just went and purchased both of the kits along with a couple of other items. Thank you Spellbinders for being such an awesome company. I have been a customer for many many years and y'all just get better and better.

    I have a question about the Glimmer Speciality Paper. In Spellbindets website this is in the description of the paper: This versatile paper is also ideal for alcohol ink use. The 76lbs cardstock is coated to enable inks, watercolors, and other mixed media mediums to dry on its surface to prevent from bleeding into it. I know this video is several months old. Did the composition of this cardstock change? I’m so new on trying to figure out the difference in cardstock. Thanks!

    • @spellbinders
      @spellbinders  Год назад

      Hi, we recommend our Assemble & Store Glimmer Foil Roll Station to store your foils! You can find it here: spellbinderspaperarts.com/products/assemble-store-glimmer-foil-roll-station?_pos=41&_sid=373f28163&_ss=r as for the extra pieces of foil- we recommend laying them flat and storing them in a folder or something equivalent!

    Is there ANY trick to getting the glimmer plate “undocked”? I have done everything but stand on my head and sometimes can hardly get it undocked. I love Spellbinders but this is my 2nd Glimmer system. I saved up and bought a new one because about 3/4 of the time, if not more, even tho the light quit blinking when redocked, it just cooled down almost as if I had shut it off, behaving like the first one. I thought maybe I had broken it but both systems act the same. I’m starting to think about getting a different system.😢

  • @catherinewyly9942
    @catherinewyly9942 Год назад

    Amen to that. Mine is so tight I ruin at least a third of my foils trying to get it undocked. I rarely use just for that reason, way too difficult and stressful.

    • @chrisarlington1792
